I believe the phrase has been conflated to include simple prostitution. I'm sure most people, outside of Bill Clinton's social circle that is, are against the forced taking of young girls and women for the purpose of either selling them off, or turning them into prostitutes, but the average streetwalker? The college girl paying her bills? The pros working in Nevada?

Every case Holder has wasted your tax dollars on that has gone to the Supreme Court involving the phony disparate impact has been shot down. The courts do not recognize disparate impact as a cause of action unless proof can be shown there was a deliberate act to discriminate. And there we have the Best Case outcome of the TFG middle east policy.

Its unbelievable this doesn't get more publicity, even with a strictly propaganda press. Bret Baier did a remarkable interview with General al-Sisi the other day, but Fox is the only network discussing the obvious disasters Obama is creating in the region.

105 In an unsurprising move, Kos Kiddies take up the defense of Mr. Dindu Nuffin what shot the two police officers in Fergadishu.

"Not a protestor. Well, okay he had been at several of the protests but he wasn't a regular protestor."

"He wasn't targeting the police officers. He just fired randomly and happened, by pure happenstance, to hit two cops from 125 yards away."

"The police beat the confession out of him so it is null and void."

There was also a lively discussion on the ballistic properties of a .40 cal handgun round and whether Mr. Nuffin could have been firing upwards into the air and the two officers were struck on the bullet's downward trajectory.

Facinating.

110 There are non-Lefty feminists, but they've been excluded from the public discourse on feminism.

Left-feminists are all about "empowering" women, but not to the point of allowing them to arm themselves against sexual assault.

Left-feminists are all about women "controlling their bodies" unless a woman chooses to engage in prostitution. Then she's a victim of rape culture.

The Left's positions on feminism are just as vapid and mind-numbingly stupid as their positions on everything else.

111 Morning, Glories!

My nic links to a page where I keep a kind of blog of some links. It's not as pithy as Vic's commentary; not as extensive as Political Hat's news of the week; just whatever random links I want to keep track of. No videos embedded, no big graphics. Just quotes and links. And the occasional comment I'll no doubt regret later. Some icons, just small ones.

Used to do this years ago before technical and other difficulties made it too hard for me to keep up with. Been back at it for about a month now. Wanted to make sure I was really at it again before mentioning it. However, no surer way to tempt Murphy's Law to mess me around again, make me have to quit again, than to make an announcement about it. So, here 'tis.

IN OTHER NEWS, looks like the sun is going to rise here in the middle of America. Any... minute... now...

Well, the literal translation of that is merely the color black, but it obviously is a pejorative to varying degrees depending upon context. The other word is an expression denoting a neighborhood that is or had become black, whether as a lament, a warning or to indicate disgust, again depending on context and the attitude of the speaker.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE UPDATE: "Every nuclear power is spending lavishly to upgrade its atomic arsenal. Russia's defence budget has grown by over 50% since 2007, and fully a third of it is devoted to nuclear weapons: twice the share of, say, France. China, long a nuclear minnow, is adding to its stocks and investing heavily in submarines and mobile missile batteries. Pakistan is amassing dozens of battlefield nukes to make up for its inferiority to India in conventional forces. North Korea is thought to be capable of adding a warhead a year to its stock of around ten, and is working on missiles that can strike the west coast of the United States. Even the Nobel peace laureate in the White House has asked Congress for almost $350 billion to undertake a decade-long programme of modernisation of America's arsenal."

Good thing we got rid of that warmongering cowboy Bush, whose saber-rattling led otherwise peaceful countries to militarize.

149 So, today begins Match Week, where graduating med students are assigned residencies that will compete their education over the next 4 to 7 years. When you enter the match, you rank the 20 programs you most prefer, and sign a binding commitment to complete whichever program makes an offer. You don't know if you'll be the #1 pick for your most preferred slot, or the #60 pick for your last choice. You strategize, present your ranked list and jump into the volcano. A few days ago, an unsentimental computer churned through 34,000 applicants' lists and hospitals' rankings of applicants representing 30,000 slots. The underlying game-theory algorithm won a Nobel Prize. In economics. (The same Nobel Prize that Paul Krugman won.)

Today at noon ET, students find out IF (not WHERE) they made a match. I haven't slept in three days, re-re-re-re-thinking my strategy and cursing treacherous interviewers who get paid to seduce naive virgins.

At this point, it's only spoken day to day by Hassidic Jews. My mother's side of the family never heard or used it in Hungary, except for her father who did business with the Hassidim. And in the camps, if you didn't understand German or Yiddish, it could be life or death.

My dad's folks were Ukrainian and Lithuanian, so those two languages and Yiddish were always in the mix, though more of the latter. In fact, after my dad's first day of kindergarten, Ma asked him in Yiddish, "so, what did you learn at school?" to which he replied excitedly, "Ma, I learned a foreign language - English!"

thoughts your way

one of my nephews is in the same situation

fingers crossed - it really is a mess, and you're lucky if you've got someone on the inside - who you know seems to trump almost everything in life

Wait, what? This guy hit two police officers from 140 yards away with a handgun? Not a long gun?

Once? Helluva shot. Twice?

Something doesn't compute.

166 Think about that in it's simplicity, and clarity for a moment.

Chicago has well established that black lives only matter when it's politically convenient or when a shakedown is possible.

168 "He was aiming at the donut truck, got lucky."

In all honesty, he has admitted to shooting at another person he was having issues with, almost certainly black, missed, and hit the two cops by accident.

Hence, the rather pithy comment that black lives don't matter too much to Mr I. Dindu Nuffen, Illegal owner of firearm, parol violator, piss poor shot and all around nice guy.

173 Not inconceivable , IMO, to hit two officers at 140 yrds, (though that distance is surely subject to change). The officers were all in a line, maybe even bunched up where he shot.. but obviously aimed. Hopefully the FPD taped EVERYTHING in the station to refute the easily anticipated police brutality claims to come.

174 In all honesty, he has admitted to shooting at another person he was having issues with, almost certainly black, missed, and hit the two cops by accident.

That I can kinda sorta believe. It's like on a football field firing from the very end of one end zone and hitting someone at the very end of the other end zone.

Doesn't/won't matter much. He's going to PMITA prison a long time.

Posted by: SE Pa Moron at March 16, 2015 08:44 AM (xQX/f)

175 Yes, a handgun. According to the reality-based community commentors, no one can hit jack shit with a handgun at distances greater than 25 yards. The police officer in San Antonio? who dropped the running spree shooter from 100+ yards with his handgun while holding two horses notwithstanding. Unpossible!

Not impossible, but the pics of the guy don't scream 'dedicated handgunner who practices super elevating his sight picture to hit steel plates at 150yd'. Put a beard on him, a LaRue ballcap, and wipe about 10 years of weed use out of his eyes -- and maybe. I think he was capping at the crowd, and the police ranks ensured that one of them was going to catch something.

179 "That I can kinda sorta believe. It's like on a football field firing from the very end of one end zone and hitting someone at the very end of the other end zone. "

Pick from the following options

1. Shooting at black guy, missed, and hit two cops.

2. Shot at a group of cops from a fair distance, and hit two of them.

3. Shot at large group of cops from a fair distance, missed, and hit a small child, severely injury the child.

4. Shot at a black guy in broad daylight after a fifteen minute long loud verbal argument,, drawing many people from inside their homes out to the street to see what the disturbance was about , missed, striking and killing a small black child 300 foot away, playing on their porch. No-one in the community saw anything.

Unfortunately, in Baltimore it is usually option #4.
Sometimes option #3.
Statistically, the greatest danger to an african American child in Baltimore seems to be an African American male, between the ages of 14-28.

If the idiot shooter at Ferguson had been holding his gun sideways (highly likely, cause y'know it looks cool) he is "lucky" he hit the cops, rather that blowing some child's head off while they slept in their room.

181 LMS, if life sucks today, you can always walk on at Brooks. DoD trumps those commitment letters and has a better residency program then most. I think Doctor basic is down to three weeks, you might have to sweat on 3 days and they let you touch a weapon. If you ask real nice, you get to shoot it.

Then in a few years you get to enjoy the god-like power of being a flight surgeon who can ground pilots at a whim.

Until a Comm-Electronics Maintainence Superintendent in the back of the aircraft pulls the right CB and takes the radio off-line. "Oops, radio broke. Let me fix that," and assigns his most ham-handed A1C to the task.

This story may be a plant. If this vermin was gunning for cops, that inconveniences the dear leader and his band of racists. They're far happier ignoring kids that look like JEF's imaginary son killing other imaginary sons.
If anyone other than a cop spoke to this guy, he may have been given "legal advice". Actually, the locals would probably be happier treating it that way as well.
