Here in AZ, which is also a RTW state, an employer cannot fire an at-will employee for reasons which violate public policy. (And if the employer does so, he/she will be liable in civil damages for wrongful termination). So, for example, an employer can't lawfully fire an at-will employee for being a whistleblower, or for being black (homosexual, Jewish, whatever). I don't know GA law, but depending on how the case law has developed there, the fire chief may indeed have a valid claim, despite it being a RTW jurisdiction. Depends on State law. In most RTW States employers can hire and fire at will as long as they violate no federal or State discrimination laws. Most large companies however have things in place to try to avoid lawsuits. Posted by: Vic at February 19, 2015 07:14 AM (wlDny) 112
Jenner's a disturbed man (person?), but accidents happen. He was sober, not on his phone, and screwed up. Civil liability, absolutely. Obama is trying to compare the fight over a parking space the same as
terrorist bombings and killings. He really needs to get some better advisers and speech writers. He is a better speechwriter than his speechwriters, isn't he? _____________________________ Iowahawk had a funny tweet yesterday. He said something like: Barack Obama, JD Harvard: ISIS is not "real" Islam Caliph al-Baghdadi, Ph.D. Islamic Theology, U. of Iraq: Yes, it is. So who are you going to believe? A Muslim with a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology, or some asshole Harvard lawyer who attended a madrassa in Indonesia when he was in kindergarten? Not only is Obama a better speechwriter than his speechwriters, but he is more knowledgeable about Islamic theology than Muslim scholars who've spent decades studying it. Is there any topic on which anyone, anywhere, knows less than Obama? Posted by: TrivialPursuer at February 19, 2015 07:24 AM (Fnyc2) 128
Back in 2008 I knew Obama did not love America but I
truly did not believe that he would actively try to destroy it and both Parties would let him get away with it. Posted by: Vic at February 19, 2015 07:03 AM I felt the same way, Vic. But I felt confident that Congress -- even a few Democrats -- would take their oaths of office seriously and put him on a short leash as soon as he started putting any of his treasonous ideas into practice. Boyoboy, was I wrong. This is why I am so disgusted by such "conservatives" as Poppin' Fresh and the preppies at NRO. They have consistently yammered about "optics" and the need to Preserve the Republican Brand by not opposing Choom Boy, who is, after all, the first President of Color. I am shocked that among the geniuses among the commenters (many of which strong supporters of big anus) nobody is able to mention that some medicines can invalidate your right to drive. Not only as an indication on the box, but you are liable if you are driving under the influence of some. Now hormones are among those medicines (although not technically a 'medicine' per se). If you ask any doctor, a judge can invalidate a contract if it comes out that a woman signed it while having an hormone imbalance (example hyper thyroidism/ Graves disease). Which idiot decided that ingesting massive doses of oestrogens for a man does not constitute enough hormone imbalance to at least suspend his driving license? NOOOO, that would be homophobic! Morning Glories!
I seem to recall reading recently that Tom Edison thought the phonograph was a novelty that would blow over. Why would anyone want to listen to recorded music? Maybe that was someone else, 'cause ol' supersalesman Tom was disinclined to do anything but talk up his products. My older brother used to collect wax cylinder records, and had the Victrola to play them on. Wonder if he still has that stuff, and if it's in any condition to be played anymore. (Been estranged from brother for a number of years - always welcome prayers for reconciliation, with his nonagenarian mother, at least). It is instructive to remember that Obamas response to Sep. 11, 2001 was to cast the attacks as a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others, an absence that grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair. Not a mass murder motivated by a specific religious ideology. Not an act of war requiring more than dismantling the groups who did it.
Obama is governing the country from within a Sep. 10 mindset one that sees terror as a matter of law enforcement, rather than war. The fact that mistakes have been made in the conduct of that war does not change the fact that it is a war. Obama s refusal to acknowledge that reality has led to retreat after retreat. Today, the U.S. is arguably in a weaker position than on Sep. 10, 2001 and Obamas repeated obfuscations are making America weaker still. No. Posted by: Cloyd Freud, Unemployed at February 19, 2015 08:05 AM (lG2E3) It's all lies. The only thing they represent anymore is their own career interests, which is to get big and fat off the taxpayer's backs. This has happened before. It happened to a party called the Whigs. Their leadership became useless and ignored the base, and didn't stand for anything anymore, so a bunch of young radicals like Abraham Lincoln split and created a new party - the Republicans - which ended up taking over their share of the vote so quickly that they faded from history. In today's world, no event is "private". Guiliani's truth about Hussein Obama, makes one hell of a campaign slogan to which one can miles and miles of data. When one adds truth after truth to it, the opposition candidate can woo the vast majority of the country. Forget that 47%. There isn't any such thing. It is about emotional communication (best with truths) and until now the social- justice fascist-marxists masquerading as Democrats have stolen the show with lies. Time to stop doing Romney's and go get 'em. (By the way, is it possible for an "opposition candidate" to be a Republican?)

Says Walker when slimed by the Marxist-fascist owned press, "Do you really think Obama loves America when he .....?" Morons can fill in in a most imaginative way. My lame, but true, examples include: ...only golfs, campaigns and speechifies instead of governing?...when he puts our soldiers and our allies in harms' way?...when he lies about the cooling climate and shovels government money to fellow liars?...when he destroys this country's victory in Iraq and leaves Iraqies (sp) helpless by stupidly pulling out?...when he has funneled Americans arms to IS in so many ways? Etc., etc., etc., etc.
I think "doing Romney's" is about loving the truly dangerous opposition and hating one's allies. It's also about ignoring the massive voter fraud that got Obama elected rather than exposing it and fighting it tooth and claw. Take note of all those close elections and see how Obama came out a tiny bit ahead in every one. Much like how in every temperature adjustment, the temperatures come out always warmer, always warmer. Fraud, fraud, fraud. Posted by: pyromancer76 at February 19, 2015 09:10 AM (zvcr8) Posted by: Front For the Liberation of Umlauts at February 19, 2015 09:11 AM (MMC8r) 332

We met for dinner a couple of months ago and my wife and I Googled her that evening for grins. I was pretty shocked. Even though the very popular show she was a star in ended many years ago, I was horrified to see recent paparazzi pictures of her and her daughters. She is famous enough that the press still follows her. I confess that the pictures made me angry. I'm no fan of Bruce Jenner but am mortified at the lengths that paparazzi go to for pictures and dirt. OT sort of, but guns and liberty relate to pretty much anything on this site.
Check out NRO and the story about a Mr. Van Gilder being prosecuted for transporting an unlicensed "firearm" in NJ (18th century single shot flintlock). There's a link to his legal defense fund.
