Those of us go to sporting events and see them honoring the heroes, U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) told the paper. You get a good feeling in your heart. Then to find out theyre doing it because they re compensated for it it leaves you underwhelmed. It seems a little unseemly.

48 Here we see a clear representation of the patriarchy-enforced rape culture endemic to all male-dominated societies. The representatives of the patriarchy, symbolically portrayed in this painting as farmers, look on approvingly as the male cattle nonchalantly violate the passive and helpless earth, which is a clear metaphor for rape. Note the whip which the representative of the patriarchy holds in his hand, which he will use to ensure there is no hesitancy or pause for reflection by the other males on their violation of wymynkind, thereby reinforcing rape culture and punishing any man who would cease to unquestioningly participate, or even slow down in his participation.

Late term abortions are actually pretty pricey. There was a story a few weeks ago about a woman aborting her 36 week old (!!!!) baby at Hern's clinic in Colorado and she claimed she paid him 25k to murder her baby.

Here we see a clear representation of the patriarchy-enforced rape
culture endemic to all male-dominated societies. The representatives of
the patriarchy, symbolically portrayed in this painting as farmers,
look on approvingly as the male cattle nonchalantly violate the passive
and helpless earth, which is a clear metaphor for rape. Note the whip
which the representative of the patriarchy holds in his hand, which he
will use to ensure there is no hesitancy or pause for reflection by the
other males on their violation of wymynkind, thereby reinforcing rape
culture and punishing any man who would cease to unquestioningly
participate, or even slow down in his participation.

Great analysis except that an ox starts life as male but by the time it is plowing a field, it has been castrated much as the white oppressor class, fearing the sexual power of people of color, seeks to emasculate them by imposition of "proper" English grammar, "work ethic", Eurocentric concepts of private property and laws against so called "rape".

180 alexthechick @ 29: "Seriously, I am deeply regretting all those career decisions I made wherein I abided by the rule of law. I'm a fool."

For me, it's health insurance. Should people have health insurance? (By that, I mean pre-ObamaCare, when legally one had a choice.) I don't know. Insurance of any kind is a financial instrument, and financial matters are personal, so I balk before saying that anyone outside of my family "should" be insured.

My wife and I deemed it important, so we drove beater cars, and our vacations were rare and short, all so that we could buy health insurance. Then we'd listen to other people (owners of late-model SUVs, you know) talk about their trips to Ottawa or Italy or Maine or wherever but they couldn't get needed medical or dental procedures done because they don't have insurance because they couldn't afford insurance and how we (government, that is) needed to do something about that - which, of course, "we" did.

So yeah, I know a little about sacrifice and responsibility and following the rules and a small amount of subsequent regret.

Welcome to the Suckers Club, alexthechick!

283 My great grandfather emigrated from Galicia in 1896. At the time, Galicia was part of the Austria-Hungarian empire. Of course, my great grandfather was ethnically Polish. They settled in western Massachusetts to farm.

This painting could actually depict my great grandfather. Fascinating.
