It's not a good idea. We'd be better off simply enforcing the laws and customs that have served the country well for centuries. If the free-shitters and America-haters had to pay for their actions, they would be marginalized and powerless.

BTW, with all the furor over "Clinton Cash," can't help wondering what the last eight years would have been like if a fraction of the energy generated had been applied to vetting Choom Boy, who remains more corrupt and dangerous than Shrillery....

Aside from that, the left is only one third of the country at best. The other third are the LIV crowd. The problem is, thanks to Wilson, FDR and LBJ - as well as the Republican progressives who aided and abetted - the institutions of the government as well as the judiciary are in their hands. And to keep it that way, they took over academia from K-post doctoral. They will not cede power without a fight.

I got to tour Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Caesarea, Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, Jordan river, skipped the Golan Heights due to fog. Went to Acre, Haifa, Ashdod, skirted the Gaza strip on the way to Eilat. Went to Mayor Meir's house and saw where statehood was signed and toured the Ben Gurion home in the Negev.

I took 2,222 pictures and came away with an increased appreciation of the country. Oh, and the fountain in Eilat should be nationally famous.

I think the long knives have been out for Hilary for many reasons. Leading the way is SCoAMF and the Farsi Ferret. A) they personally hate the Clintons and B) they do not want Hilary, really 3rd term Bill, to triangulate and reverse (or at least significantly slow) the destruction of the previous 8 years. Hilary has always been a hardcore lefty; it was Bill who was the goniff that profited from the coup.

Aside from that Hilary has absolutely zero charm and is now turning into someone who resembles Ben Franklin's great uncle.

26 Just read Ace's storify thing on the ONT. I'm not in favor of "national divorce." Lincoln killed that theory back in the day. And bringing it up now is crazy talk.

I'm absolutely in favor of it. It will never happen, of course, since - despite their sneering disdain for "flyover country," the left knows in the depths of their shriveled, blackened hearts that the only reason their half-assed socialist paradises work is because there are enough Americans still around to be bled for tax money and honest labor.

But I am sick of the left. I am sick of their whining, their thievery, their identity politics and their entire existence. I want them gone, off to wallow in their own misery. A country where a creature like Bill Ayers can walk around freely is no longer America in any real sense. But it won't happen, so my only hope is to die before TSHTF.

Anyway. It's Monday, which means I have little to no time to post beyond this. So here's a picture of the silent actress Florence LaBadie, born this day in 1888:

Hope you all have a wonderful day. See you later, perhaps.

27 I think the divorce thing could work if you appeal to the progs vanity and self-righteousness. Let them have THEIR very own special place where everyone can co-exist without all those h8rs and cis whateverthe-f's etc. around. Tell them the fence (flaming moat) is to keep US in. Really don't think I'll miss my flaming A-hole b-i-l, though my sister's not soooo bad.

BTW, thanks to Vic for the news, I make a point of checking for them every morning.

Wazzup, JJ?

Regarding the strange media behavior toward Shrillery as opposed to Choom Boy: I seem to recall a certain reticence from the media toward laying out all the facts about Geraldine Ferraro when she ran for veepee, too (and there wasn't really much dirt that would stick to her), so I guess the real Historic Firsts always gonna get a free pass.

We will never achieve the necessary levels of racial equality until it is accepted that blacks can be as treasonous, corrupt and hateful as their white counterparts.

30 "11 @votermom

There is of course no practical way for this to happen without a second civil war. The powers that be won't allow it.

In recent weeks, the Left has stopped pretending and is openly trying to abolish all that's left of traditional, established civilization. They are going for broke and no longer care what anyone thinks. They openly want to throttle society with their agenda and think they can press their advantages home.

I see Mr Ace's comments as simply an open, unabashed counter-statement on behalf of our side--something along the lines of, "Those of us in the know really are DONE with the cultural and political left. There's an irreparable breach here, and there's no use pretending anymore."

Which is fine, but I don't see what practical import it can have. They aren't going to let us leave without a fight. Sorry, but it's not going to happen.

46 I support secession.

The hard Left now has a monopoly on both political power and the national discourse. Those of us who are not hard Left have no organized voice due to the total capitulation of the Republican party. As we have just witnessed with the last elections, voting will not correct this problem.

If it does nothing else, a popular secession movement would demonstrate that 1) we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more, and 2) we would prefer an alternative to civil war.

58 Kasich: 'Formidable' Hillary Clinton Could Win Ohio

"Anybody that underestimates Hillary Clinton makes a mistake," he said. "They underestimated her husband."

Kasich is considering his own run for the White House, but said he won't do so if he doesn't think he has a chance of winning or if he can't raise enough funding.

"I don't want to do it just to go and do it. I've got a big job in Ohio, and as governor," he said. "Either I feel like I can win or there is no reason to do it."

http://tinyurl.com/odjundk

Speaking as an Ohioan, no, there is no reason. He's a mediocre governor and a lousy Republican. To quote Avik Roy, "Kasich's 'Medicaid good, exchange-based coverage bad' is an argument I'd expect from Bernie Sanders, not a GOP prez candidate."

63 I'm all for a national divorce. Better now than the violence that is coming down the pike that everybody and their dead voting grandmother can see. It happened here in the 1840s and 1850s. People knew something bad was coming, they just didn't know when and how bad. Same situation now. People can feel it in the air. Government violence is coming; the government is stocking up for it. We the Hoi-Polloi just don't know when or in what severity.

1-800-DIVORCE is cheaper in the long run.

As for the comment above that the commies from Leftyland will attempt to infiltrate into Constitution Land, the problem is easily solved with proper signage: "Commies will be shot on sight. Survivors will be shot again."

Let the left starve due to their own beliefs/actions. I vote for Constitution Land and Freedom, not Leftyland and serfdom.

67 And for all this Hillary uranium mess...

What should not be pressed is the criminal element of this. They already have the "Where's the evidence?" talking point out there. Heard it from Earnest and from George S over the weekend.

The question to the White House should be is "Why did 7 Cabinet agencies and 19 (?) members of the Committee on Foreign Investments think this was a good idea?"

Hillary just made a profit off of approved policy.

A simple rejoinder to such a lame argument: When you shred the evidence, there is no shred of evidence left.

Use an IRS-company audit scenario: The IRS audits your company for a five year period. They want emails and spreadsheets covering a particular issue. You go back to the IRS and say, sorry, the server crashed, it's been trashed, we have no way of recovering that information; it's gone. I wonder how that'll work out for the company? Actually, I don't wonder.

Criminality is criminality and should not be ignored.

69 Whether one agrees or not with the reasons, the previous episode of secession in this country followed years of fighting over the extent of federal reach.

Seems to me we haven't yet tried that, where states attempt to tell the federal government to go pound sand. Until we do, our complaints are essentially political. We don't have the might to enforce OUR will in Washington.

If the deck is stacked against us there, the natural response is to pull back, draw a line around one's state's borders, and see what happens next. If they attempt to impose their will from without, then it's time to talk about separation. And war. One way or another.

That simple sentence opens not just a can of worms, but a whole friggin' case of cans of worms.

Thanks to Our Betters in D.C. (from both wings of the ruling Uniparty), we have long seen innumerable instances of public figures gaining power and wealth from activities they demand we proles stay away from.

Step One is to actively insist that everyone in the power structure obey the same laws that govern us. No exceptions. If that means putting everyone from Choom Boy down to the Representative from East Overshoe and all their myrmidons in the clink, so be it.

And this should not apply to a single law, or a single category of laws. It must apply to all laws.

Impulse Group South Florida, a gay HIV outreach group has come under fire for age discrimination. A massive pool party was thrown in Miami meant to spread word about the recently renovated Vagabond Hotel, a local landmark. Entrance into the highly publicized pool party was free to the public under the age of 40, but those 41 and above quickly realize that there would be a $50 cover fee if they wanted to join in the festivities. For a party that was being hashtagged on Instagram and Twitter with #JudgmentIsDirty, many felt as if judgment, and ageism, were in full effect.

"I'm amazed at the invite I just received -- free admission up to 40 years of age and $50 over 40," Ed Stevens, a would-be party goer said to South Florida Gay News. "In addition to whether this is even legal, it's a shocking and blatant attempt to exclude mature people..."

The problem is that Americans don't understand heir own Constitution. You see examples all the time of people advocating the Courts, Congress or the President do things that require amending the Constitution, but those folks are unaware of how our system works and uncaring.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-Ark.) on Sunday urged Republicans to exercise caution when referencing a controversial new book detailing Hillary Clinton's financial dealings. "Republicans need to be careful not to overstate the case, There's no evidence of quid pro quo," he told host Chuck Todd on NBCs Meet the Press. "There is evidence of mistakes," Hutchinson added of Clintons fiscal decisions.

Hutchinson on Sunday argued the expose was unlikely to sway partisan voters. Its true impact, he charged, would impact centrists within the American electorate. "Everything about the Clintons is complicated," the governor concluded.

What most historians miss in all this crap is the fact that the Constitution was a written contract between the States. When a major portion of the States on one side ceased to abide by the contract is became null and void.

And now it is even less than null and void. Obama uses it to wipe his ass.

If the hardest part of a divorce - the financial settlement - is handled properly, even a socialist paradise will work well for a number of years.

This is where the accumulated wealth of the assets of the country, horded over the centuries by our forefathers, is valued, monetized and used to provide a fresh start for both new countries.

If people are more comfortable with a physical area and border between left and right, the dissolution of the country's treasure chest would make the relocations easy.

143 If we ever do get a Convention of the States, we need to add what I call the "Killswitch Amendment."

If more than 50% of states pass a referendum calling for the National Killswitch Referendum, it's held at the earliest convenience. What the Killswitch Referendum would do is pretty profound, and necessary in our case and possibly in future cases:

1. Vacate all Federal Government positions, elected or politically-appointed, and the entire bureaucratic apparatus.

2. Void all Federal law and regulation aside from the Constitution.

3. Restart with nothing but the Constitution and fresh elections for elected office.

4. Forbid all who were in office at the time that their positions were forcibly vacated from ever holding another position in the Federal Government.

Yep, you can sense it already. People are slowly deciding it doesn't make sense to follow the rules when the rules are used highly selectively. If it does turn into a full blown tyranny, a lot of those minions running around now are going to find out they are as expendable as anyone else. 150 Good morning, everyone.

Brief update on my battle with Leukemia.

First off, it's ass is being thoroughly kicked, and my Hematologist expects complete remission of the disease, (though this determination will require another bone marrow biopsy in a couple months). Still, my weekly blood tests look very good.

My spleen is gradually shrinking, and I've gone a whopping seven days without a blood transfusion! Seven days! To date, I've been given more than 40 units of red blood cells, and I'll require more in the short term, until my bone marrow recovers from the chemo.

Today, blood test, and possible transfusion. I'm hoping that my white blood cell count is > 0. Until it is, I'm bubble boy without a bubble.

Depends on what sense of each term you mean.

The only historical instance of a Restoration I'm aware of was in England, after Cromwell's Interregnum. Restoration being the rightwards equivalent of a Revolution gives you an idea of how rare that is.

I suppose you could look towards the Soviet case for a 'rightwards' turn as well, yet that obviously wasn't a restoration.

Of course, I know you mean in the sense of 'progressive to conservative' in the American sense of those terms. Those are too new to have that kind of history, I'd say.

Well, I guess it depends on whether or not you think that America is still alive. I have made the analogy to the animated corpses in "Walking Dead" before and I think that the reelection of Barack Obama in 2012 gives credence to that theory. The zombies have the external form and are using the bodies of people who have died but they are not those people any more.

Would it take a war to separate? Possibly not. It would not surprise me if soon after inauguration every new governor of Texas has a visit from some Russian emissary from Vladimir Putin telling him that if he announces secession, the Russians will deliver two dozen nuclear weapons and delivery systems and agree to buy as many F-16s as Lockheed Martin can manufacture in Fort Worth. Those two dozen nukes should hold the line until the Pantex plant can crank up full production.

The big winner in such an event would be Putin and Russia. Instead of an occasional adversary in North America he would have one ideological ally and one client state. The big losers would be Ukraine, Georgia, Poland and the other former Warsaw Pact nations.

I would say that the United States did so twice within living memory. In 1968 the election of Richard Nixon was a rejection of LBJ and the whole Great Society program. Yes, by today's standards Richard Nixon was not much of a conservative but at the time he caused a major shock to leftists who had to face the concept that history was not a one way ratchet. The second time was when Ronald Reagan was elected in 1980.
