Scary answer? Not much.

For as much as Obama deserves the condemnation he's receiving for not doing much about ISIS, the American people simply don't have the stomach for the kind of war necessary to break Islam as a militant force.

If that's true (and it certainly is) than we shouldn't go. There is no splitting the baby with war.

Either send us back, without the asinine ROE that have gotten our people killed for years and allow us to identify, locate, close with and destroy the enemy or don't send us at all.

If you won't let us fight, don't send us to die.

OK, this is something good at least:

Posters and signs appeared early Wednesday morning around the nation's
capital and the upscale Georgetown neighborhood where embattled Federal
Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler lives. The posters read "Boot Licker" with Wheeler's face printed over a repeating series of "Obama's Bitch" in the background in an apparent indication that the
commissioner is kowtowing to President Obama.

I recall Nancy Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra, did an HBO documentary on Christians - icky Evangelicals (because she's a progressive Catholic). Saw an interview with her discussing what she learned. She noted how interesting it was that *everyone* she interviewed most wanted to share their conversion story with her. But the MSM has such infrequent contact with real, live practicing Christians they wouldn't know this, it would never occur to them to ask about a candidate's conversion or baptism.

I bring all this up because a group of women in my office are snickering over how ""Republicans" think a woman's vagina is attached to her stomach!!!!!1!eleventy!!!"

So, this whole smearing of an entire party over a dumb comment? It works with the LIVs. That's why the presstitutes do it.

119 If Obama is a Christian, he must be the kind that tunes into the Sunday TV church shows because he never seems to go to church. It's hard to argue his "my muslim faith..." wasn't some kind of Freudian slip.
________________________

He's also the kind of Christian who orders his flunkies to cover up the cross behind him when he's standing in a Catholic university and about to give a speech on camera.

As for not being baptised, didn't Rev. Wright say once that he had never baptised Obama? And Obama himself dates his becoming a Christian to his Chicago years -- so if Wright, the only pastor Obama had in Chicago, didn't baptise Obama, then who did? The answer is pretty clear: nobody baptised Obama, because Obama is not really a Christian. Even Wright himself admitted that once, when he said something like "Obama considers himself to be a Christian, but he may not define the term Christian the way you or I would define it."

So.....is there anything that explains in laymans terms what the FCC
regulation of the internet would do (other than be awful, naturally)?
Or is it another "we have to pass it to find out what's in it," thing?

Posted by: Mainah at February 26, 2015 09:09 AM (659DL)

It will payoff leftest Internet giants like google and netflix by letting them have cheaper rates at the expense of the customers. Back when they were trying to ram it through congress it was estimated that the average Internet bill would go up by $10/month.

It is probably more now. We are dependent on another deep pocket outfit suing to get it struck down a second time.

There is just no limit to how far left these assholes are willing to go when pandering. Essentially promising to take money from the wealthy and do what? Give it to people who have less? Idiots actually believe that will happen?

It's like the left has taken the seven deadly sins and turned it into a book of promises, promises that they will bestow on those who kiss their ring.

252 Wisconsin Senate Passes Right-To-Work bill, and it now goes to the Assembly, which is more Republican than the Senate.

And Facebook comments under the news stories are amazing!

Once upon a time, I would engage with these types, but experience hath shown the futility of that.
How can a person say with a straight face that a majority at the national level means it's time to enact everything they always wanted, and screw the other side, because WE WON, but don't see that at the state level, those majorities were likewise won. District by district.

I'll cut it short, but suffice it to say that Facebook commenters on the left live in an echo chamber with very little dissent, due to the savage wolfpack mentality shown to those that disagree.

They think Scott Walker and the Kochs are "doing this to Wisconsin". Sad, yet funny.

Of course, I love all that equivocation "for me... just for me!" and that "God is in the mix" rather than, "Marriage is a sacred union before God that is between one man and one woman."

But, of course, he couldn't have said that, because then his support among the gay lobby would have tanked. So he had to go all mealy mouthed.

269 They think Scott Walker and the Kochs are "doing this to Wisconsin". Sad, yet funny.

"Doing this" as in getting the state budge under control and making the State more employer friendly?

If I were Walker, I'd be saving all of those "accusations," and when the unemployment starts going down again, and State revenues start going up (all without tax increases), I would post them all somewhere and say "Guilty as charged."

275 What you might not know is that the moon is not the Earth's only natural satellite. As recently as 1997, we discovered that another body, 3753 Cruithne, is what's called a quasi-orbital satellite of Earth. This simply means that Cruithne doesn't loop around the Earth in a nice ellipse in the same way as the moon, or indeed the artificial satellites we loft into orbit. Instead, Cruithne scuttles around the inner solar system in what's called a "horseshoe" orbit.

Having seen it, if I were a Superhero, I'd have a cape with a simple magnetic clasp, both for safety's sake, and to confuse any villain that tried to grab me by the cape. Pop, off it goes, and they're holding a cape and looking stupid while you're either running away or about to shoot eye lasers at them.

Granted, cape replacement costs would get annoying, but if you gotta have the style, that's how ya do it.

For...what? 40 years? There was practically no innovation or advancement in consumer phone technology. Even once Ma Bell was broken up into AT&T and the Baby Bells - because each one was regional for local service - there wasn't a whole lot of innovation.

Then some competition came in. First in long-distance calling, then cell phones hit (I bought my first cell phone in 1999). Phones -including home phone service- have come so far so fast it's ridiculous. VoiceMail anywhere. Caller ID standard. Free long-distance. And so on. That's before we look at smart phones.

And there are people who seriously think Government regulation of the internet is a good thing.

290 The GOP in Wisconsin was much more interested in passing this bill than Walker. When questioned about it in 2012, Walker said he had no interest in a right to work law in Wi. He said last fall he had no interest in it, but that if it showed up on his desk, he'd sign it.

It's about to show up. I don't know that there will be any short, medium or long range benefits that will ever accrue directly to this bill. Other than folks actually having the constitutional right to freedom of association.

We in the coal-fed Midwest have bigger problems attracting businesses than just labor. These EPA regs could potentially be devastating, and no right to work law would overcome that.

293 how many conservative sites will remain up after FCC controls all bandwidth

--------------

It will mean blogs will have to pay for their bandwidth, which will mean more advertising to generate more revenue for the blog while increasing the megabits that will have to pushed out over the internet which will mean more bandwidth used which will mean higher costs which will require more advertising which will mean ...

we're going to need more negotiators who can negotiate with the hostage takers.

The blogs who chose to release their content only to subscribers will discover their subscribers, few in number, will abandoned them to more popular blogs with a large number of subscribers who can offer lower subscription fees spread over a large number which will concentrate the internet population around a few, select, easily controlled, government approved, licensed, content providers who can meet government standards for quality, accuracy, and fairness, while educating their user groups.

It's a win for all sides. Everybody wins.

294 I am not actually France. Bye sock.

You have to go to the Blaze (not Fox) to get Walker's whole response on the is Obama a Christian thing:

"To me, this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and, increasingly, they dislike the press," Walker said, the Post reported. "The things they care about don't even remotely come close to what you're asking about."

So, yeah, he pointed out people don't like the press. That is why their panties are in a wad.

297 "WTF does that even mean? A hell of a theologian that Barky is."

Sort of like back when he described sin as being in alignment with his values.

I guess, one could build an argument that sin is when you are not in alignment with God's values.

But to assume the authority of determining your own set of values, outside the guidance of God, and defining sin as not following your own values is pretty high up there on the list of shit that narcissists believe.

A fellow receives the world's first testicle replacement. During the surgery, a student in the theater above accidentally drops a pearl onion into the tray containing the donor testicle, which goes unnoticed.

The head surgeon declares the surgery a success and sees the recipient some weeks later. "So, how do you feel? You know you've made history with this surgery."

Recipient, " I feel fine except for three things, Doc. Every time I urinate, my eyes water. And for some reason, when I pass a hot dog stand, I become greatly aroused."

Doc, "What's the third thing?"

Recipient, "Every time I make love to my wife, she gets indigestion."
