Uh, yeah, for the first three weeks that's about right, and a whole lot more. But it works. Then you can gradually bring in stuff to see what your "triggers" are. First few weeks suck but it's sure nice to feel normal. Fried foods are a killer for me.

32 If (if!) 51% or more of the American public is ignorant enough to support something so obviously stupid, you'd think the Washington Post would want to conceal that fact. After all, they're one of the main organizations informing the American public, so it would be a terrible reflection on the job they've been doing.

"To save its business, McDonald's needs to ditch burgers and focus on what makes it great
Updated by Matthew Yglesias"

And of course the great irony is that Matt Yglesias is the one who should be ditching McD's. Ezra should not be allowing him to pursue such stories, for the sake of his health.

Pretty sure any clarification will not mollify the activists.

Basically what we have is a full frontal assault on the underpinnings of our constitutional republic and the raising of homosexuals "right" to cakes over that of an individual's religious liberties.

So once again the progressives are reading things into the constitution that do not exist in the text of the document even in an emanation of a pnumbra and reading out something explicitly stated. See also abortion and gun rights.

I have a 1996 F-150 V8. Only problem I have has was a cast iron coolant nipple that rusted through after decades of use. Back when I had a subscription to Consumer Reports they did an article on Ford trucks. They made a comment that there were more F-150 trucks on the road than any other vehicle and there must be a reason for that.

I have had many offers from people to buy my truck even though I have never put it on the market. I will never sell it.

Having seen absolutely endless examples of the sort of weaselly BS push polling in which lefty media outlets engage, to help "shape the narrative" of their reportage.

If I were a typical lazy LIV and some pollster called up and told me that my choices were between (a) getting a deal which would keep Iran from going nuclear, with ironclad verification of their having done so, backed up by tough penalties, or on the other hand, (b) having no deal at all, with Iran promptly getting the bomb and igniting an incredibly dangerous regional nuclear arms race probably leading to war, I would be responding by saying, "What are you, fucking nuts? Of course we should do this deal!"

But those aren't actually the choices available. Not even close.

There were big stories about Heckler ampersand Koch being in trouble. Financial and management crises and oh by the way the G36, which is the standard issue Sturmgewehr, doesn't shoot straight.

Since it's been standard issue since 1996 I wondered why they were just noticing. Well, they had just used it for target practice from '96 on. Now they have troops in Afghanistan and they're the ones who complained. Germans being German they did a year long study and found that the guys in the field using it to not get dead have a point.

Anyway, I may not consider cake decorating high art, but there is some level of artistry involved. Something about a government forcing an artist to produce a product that they find repugnant -- whether for personal, religious, or aesthetic reasons -- just grates on my last nerve. 185 Just weighing in on the pickup truck debate:

This business of using aluminum for weight reduction elides a key question. They're not proposing to make the entire truck body and frame out of aluminum. Only discrete sections thereof. The mixing of aluminum and steel components has proven very problematic in the past with regard to long-term durability, in a bunch of industries. Different mechanical properties and different galvanic corrosion properties.

Also, the United Auto Workers need to collectively die in a fire.

There are some very nice pickup trucks not built by the UAW goons and not made of questionable types of metal.

Maybe it gets 'em clicks, but this is how I feel after reading Vox or Kohn:

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic
things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent
response were you even close to anything that could be considered a
rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having
listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your
soul."

191 In Israel, it has been the law for some time, that all new properties have to have a bomb proof room. Now, thanks to Obama, they're going to need to upgrade them to be able to withstand nuke blasts.

I remember like it was yesterday: I had just arrived at a Kibbutz in Northern Israel right near the border with Lebanon. Nobody was out. Finally found someone and told them I was the volunteer Dentist for the next 3 months. I got shown to my room and was shown were the Dental Clinic was. I was beat tired. That night the bombs- katyusha rockets - started falling. My room was rockin and rolling. The next morning at breakfast ( I did find the chow hall) they asked me why I was not in the bomb shelter? I said "What Bomb Shelter"? I am sure they all thought- "Stupid American"

Curious fans and critics, eager to learn more about the South African comedian, have been combing the Internet for clues, and have turned up troubling comments about Israel and Jews that have some wondering if the new host will, like Stewart (Leibowitz), take to hiding his Jewish-sounding name to avoid controversy. (I kid.)
