Well, there are no carve outs in the constitution.
The supreme court has drawn some *very* narrow exceptions, all on grounds other than speech grounds (none on "hate speech" grounds).
Like inciting a riot (screaming "fire!" when there isn't one) or "fighting words" (a terrible SCOTUS decision) or inciting a crowd to violence "GO KILL THAT ____ OVER THERE!" (fill in the blank as appropriate)

2. They want to understand enough of the current law so that they can use it against people to commit their social lawfare or create additional laws that conflict with the original one, creating cases that drag on for years and are lucrative.
I've also decided that getting into law school is now easier than getting into a beauty school. It has to be. There are a zillion laws schools now, and they all are full. They have become the Plan B or C of the permanent student class that we seem to be funding in masse.

"fighting words" have to be said to a person in a way that "any reasonable person" would be super duper offended and feel the need to defend their honor.
But it can't be about someone, it has to be *to* someone. So I can say "John Smith sucks homeless dudes cocks for fun" and generally I'm okay (assuming he sucks dick and I'm not slandering him), but if I go up to John Smith and call him a "cock sucker", I could get a ticket if my state had a law (like NH once did) about "insulting people in public"
Now, he still wouldn't be justified in hitting me or anything...
Frankly, its an affront of the 1st amendment and SCOTUS should overturn that decision with as much haste as possible.

But questions of constitutionality should not rest on precedence and should be decided on a plain text reading of the source document in question (the constitution).

Michigan had a stupid proposal on the ballot yesterday.
Michigan's roads are in such poor condition that our potholes are legendary. Our legislature has been arguing (despite being majority Republican) for months over how to fix it.
During all the debates, it came to light that the current state fuel tax IS NOT 100% being used for road maintainence. Instead, a large percentage of it is being siphoned off for Yes..you guessed it, schools, programs for the poor, etc.
So when it was proposed to restore the fuel tax usage back to it's intended purpose, roads, resulting in a loss of major money to all these non road recipients, the war was on.
Our children would suffer school closing, loss of programs, etc. The poor would starve, the state would lose a balanced budget, etc. etc.
So what did our brilliant legislators come up with? A hybrid proposal in which the state fuel tax would be raised, the state SALES tax would go up 1%, the increase in sales tax would continue to fund the schools, etc. (remember when the lottery was supposed to fund the schools beyond their wildest dreams-yeah, that's been siphoned off too) and the working poor would get more money..from the increase in taxes they pay to buy things, lol. The fuel tax would supposedly go to fully fund roads , but the language was murky.
Short answer, the voters in Michigan defeated this proposal 85% No. Virtually no one believed the BS coming out of Lansing on this proposal.
Snyder was still sounding like Baghdad Bob yesterday, claiming that he thought the proposal would pass.
It's heartening to see that my fellow Americans in my state, regardless of political bent, continue to have some sense and some fortitude.

Wisconsin just passed a constitutional amendment (I think) that forces the state government to use the fuel tax for roads and such because of the same thing (funds were being diverted for other crap).

Sounds like what happened here. They had a ballot proposal to raise sales tax from 4 cents to 6 cents. (It is now 10.5 cents inside the city limits but all the stores are inide the city limits and I didn't get to vote on this).
In any case the original increase was defeated by a 3-1 margin. So what did the county do? They schedule an "off year election three months later and gave all city and county employees the day off. It pass by a 3-1 margin of 1000 voters in a county with 70,000 residents.
So watch out for down the road tricks.

I think you can frame the limits of free speech based on the SCOTUS' definition and usage of "fighting words."
The SCOTUS differentiates between "in the heat of the moment" and otherwise.
I think if Ms Gellar had tried to hold a "draw the prophet" contest
at a mosque, there would have been a case for "in the heat of the
moment," but as the SCOTUS says if there is time for the initial
emotions of the participants to pass, like in the time it takes to
travel to Garland from Phoenix, that there is no defense for those who
attempt to commit crimes.

What I don't get is why people act like the Constitution is some shakespearean play written in an unfamiliar cadence and requiring a whole afternoon to sit down and read, occasionally looking words up in a dictionary.
It's a short, easy to read document written in our vernacular. You could read it cover to cover in, what, 20-30 minutes? And you should be able to understand pretty much every word it in with only an 8th grade reading level.

It has been my experience when talking to them*, especially on political subjects and the Constitution, that they indeed do believe that SCOTUS rulings are the "Constitution." It has also been my impression that they believe the original document coupled with stated intent (as found in the Federalist Papers and other writings) is, in a way, superseded by said SCOTUS rulings.
Hence, we end up with bullshittery such as "separation of church and State" and a right to murder the unborn.

That said, sounds like the gun and the operator are not well matched.
Best suggestion is to either find a shop that rents guns and try out several, or, if you know someone who has a bunch of different firearms, see if they will let you try a few.
One thing to remember, don't get caught up in caliber. Buy the gun you like to shoot, not the one that has "more stopping power."
It's all well and good to own a 44 magnum that will "blow a head clean off" but if you're unwilling to practice with a large caliber handgun then it's not much use.

Serious answer? Conflict Theory. Which in a nutshell is a form of social "research" that gives rise to all the isms you know and love. The basic premise is that objective "reality" is only one form of reality, and the subjective narratives of the many, especially the "oppressed" are valued more than YOUR objective reality, which comes from your place of privilege.
This language is being taught to wide swaths of the culture, and it is being embraced as a legitimate viewpoint. More legitimate than your objective reality precisely because... well, you know why.

I have four (or maybe it's five) magazines, and the misfires are not
all from the same one. Unless they're all defective? I've tried
different ammo, same result. I can't remember what the stuff I read

that it ejects the casings backwards into my face. Had one get stuck
between my temple and safety glasses arm.
I'd take it to a gunsmith if I liked the weight and grip, but I don't so...
I'm sure you know this, but the most common cause of misfeeds in automatics is holding the pistol too loosely. The fact that one of the spent cartridges struck you in the head indicates that the pistol moving around in the hand in an uncontrolled manner may be the problem.
