That Just About Wraps It Up For "PunditFact"

Sean Davis had demonstrated that the Clinton Foundation only gives 15% of its donated monies to charities. "PunditFact" presumed to rate the truth of this claim. They found that Davis' math was correct... and then rated the claim Mostly False anyway.

Davis now answers them.

My favorite part is the ending, though:

1) Show any proof that the Clinton Foundation has any significant number of such "programmatic activities." (Hint, this is addressed in Davis's piece linked above).

2) Even if there *were* such "programmatic activities" that would not change the truth or falsehood of Davis's assertion- that they spent only 15% of their budget over 4 years on charitable grants, and only 10% in 2013. Because those are *facts* which have been documented.

The thing is, these guys at punditfact presume to be our betters. That they are fit to judge the truth from lies. Why do they presume this is true? What evidence do they cite that gives them the authority to judge? None. Zip. Zero. In fact the prevailing evidence is they are a bunch of dopes.

How much do you want to guess that NO ONE at poltifact has a degree in accounting, business, science, law...etc.? My guess is they are a bunch of BA's in journalism. YOUNG BA's. They probably looked at exactly what Sean Davis quoted, got confused by the numbers and such, and decided to knock off for the day. or worse, they decided to cruise on over to Salon magazine to see what their take on the matter was.

So when they assign truthiness to something how do they work? They read it and say "does that sound RIGHT to me? I mean, c'mon. The Clintons are stealing money? That can't be right. Put it down as mostly false."
