The agency is spending $15,000 to create a wireless system that will track how much water a hotel guest uses to get them to "modify their behavior."

There was a thing the other day about a $15,000 EPA study to limit pollution from backyard barbecues. (Yeah, really, I was going to link it for the Horde but then I had to work at work).

So I think they're just trolling us. You can't do anything substantial for $15K, just make annoying headlines.

The EPA is in the behavior modification business. Well nothing new in that, I guess.

No I disagree with that to some degree.

Such a scenario is decidedly realistic given that President Obama not
only won all three of those "lean" Democratic states in 2008 and 2012
but that he did so by an average of eight points in Iowa and nine points
in Nevada. And, the last Republican presidential nominee to carry
Pennsylvania was George H.W. Bush, way back in 1988.

Obama won because the Republican fielded shitty candidates and the blacks flooded the polls to vote for him. It all falls on who the RNCe pushes into the WH.

I enjoyed McWhorters article on White Priviledge (as I generally enjoy his articles even if there is some nonsense in them as there was in that one as well), but there was a gaping hole in that none of these 'white priviledge' people talk about class issues. They want to ignore them, but as a consequence, they act like all white people are richer than all black people which is just bonkers. That may have been the case at John's high school, but it wasn't at mine.

And then when you try to bring up the fact that poor whites dont' have a ton of priviledge, they say 'this isn't about money'. But what are they teaching in that white priviledge class? Apparently they are telling white people not to talk about their fancy vacations to black people. So they do think it's about class. Bonkers.

"Ah, that's nothing me lad," replied Sean. "98 years old, over here. Eamon from Kilkenny!"

Hehe, Towhall, no holds bar piece on hillary.

Hillary Will be President Of Nothing

If you haven't read it yet. It's as addictive as potato chips.

http://bit.ly/18wUSvJ

hoo-boy

excerpts

Hillary is a punchline in overly-sensible shoes and a passion-quelling pantsuit.

...We'll be lucky if she doesn't post $25,000 nights in the Lincoln bedroom on Craigslist.

...I'm talking about the obscure internet site's story about a random teenager who's now claiming that Bill's her daddy. See, here's the thing: We don't know if it's true, but we can't be sure it's not.

...It's not that this elderly leech can't control himself - he can't - but that he doesn't want to.

...So with the Democrat brand about as popular as chlamydia, Hillary will come in and finish it off. But as tempting as it is to let that happen, her Machiavellian perfidy may also finish off our Constitution, and her foreign policy incompetence might well finish off Israel.

...She's an unprincipled creep and a crony capitalist concerned about one thing - lining the pockets of her tacky pantsuits.

...Hillary's inexplicably counting on young people who were walking around in Huggies back when she was in the White House to vote for someone on the verge of walking around in Depends in 2016. She's ancient. What young person is going to be excited by her except for the connoisseurs of creepy hot grannies websites - who, come to think of it, will likely be the next sexual minority the Democrats embrace.

Problem with the lo-flo toilets is... in older homes... the sewer pipes
are 6 or 8 inches. With the old toilets, the big plug of water moved the
solids through that pipe easy. The low flo plug of water is so small
with the old sewer pipe that the solids don't move... they deposit and
the little plug of water goes around . There is a good article
somewheres on San Fransisco and their sewer problem because they enduced
all their libtard residents to put in low flo toilets. heh

Funny you should say that...I ran the washing machine this morning, only to find poop in the tub when it was shower time.

Old house, low-flow toilet.
I rent, so just have to have the place cleaned up when the DIY landlord comes, but what a hassle.

Not sure what you mean by metal roof, but metal roofiing is more expensive, typically, because it lasts longer and they are more durable. I think it also reflects the heat, so helps with utility bills.

We have been thinking about re-roofing with the metal roofing, but it's so darn expensive.

Three-pronged answer:
Indoctrination: this is the next crisis, everyone must be consciousness raised, must be part of it, must accept it is real

Empire building: it is a pretext for gathering power and influence among what are really redundant losers who have wrangled and indoors job with a pension and no heavy lifting and meetings with donuts

The true tragedy of rationing: once everyone has equal access and minimum price (that is paid for by everyone who works) there is no reason to conserve or monitor use, so use goes up, waste goes up and this is a pretext to clamp down even harder.....

And this runs us right back to increase the effect of the first two points.

A good study on this is the end of rationing of food in Germany after WWII under Erhard and Adenauer in 1948. But it flows in the opposite direction.

I would like all of the rants read into the record under my name as well.

Now:

1. Dear Starbucks, there is a difference between dark roast and burnt.

B. Venti is a stupid name because it means "20" in a language that doesn't use ounces.

iii. When I was last in a Starbucks (ages ago, so it may have changed) you had to buy ATT wifi to use wifi. Which you don't at, say, Panera. Because Panera understands that wifi is an enticement for your business not another way to fleece you.

d. Even if I liked your burnt coffee I would avoid like a bucket of spiders being harangued by some gauge-eared bint of a grievance studies major on any subject other than "would you like cream in that".

278 Metal roof seems hot, right? But that's good. Sunlight drops most of its radiation right at the top level, and if properly vented, the roof keeps the heat away from your living area. An asphalt-coated roof absorbs heat, and becomes more heat-conductive as it heats up, and the heat shock inundates the insulation under it, until literally "at the end of the day" you have a big sump of superheated air above your ceiling. Takes a while to dissipate through all that cotton-wool, and meanwhile the A/C is laboring to cool off the ceiling.

Also, tar runs right off a roof in Texas. Shingles melt. Thatch combusts spontaneously. And those Spanish tiles? Bam! Bam! Bam! from the heat.
Omigod it's awful. If it ever rained there, it'd be real dangerous. In Texas.

Only downside to metal roofs, if they can't rust, is that in a tornado the clips hold real well and they can come off about a half-acre at a time, and sail quite-a-ways. For real comedy gold, you have to see one of those one-piece rubber sheets fly past.

They called it the Civil War 'cause, like, Martin Luther King was a man of peace so he simply asked President Abe Lincoln to free the slaves.

Rapper Azealia Banks says she hates "fat white Americans"
http://t.co/1wkyCr7TqA

“I hate everything about this country. Like, I hate fat white Americans,” she said. “All the people who are crunched into the middle of America, the real fat and meat of America, are these racist conservative white people who live on their farms.”

Banks, who was raised in New York City, continued, “Those little teenage girls who work at Kmart and have a racist grandma — that’s really America.”

...

Back in November, Banks made it clear that she was anything but happy over the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson, the police officer who fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown.

She tweeted at the time that she hates “when these police violence things happen,” saying in a subsequent message that, though it’s “so f***ed up,” it makes her feel “such a general hatred for all straight white men.”

Makes you wonder what other vulnerabilities they know about because Hillary found the use of a secure network "inconvenient."
