Here we see a clear representation of the patriarchy-enforced rape culture endemic to all male-dominated societies. The representatives of the patriarchy, symbolically portrayed in this painting as farmers, look on approvingly as the male cattle nonchalantly violate the passive and helpless earth, which is a clear metaphor for rape. Note the whip which the representative of the patriarchy holds in his hand, which he will use to ensure there is no hesitancy or pause for reflection by the other males on their violation of wymynkind, thereby reinforcing rape culture and punishing any man who would cease to unquestioningly participate, or even slow down in his participation.

My grandfather used a a team of horses for plowing and other farm work until 1946 (Michigan). An old-school guy who was nearly killed when the team skittered and the plow nearly took off a leg. My dad (16yo) took over the work for six months. When the war ended, Grandpa finally saw reason and bought a John Deere. Dad still talks about the day it arrived.

Note the whip which the representative of the patriarchy holds in his hand, which he will use to ensure there is no hesitancy or pause for reflection by the other males on their violation of wymynkind, thereby reinforcing rape culture and punishing any man who would cease to unquestioningly participate, or even slow down in his participation. alexthechick @ 29: "Seriously, I am deeply regretting all those career decisions I made wherein I abided by the rule of law. I'm a fool."
For me, it's health insurance. Should people have health insurance? (By that, I mean pre-ObamaCare, when legally one had a choice.) I don't know. Insurance of any kind is a financial instrument, and financial matters are personal, so I balk before saying that anyone outside of my family "should" be insured. My wife and I deemed it important, so we drove beater cars, and our vacations were rare and short, all so that we could buy health insurance. Then we'd listen to other people (owners of late-model SUVs, you know) talk about their trips to Ottawa or Italy or Maine or wherever but they couldn't get needed medical or dental procedures done because they don't have insurance because they couldn't afford insurance and how we (government, that is) needed to do something about that - which, of course, "we" did. So yeah, I know a little about sacrifice and responsibility and following the rules and a small amount of subsequent regret. Welcome to the Suckers Club, alexthechick! The United States heard widespread concern Monday over excessive use of force by law-enforcement officials against minorities as it faced the UN's main human rights body for a review of its record.
Washington also faced calls to work toward abolishing the death penalty, push ahead with closing the Guantanamo Bay detention center and ensure effective safeguards against abuses of Internet surveillance. Its appearance before the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva is the second review of the US rights record, following the first in 2010. A string of countries ranging from Malaysia to Mexico pressed the US to redouble efforts to prevent police using excessive force against minorities.
