7 The Reason Why Obama Hasn't Been Helping Nigeria Fight Boko Haram Will Make You Sick

Would you believe that there's a presidential election coming up in Nigeria, and Obama's favored Muslim candidate is in a tight race against the Christian President Goodluck Jonathan?

And would you further believe that a political consulting group founded by Obama confidante David Axelrod is assisting that candidate - Retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari - who hails from Muslim-dominated northern Nigeria from whence Boko Haram was spawned?

56 So according to the link, the Fed doesn't have a clue what will happen when they raise interest rates as they have injected way too much money form the federal funds market pool during the last failed six years of stimulus spending.

57 Tracinskis article only obliquely mentions the most important quality needed in a nominee, that being he or she is able to supervise a great campaign. After the debacle that was the Romney effort I can't believe he didn't even mention this most important factor.

Romney (he who was famously a great manager) completely failed in this one regard, which, specifically, was that he allowed his consultants way too much control over the mechanics of his campaign. In so doing, Romney completely, utterly and fatally missed the fraud that was his GOTV effort. The campaign never even tested the GOTV program, if you can believe it. Romney just assumed the program he paid so much to build had been tested by his crack team of professional Democrats, errr, consultants. McVain similarly put way too much faith in his deeply stupid failure of a campaign manager, Steve Schmidt and we all saw what a train wreck that ridiculous campaign became.

Having seen these campaigns fail so spectacularly its pretty obvious what the most important quality is in the next nominee. We need a hands-on politician who is smart enough to win on policy even while understanding the mechanics of actually running a winning campaign, and not just a candidate "who can win". We need a guy who doesn't take anyone's word for it, but checks for himself.

Yes, a psychologist interviewed in the tabloid Bild yesterday said he would have rehearsed this in his head hundreds of times.

If the as yet undisclosed medical condition might have kept him from flying (again, he was not supposed to fly on the day of the crash) he may have seen this as his last chance.

83 The cockpit voice recorder for that Germanwings flight captured the sound of the co-pilot's breathing. So the conclusion was he was conscious, and keeping the door locked was deliberate.

The recorder captured the sound of the co-pilot breathing over the sounds of the pilot beating on the door while trying to break it down, and over the sounds of the frightened passengers.

It was reported on the 'net; apparently leaked to the media by insiders with knowledge.

Of course we can trust the news media and their unnamed inside sources who are not authorized to speak to the media.

84 Or he'd flown with the guy before and knew he always took a bathroom break and just waited for it.

It's a pretty safe bet that any senior pilot flying a jumbo jet has quite a few gray hairs. Also, at that age, not a huge capacity to hold his bladder for a couple hours.

He probably knew the routine; senior pilot takes off, assumes cruising altitude, and hits the john while he takes over.

100 Fed Prepares Rate Hike

Oh. Goody.

I'm about half-serious on that.

We've been punishing savers/investors for 6+ years; it's time to let them earn some interest.

Nevertheless, it's going to suck big donkey balls because of how deeply in debt we are.

102 If the Fed raises interest rates, it will make it impossible to roll over the federal debt; impossible to refinance it, impossible to pay it down, impossible for the federal government to do anything else like welfare payments, defense spending, or pay federal employee's paychecks.

Tenthette and I were talking about a similar subject just yesterday- how the family unit is the basic building block of civilization. How it teaches trust (and sometimes when not to...), and cooperation, and other such things.

Somehow it had escaped her notice that "trust" is required for an economy to work. We were at Chick-fil-A, and I pointed out that trust was involved from beginning to end.

We trusted the girl behind the counter to enter our order correctly. We trusted her to run my debit card for the right amount. They, meanwhile, trusted that they would be paid (had they not been, they could have withheld our food, but they would already have begun preparing it). We trusted that the food wouldn't poison us. And so forth.

Heh.

Good news! She's getting married (to a guy who has been married five times already and has five kids by four different women) and moving to a crappy little town south of Austin, TX. Most of the dinner was her bitching about Ted Cruz and how stupid everyone in TX is because the Rethuglikkkans won't pay to have them educated, although she did get in some bashing of Pence for the religious freedom bill, and the fact that half the customers at her fabric store cutting counter can't do fractions (nevermind that they all went to fourth grade 10-50 years before Pence took office, it's his fault Hoosiers can't math).

Democrats Are Sending Out Deranged Fundraising Emails Again

you have to read the whole thing -- the ending especially, but here's a snippet

The moon over Washington was blood red. The Ghost of Foul-Ups Past emerged from his cave. Stroking a hairless cat named Halliburton, he moved silently through the roomful of lobbyists, plutocrats and fat cats, his cape trailing in the mist. Though crowded, the room was suddenly cold, chilled from the icy presence of former Vice President Voldemort. As he stood atop the podium to address his minions, flames shot from his fingertips and sulfur steamed out of his nose. His eyes glowed red as he inhaled deeply, sucking in the souls of every man and woman in the room, turning them into his private malevolent army of flying monkeys.

At least that's what I imagine the Dick Cheney fundraiser for House Republicans Tuesday night was like.

Good news, everyone! Shorter commutes:

California will no longer bar all registered sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of a school or park, instead applying such restrictions on a case-by-case basis, state corrections officials announced Thursday.

The move comes after a state Supreme Court ruling this month which found that Jessicas Law was unconstitutional and did not protect the public. In 2006, California voters approved the law restricting where sex offenders could live.

222 That was a group called Moms Demand Action. They were opposed to the fact that our policy is to adhere to the local gun laws. If the local gun laws are to allow open carry, we'll certainly allow customers to do that based on what the local laws are. We don't believe it's up to us to legislate what the local gun control laws should be. It's up to the local legislators to decide to do that.

So we follow local laws and we ask our customers to be respectful to the other people they are shopping with. And we really haven't had any issues inside of our stores as a result of that.

I know this is a wasted effort but anyway: Attention SJW's and all who complain about micro-aggressions. Unless you can get a job at a university you are pretty much screwed as employers can do internet searches for all of the social media postings you have made. Few are going to invite the disruption to their organization caused by someone who runs to HR every time the coworker in the next cubicle laughs.

BTW- Thanks for the warnings you have given.

But you can't sell something to someone you can't even get to stop and listen, and "hawt chicks" is a good way to get middle-aged nerd-males to stop. If the woman in question is then also passably conversant in your technology, then you have a good chance of getting the "and listen" too.

Similarly, there's the question of whether suicide-mass-murdering pilot was motivated by depression, a break-up, or some unspecified death cult. Perhaps this fellow hit the trifecta.

Depression turned outward so suicidal tendencies were aggravated into including mass murder by death cult indoctrination, he meant to be shouting alleyhoo akpatui all the way down, but he got despondent thinking about the doctor's note that would end his career, and about his ex-girlfriend. But mostly the girlfriend.

About Begala. Several years ago, Begala was a guest on one of those NPR Saturday morning quiz shows. I think it was "Wait, wait.., Don't Tell Me".

During the chatter portion, one of the moderators said something that prompted Begala to say "I hate my political enemies". The moderator sort of uncomfortably giggled and then said, "Oh, you don't mean that you really hate them do you?", offering Begala a chance to walk back his comment. But Begala reinforced it with, "No..., I mean I really hate them". The moderator then moved uncomfortably on.

I went to the NPR website later to retrieve the podcast of the show, and guess what?..., Begala's comments had been scrubbed. National Propaganda Radio.
