10 I apologize for reposting from last thread (but I got there late).

This is my new working theory on the HRC presidential run. I'll add that I think HRC would gladly become President if it were going to be easy - which it does not look like it will be. But I think there is an added benefit of her running. So my theory from last thread:

"Try this theory out. HRC is running for presidency to cover for all her shady (illegal) dealings. When she bows out of the race, she and those around her will effectively receive a public pardon from the country - she is gone, so no need to investigate her further (that will be the mindset - wouldn't be my mindset)."

Just a fun Friday conspiracy theory.

Nah, I think Hillary! is for real.

I just don't think the rest of the D party (especially the D establishment) is on board.

First off, the Clintons made a million enemies getting to where they are now. Secondly, Hillary! is seen as just another opportunistic politician, unlike Bill who was seen as a good ol' boy. Or Obama who was seen as a Christ-like savior and redeemer.

They want a class warrior next. Warren, maybe O'Malley, or deBlasio. Hillarys time has come and gone.

The newly found reservoir lies 12-28 miles below the surface, and is four-and-a-half times larger than the shallower, hot melted rock zone that powers current Yellowstone geysers and caused the caldera's last eruption some 70,000 years ago.

60 Hillary Clinton is a bobo doll. Punch it as hard as you want. It pops back up with that same stupid grin on it's face. The only way she stops running for president is if she dies. I figure 30% don't give a crap what she does and 10% hate the GOP enough where it doesn't matter. The fight is over around 15-20% of the electorate. Also keep in mind the GOP will have to double the actual margin of victory to cover voter fraud.

Yeah, but I mean...

For example, I was talking to a liberal recently about TV shows and he said, I like House of Cards, but it's just not believable at all. I mean, our congressmen and government doesn't work anything like that haha

And I showed him the Bill Clinton quote to Kevin Spacey (Kevin, 99 percent of what you do on that show is real.) and he said, no, thats fake. Kevin Spacey just made it up.

Fine.

But the thing is, I'm sure that House of Cards is much closer to reality than The West Wing, and yet most of america (while they know there is corruption) think The West Wing is closer to reality. And I mean... its demonstrably not.

They're not coming from an ideological "middle ground".

That's been a myth hoisted on Republicans (and probably Democrats) by their "brilliant" campaign consultants.

That there is a huge group of ideologically neutral people who are engaged, smart, but just too pragmatic to attach themselves to one party. That group does not exist.

There are low info idiots who vote on meaningless things like how "presidential" someone looks.

There are pissed off conservatives / libertarians who identify as independent and are more likely to stay home then vote R, but who will never vote D.

And there are pissed off socialists / communists who identify as independent but would rather die then vote R.

So there's no large mass of "undecided" truly swayable "right down the middle" types.

No, you have to appeal to your base, and ideologically similar (yet dissatisfied) independents.

The "center" doesn't exist in any kind of large numbers or any kind of reliable voter bloc.

They don't win or lose elections.

This is what Obamas team was saying after 2012. They lost independents, but still won. They say their strategy was to ignore "the center" and cater to the base and try to drive turn up.

That's how you win elections.

2008 was an anomaly with the whole "historic" thing.

I think charities should pay the same flat federal income tax rate as any other corporation in my perfect world.

And not because I want to punish charitable giving, but because too many of these charities are front organizations for liberal activists trying to get rich quick in between campaigns.

They take millions in "charity" from political donors then use that money on themselves. All tax free, all legal, but uh... not really "charity" by anyones definition.

The idea is to extend HIGH. SPEED. RAIL. to where the border used to be (assuming anyone can remember), pick up trainloads of wetbacks, each of whom will bring a bucket of water from the Rio Grande with him. Then we'll zip them up north and have them dump their buckets of water into the habitat of the delta smelt, which, unlike everyone else in California, is doing just fine.

Yeah, I forget what their "pass-through" rate is, but it's reallly low.

Which is true of most charities. You're lucky if $.25 on the dollar goes to whatever cause they're supporting.

The rest goes to pay lavish salaries, advertise for more money, put on "charity events" which are big fancy parties for the administrators of the charity and their donors.

... and whatever else they waste money on.

Kind of like government.

That hot spot is the result of a mantle plume, which is indeed shown in the illustration, that has been moving southeasterly (or, more correctly, the continent has been moving northwesterly over it), for many millions of years. Same hotspot gave rise to the Peace River arch in northwestern Alberta (which is entirely sub-surface, but we have drilled into it), and the Sweetgrass Hills on the Alberta-Montana border.
