1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Wednesday, April 01, 2015. April Fool's Day sometimes called All Fool's Day. The big news last year on this date was that the Michigan Legislature passed a resolution calling for an Art V convention for a balanced budget. There was some question on whether or not it was binding because some of the States who had called for the convention had voted to recall their vote. I guess that question was answered because there has been none called. The idea scares the crap out of Congress.

5 AR has passed a religious freedom bill similar to the one passed IN. And that is similar to the federal law. There is nothing new here folks and the gaystapo is FOS when they say it will be an excuse to "discriminate" against gays. It is designed to prevent the State from discriminating against people of religion who do not agree with the gay lifestyle.

45 For JJ Sefton, thanks about the reminder.

In the early hours of 1 April 1945 the US 10th Army, commanded by General Simon Bolivar Buckner, began landing on the island of Okinawa - the main island of the Ryukyu group, 106km ( 66 miles ) long and between 4.8 and 16.1km ( 3 and 10 miles ) across. The operation was the largest amphibious assault yet taken in the Pacific and involved nearly 550,000 personnel, including 180,000 combat troops.

So one time we rented a car, and drove up to the northish side of Oki, where there is a large MWR area.

That was the first time that I really had a chance to see the Okinawa countryside, and gain a perspective of just exactly how challenging the terrain and vegetation was when trying to advance on foot. And that is without the additional challenge of the enemy trying to kill you as well.

________________________

There will be many, many more of these before Obama leaves office.

It is an article of faith among the left in academia that federal drug laws are the new "slavery" and federal prisons are the new "plantations" which Evil Whitey uses to keep the Virtuous Black Man under his thumb. (There are reams of academic articles on this subject).

If you haven't been in college or grad school studying law or criminology or sociology in the past decade or so, you may have missed it. But trust me, Obama and his fellow travelers are true believers in this crapola, so the man who believes he is the modern-day Lincoln will do everything he can to free as many modern-day "slaves" as possible.

I have said several times in the past if it was left up to me I would eliminate all federal drug laws. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives the federal government authority to regulate drugs.

We spend trillions of dollars on this "dug war" and we lost it long ago. Not only that, but we lost a lot of our freedoms while doing it too. Make being drug free a condition of welfare and eliminate all federal laws. If the States want to throw money into this bottomless pit let them have at it.

Not an April Fools joke.

Obama's 'Quickie' Union Favor

Congress voted to kill an anti-business rule. The President preserved it.

You probably won't read it anywhere else, but on Tuesday President Obama did another giant favor for his friends in organized labor. He used his presidential authority to scupper a legislative challenge to the National Labor Relations Board's ambush-election rule.

In December 2014, the NLRB passed a final rule on a partisan 3-2 vote that greatly shortens the time for a workplace union-organizing election. This fits the pattern of the Obama-era labor board, which has been as biased toward organized labor as any in decades. So in March Congress employed a useful tool known as the Congressional Review Act to pass a resolution to overturn the new regulation. Mr. Obama issued a "memorandum of disapproval"---essentially a veto---to kill the Congressional measure and preserve the NLRB rule.

From now on unions will have unlimited time to prepare their campaigns to organize a workplace, springing the election paperwork on an employer when they figure they have the best chance to prevail. By reducing the time before an election to as little as two weeks from the current average of 38 days, unions will be able to lobby workers and make their case before a company can counter with its own argument. According to the Labor Relations Institute, unions win 89% in elections held in under two weeks compared to two thirds of the time under what have been typical election procedures.

The quickie rule also forces the employer to give the union personal information about employees, including personal cell phone numbers and email addresses. So much for employee privacy rights.

I'd actually have no problem with your suggestion. My problem is with the racist aspect of the situation. It isn't just blacks who are caught up in these federal drug laws (although the laws disproportionately affect blacks because blacks are disproportionately committing all types of crimes, including drug crimes). And the federal drug laws didn't morph and expand the way they did as a stealth means of "enslaving" blacks; it was just another manifestation of the federal government's never-ending quest for power and control over our lives. But you'd never know any of that by reading the academic literature, which is all about the blatant raaaaaacism.

...Imagine my surprise when I learned recently that the man who threatened me with death for apostasy is being paid by the U.S. Justice Department to teach Islam in American jails...

...Several U.S. prison chaplains have been exposed in recent years as sympathetic to radical Islam, including Warith Deen Umar, who helped run the New York State Department of Correctional Services' Islamic prison program for two decades, until 2000, and who praised the 9/11 hijackers in a 2003 interview with this newspaper....

...Testifying in 2011 before the House Committee on Homeland Security, Michael P. Downing, head of the Los Angeles Police Department's Counterterrorism and Special Operations Bureau, said that in 2003 it was estimated that 17%-20% of the U.S. prison population, some 350,000 inmates, were Muslims, and that "80% of the prisoners who convert while in prison, convert to Islam." He estimated that "35,000 inmates convert to Islam annually."...

...In January 2010 John Kerry, who was then chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released a report warning that "three dozen U.S. citizens who converted to Islam while in prison have traveled to Yemen, possibly for al Qaeda training."...

"Convert to Islam" is in this context a misnomer, an oxymoron.

Conversion in prison would have to involve a religion that caused you to repent of the evil you have done.

Islam just allows violent thugs to rationalize their violent thuggish behavior, while adding discipline and a community of other violent thugs. Kind of like a gang. I suggest "join the Islam gang" rather than "convert".

Absolutely. Lets move the government to a secret location, high in the Andes Mountains, with no phone lines or visible electricity lines. Send all ambitious politicos there, after they've risen to some designated level. Promise them power, wealth and lots of lobbyists clamoring to buy them drinks. 199 I'm wondering how Obama is going to mandate the reduction of airline emissions 30% as part of his plan to save the world from energy use. I imagine it will involve a reduction of flights flying by 30% as there really are no savings to be had by reducing weight or going electric in airplanes. Which will mean a lot less travel for certain people, those not connected to the ruling class.

Reading what Obama and the Dems have in store regarding carbon emissions is like reading some dystopian fantasy but it is playing out in front of our eyes. The Dems very well may get away with it thanks to years of brainwashing and propaganda. Silver lining is I doubt here will be much immigration, legal a or illegal afterwards as this will absolutely destroy the economy.

I talked with a lady at the dog park yesterday who was going to do exactly that, except she was going to give one undisturbed one to her husband first.

She said it was revenge for never getting invited to any her husband's company parties.

I wonder if the two are connected ...

261 Hamid Baeidinejad, the Iranian foreign ministrys director general for political and international security affairs, told Irans state controlled Press TV on Tuesday that the issue of sanctions against the Ayatollahs regime has been resolved.

The senior member of Tehrans negotiating team told Press TV that the P5+1 countries have agreed to remove the oil, gas, and banking sanctions against the Iranian regime.

264 This is getting hilarious. Congress is so ineffectual, Jason Chafetz can't even investigate Secret Service security lapses endangering the life of the President.

He asked to interview two SS agents and they weren't produced. He issued subpoenas and Homeland Security Head Political Hack Jeh Johnson (what kind of name is "Jeh"?) told him to screw off.

(BTW, this will infuriate Greta. She has this old fashioned notion about subpoenas, and thinks they have legal force or something.)

Anyway, WTF? Congress has to defund Homeland Sec to get two measly guys to testify about non-political matters? WT-actual-F?

281 A series of mysterious pulsing signals coming from outside our solar system form a strange unexplained pattern, researchers have revealed.

Known as Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs), just 10 have been discovered

Now a new study has found that all 10 bursts' dispersion measures are multiples of a single number: 187.5

Scientist discover the 187.5 bursts are a language discovered 4000 years ago and the bursts of frequency is speaking to us ;
