"...blah blah blah h blah LEGITIMATE GRIEVANCES blah blah blah blah blah blah..."

The
race baiters know this and that is why they always throw in some phrase
like that. An unconditional condemnation of the violence and rioters is
never made. Not from this historic peace luvin' president.

9 Orioles Executive Vice President John Angelos:
“Brett, speaking only for myself, I agree with your point that the principle of peaceful, non-violent protest and the observance of the rule of law is of utmost importance in any society. MLK, Gandhi, Mandela, and all great opposition leaders throughout history have always preached this precept. Further, it is critical that in any democracy investigation must be completed and due process must be honored before any government or police members are judged responsible.

That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.

The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, an ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importance of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic, civil, and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ball game irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans.”

30 Has Obama/Lynch issued a statement on the riots yet. It will not calm things. Here is what the violent thugs will hear:

"...blah blah blah h blah LEGITIMATE GRIEVANCES blah blah blah blah blah blah..."
____________________

Larry Elder has an interesting column on police violence recently. He looked at actual crime statistics and found that there are more than twice as many white suspects killed by police in the U.S. than blacks (despite the disproportionately higher rate of black violent crime). He also found that, over the past few decades, the number of white suspects killed by police has been rising, while the number of black suspects killed by police has been declining.

So if anybody has a "legitimate grievance" about police violence, it's WHITE people, not blacks.

Of course, Obama and his ilk are not interested in any actual facts. They have their "we're victims!" narrative to push, and they're not about to let any actual facts get in the way of that.

I thought he made some good points. Some furniture manufacturer has a book out on their competing with Chinese imports. They found a knock-off of one of their products. They took it apart and realized there was no way they could be making it for the price they were selling it for. They then sent some people to find the manufacturer. They found the guy who promptly told them to sell out to them because the Chinese gov't would subsidize them for as long as it took to take over the business.

1. At the hint of a riot, curfew gets set and the batons and tear gas get used liberally.
2. No city welfare programs. If the state and Fed programs aren't enough, leave.
3. Aggressively tear down abandoned housing and offer the lots to the people next to the vacant lots. (Improve housing values)
4. Ignore the self-elected spokemen for every group.
5. Cut taxes.

Yes, I noticed that diatribe from the lefty Orioles executive didn't mention the effects on poor, jobless blacks of Obama's open-borders policies. It's not just outsourcing jobs overseas that is hurting blacks (and other low-skill Americans); it's also the mass importation into the U.S. of millions of low-skill, low-education foreigners who take the jobs that would otherwise be available for blacks and other Americans on the lower rungs of the socio-economic scale.

I also noticed that the Baltimore Orioles lefty didn't mention that much of the job outsourcing is being done by leftist corporations like Google and GE, that are big Obama-backers and big donors to the Dim party.

But hey, no doubt all our current social woes are the fault of the Koch Brothers . . . and Buuuuush!!!, of course.

Gotta give me credit: the first time I read that book (I was maybe 17) I actually did read it. The. Whole. Damn. Speech. Ditto for Howard Roark's uncontrolled babbling in The Fountainhead.

Next time, I skimmed. The first couple of sentences pretty much summed up the whole speech.

After that, I dog-eared the pages, so I could flip right to the point where the "story" picked up again.

Ayn Rand. What a gasbag.

Posted by: Anna Puma (+SmuD) at April 28, 2015 07:12 AM (nXqvU)

A novella, maybe? I was always taught a novel needs to come in around 80K words.

Here's a story I came across last night: there was an old man riding a city bus. In his lap he held a large bunch of flowers. Across from him sat a lovely young woman, whose eyes kept returning to the bouquet.

As the bus came to a stop, the man got up and gave the flowers to the girl. "I can see you love them," he said, "and I know they'll give you pleasure. I'm sure my wife won't mind; I'll tell her I gave them to you."

The girl then watched as the old man got off the bus, crossed the street and went through a gate. . .

. . .into a little cemetery.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

Take the cops from Wisconsin who enjoy busting heads so much (see "John Doe raids") and move them to Baltimore where they can terrorize the "citizens" (I use the term loosely here as they seem to be largely savages) there.

Then take the cops from Baltimore--who apparently just want to let their fellow "citizens" go about their "business" (again, I use the term loosely here)--to Wisconsin.

The cops who enjoy terrorizing their fellow Americans can take out their frustrations on the looters and rioters and the cops who just want to let their fellow Americans go in peace can do so in the woods and hills of the Midwest.

Wins all around!

166 Good morning all.
Delurking again to ask prayers for sweet baby Talia, age 1, whose surgery to remove 3 brain tumors begins in 56 minutes at Lurie Childrens Hospital here in chicago.
For those who missed it on the ONT last night, Talia's 3 year old brother Anthony has recently been battling cancer as well, gangioneuroblastoma.
You can see pics of these sweet children by googling Pisano Army.
Praying for the children, their family, and for skillful hands in rhe OR. Thanks in advance.

172 I thought I'd read some epic poems
I figured they were hard
But since I like his plays so much
I started with The Bard

I read and read and read some more
But if I'm being honest
I really couldn't care much less
For Venus and Adonis

So on I read and read some more
My boredom just increased
As pages turned and hours flew
And Tarquin raped Lucrece

A valuable lesson learned
So went my epic phase
Next time I want to read Shakespeare
I'll just stick to the plays.

I watched hooligans drive a stolen car over a bonfire until it caught fire last night. It bothered me on an existential level, and I think I figured out why.

Depending on how nice a car we're talking about, if you burn two of them you have destroyed the approximate value of everything I did last year, after the government tithes. That's getting up at 5:00, driving 80 miles to an office, sitting at a desk, answering to bosses, 230 times a year.

And it's not heavy lifting and I get to faff about in the HQ, but I can't just go fishing.

Adjust the value of the cars and that math probably works for most of you.

So they burn these cars. They're not my cars, I won't pay for them directly. But they are saying that the equivalent of my work product for a year is just something to burn, and that bothers me.

Posted by: dogfish at April 28, 2015 08:23 AM (1vYi0)

205 Left wing game plan:

1. Export jobs so that mankind will be tied together economically - thus ending the possibility of war - since war then becomes economic suicide.
2. Increase the welfare state for those whose jobs have been exported.
3. Blame capitalism and corporations when things unexpectedly don't work out.
4. Bring the jobs back by allowing the borders to be overflowed by yutes yearning to break in - just like the Statue of Liberty says.
5. Realize that depressed people do commit suicide - so yeah, war will still happen.
6. Absolve oneself of the enormous fustercluck one created by saying: "At least we tried... it would have worked if it weren't for those darned conservatives."
