Early Morning Thread 4/12/15: Kraka is flyin' today on a plane. [krakatoa]

Philly though, not Spain. So I'll take the relatively short travel time as a win.

Time to dust off the old restaurant suggestions and give them a try, since the last time I was there the weather was so bad I didn't want to even cross the street.

Hope the horde's Sunday is more relaxed than mine.

2 Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, April 12, 2015. On this day in 1945 U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt died while in office; Vice President Harry Truman, became President upon Roosevelt's death. Both are celebrated as being among the "best" Presidents in History. That is the liberal media at work. FDR did more to destroy the US than any President in history until the Choom came along. And the crook Truman continued his policies. We still have not recovered from FDR's long and terrible reign which resulted in packing the Supreme court with liberal idealogs who believed the end justified the means, and it was always a liberal end.

3 The Choom blames opposition to his sellout to Iran on partisan politics and fails to explain why all the other countries as well as his own party oppose it as well. What-the-hey, what's one more lie from this traitorous SOB?

34 Vic; Unions have always been about keeping their neighbors (unless they're union too) from having a decent wage.

No one thinks about this but Unions only work if the majority of the rest of the workers are working for less than Union scale.

Otherwise the price of goods would go up and that Union wage wouldn't be quite so valuable anymore.

They NEED people working for less than minimum (just not in the particular trade or business the Union is currently sucking dry).

They've ALWAYS been for increased illegal immigration and wage minimums because illegals make professionals look better (regardless of how industrious they are, they're still illiterate castoffs of their home countries.) And minimum wages can be used to raise Union contract pay.

So if you're not in a Union and you've got Union friends? They're SCREWING you and your children so they can have a cushy life and retire early on YOUR money. And if they're in a Gov't Union (which most are these days) YOU'll be paying for their retirement too.

All guilds and brotherhoods have always been about thievery from the common weal.

After all, with no job, no life, and little prospects of that changing I have all the time in the world.

I do have free birth control and a place on my parents health insurance (Thanks Obama!) -- not to mention my basement bedroom -- to be thankful for. Who needs a job when I have such abundance at my fingertips?

The unions, especially in the public sector since private sector unions are all about feeding the Demokrat Partei. As Rush stated, that was what the Stimulus was - a Dem money laundering operation that saved union pension funds, which when replenished, skimmed off perhaps billions from dues and then sent to the party for campaign contributions.

Jeez, these guys make the Mafia (if it really did/does exist) look like a penny-ante operation. Small potatoes, in the words of Hyman Roth.

47 To be honest, I'm inclined to see a Democrat in Office because I think this is the period when it all falls apart and I don't want even a Obama dick sucking Republican to be in power so that they can be blamed for the resulting crash.

Herbert Hoover did more to help alleviate the Depression than FDR did in all three terms but Herb's the one that got the blame.

I see another wave coming. So let it be the worst baby boomer to ever get close to being President be there to take the fall.

Doesn't matter who's in office for me cause because of my age and health, once the economy collapses, the time I'll have left on this Earth will be measured in months if not weeks.

I'll go down swinging but a ten year old could kick my ass these days.

Sorry to burst your bubble (no pun) but Hoover's initial actions made things worse and then FDR used that as the pretext to ramp up the statism. Much like Bush at the end of '08.

It took me forever to stop thinking in terms of political parties and more in terms of political movements, i.e. "Progressivism" and "Constitutional Conservatives.

Remember: there was a crash in 1920 about as bad as 1929. And what did Calvin Coolidge do? Nothing. The result was the Roaring 20's. By the way, his chief economic adviser - who desperately wanted Cal to "do something!" was none other than Hoobert Heever.

My feeling, and I mean this as no offense to anyone since I have a number of homosexual acquaintances, is it is either a chosen deviance or indeed a mental disorder. Neither one, in a sane rational world, has any of the bona fides as a political movement. But it is, just like every other racial/religious minority and dames.

All of the above are merely used as weapons to overturn the past and pave the way for the new order/paradise on earth. And when that is achieved, they will be discarded if not ground into powder.

You probably won't be able to get one. Like "health care," other benefits will have to be rationed by Our Democrat Overlords, with only those "most in need" (and they neither look, vote or live like you) getting the bennies.

That will come after they have equalized wealth so no evil millionaires (exempting Good Millionaires like their big-donor tech buddies and all lottery winners who bought their tickets in Inner Cities) can Oppress the People with their ill-gotten lucre.

So you'll need assistance, but it will all go to victims of The Man. Until, that is, the last middle-class working white male has been exterminated.

Posted by: Golfman in NC at April 12, 2015 07:42 AM (48QDY)

SC has always had some strange beer and liquor laws. The beer laws have been changed to allow sales at the beach and other touristy places. The rest of us have to vote in Sunday sales county by county. That will never happen in my county with a church on every block.

Liquor sales fall under a different category. No sales at all allowed from 7 pm Saturday until 9 am Monday. Private clubs may sell by the drink provided they obtain a Sunday sales license for each individual Sunday they sell (and it is expensive as hell).

116 I saw ZZ Top last night -- I think they had to sneak off a few times to hit the oxygen masks, but they can still ROCK. They even played some Hendrix.

The MS Gulf Coast is currently hosting Black Spring Break for the 7th or 8th year or so. The arrest count for the first two days is a total of... Four. Shit, we have that many arrests at a typical two hour Mardi Gras parade.

BSB has an interesting history here. The first year was both a nightmare AND a disaster. Traffic was uncontrolled, so the beach highway stopped moving entirely. The police presence wasn't, so lawlessness reigned so strongly that the Biloxi beach mall had to close; there were shootings and rapes and property destruction galore.

Year Two was the crackdown -- I think every attendee was arrested twice, and the cop store ran out of wooden shampoo. I'm exaggerating (slightly), but you get the picture. They were trying to run the event off, to put it bluntly.

But the event has steadily evolved, with more organized things to do and central places to congregate. Yes, there is a heavy police presence but as long as you don't act stupid and you don't block traffic you won't get to meet the cops up close and personal. The rules are spelled out via those programmable lighted highway signs.

The result is a pretty safe and growing event; I kinda wonder if the parents of these mostly black teens prefer their children come here as they know it now has a pretty good rep for being a safe venue.

*facepalm*

No carbon footprint? They're squatting in an abandoned greenhouse. How do they dispose of their bodily waste?

152 The Toady Show was on in my house this morning. NBC has its Shrillery love-fest going in fully cry. It doesn't get in the way of their continuing adoration of Choom Boy, though. One has to wonder what she can do to top the Mocha Messiah's Historic!!11!! dealings with the Coo-bans....

Chuck Turd -- who reminds me more and more of a lefty Poppin' Fresh -- opines that Cankles is a Sure Thing for the nomination. She will, of course, be able to put all this idiotic controversy about her shady dealings behind her and will be nominated and subsequently elected. She is Inevitable!

As worthless, crooked and unappealing as she is, I can't yet gin up the level of disgust for her that I feel for Choom Boy. I literally have to leave the room when they show video of him talking. Virtually all on his own, he has made me a racist. That bugs the hell out of me.

So have I. I even lived, for a time, in South-Central L.A., a place where I was a distinct minority. I interacted with neighbors, shopped in the local stores, ate in the local restaurants, never feeling the slightest qualm about being around the people I interacted with.

Choom Boy -- and all the hype surrounding him as a Black Man Who Has Reached the Top and Exemplifies His People -- makes me feel as if there is something inherently wrong with black people. I hate that.

172 ... and this, from the Washington Post ...

This is called the Democratic Whackjob Survey, and I propose that all Democrats take it. There are eight questions and the answers will be tallied to give you a score on the whack-o-meter.

And yes, all of these are based on well-known Democratic positions . . .

- Do you believe abortion should be unrestricted and that even just a late-term abortion restriction is proof that there is a Republican "War on Women"?

- Do you think the government should punish institutions that employ or host scientists who question claims about the impact of "man-made global warming"?

- Do you believe that President Obama's foreign policy has been mostly effective?

- Do you want to raise taxes as a way to combat income inequality?

- Do you think we should raise Social Security benefits?

- Do you believe that after Obama's 2009 inauguration, the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal?

- Do you think Obamacare is effective and worth the cost?

- Do you turn up the volume on the television whenever Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz gives an interview?

And finally, a bonus question, since Carter promised eight questions in his survey but only delivered seven:

Bonus Question: Do you think the Rev. Al Sharpton should continue to act as an adviser to the next president of the United States?

178 PANAMA -- President Obama fiercely defended the framework nuclear agreement with Iran on Saturday and criticized those Republicans he said were politicizing foreign policy and working to derail the deal.

"I don't understand why it is that everybody's working so hard to anticipate failure," Mr. Obama said of the negotiations to hammer out a final nuclear accord, during a news conference at the end of a summit meeting of Latin American nations here. "My simple point is let's wait and see what the deal is."
... wait a second, I thought there was a deal, so why do we have to keep wating ?
... or was that a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal to have negotiations to have a deal ?

181 That Walmart video is pure chaos. The cops lose complete control of the situation. There is even one guy who keeps popping in and out and fighting with the family. The cops don't seem to work together but get into individual fights. It's just a mess. Of course it follows the rule of don't fight guys with guns. I wish there was footage of what happened before the brawl.

Bruce, rolling on the ground after getting tased isn't some sort of key to "they've done this before." It's knowledge you can pick up anywhere.

Absolutely, Viv. You grew up during the same time period as I did (born in 1947). The 50's and the early 60's were the pinnacle. By 1968 (I was serving in the army by then), the times, and the country were changing rapidly, and not for the better. As you said, by the 80's, it was a much different country. My son was born in 1983, and I often tell him that he will never know the country or the freedoms that I have known.

190 From the ONT (two comments; Laurie David's Cervix) but I'm hoping the leak is traced back to the White House and Obama's staff:

The first four episodes of the new season of Game of Thrones have been leaked online to torrent sites just a day before the shows return.

According to several online reports, the torrents are definitely real. They are likely to have come from someone who had access to preview screeners of the first four episodes, which were released to reviewers ahead of the premiere.

The leaked episodes are in 480p (not in high definition), have their on-screen watermark blurred out, and come from a private tracker.

Growing up in the Bronx of the '50s and '60s, any mention of Philly required a recitation of the local folk wisdom on that subject. More specifically,

Philly."

Please note, math majors sometimes struggle with this.

Way, way late I know, but 'let's not go on about who killed who' is a line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It comes when the Lord of Swamp Castle is trying to forcibly adopt his rival's daughter and wed her to the noble but dangerous Sir Lancelot (Cleese).

See, I read the post. (walks off, crying quietly to self)
