Mike Rowe on the flap over Scott Walker's college degree.

Here’s what I didn’t understand 25 years ago. QVC had a serious recruiting problem. Qualified candidates were applying in droves, but failing miserably on the air. Polished salespeople with proven track records were awkward on TV. Professional actors with extensive credits couldn’t be themselves on camera. And seasoned hosts who understood live television had no experience hawking products. So eventually, QVC hit the reset button. They stopped looking for “qualified” people, and started looking for anyone who could talk about a pencil for eight minutes.
QVC had confused qualifications with competency.
Perhaps America has done something similar?

The Farmer's Almanac predicted coldness in the Eastern 2/3 and lack of cold in the Western 1/3.

I've been throwing my windows open for weeks now. Love the fresh air. Trying to enjoy it before it gets too warm.

The temp right now ( at 4 A. M. in the morning) is about 50 degrees. Hight predicted in the high 70's to low 80's... all with a low humidity level.

We shall see. But I've been reliably told by one poster on this blog for the past 6 years that amnesty driven by Republicans was a done deal and yet it still hasn't happened. In fact, contrary to what I've been told, the Republicans are pretty united in fighting it.

Of course Obama continues to be Obama but he is also galvanizing the country against liberalism. As I've been saying for years, once the public gets a real look at liberalism which they only see when a liberal stops lying about his position and actually tries to implement it the public goes against him.

Here's a breakdown of the Gallup poll you referenced. Sure, Dems and liberals march in lockstep with a Dem president as always (only Republicans turn on their own) but he has lost everyone else to become the most polarizing president in polling history. No small feat, that.

Our local fire department (volunteer) has been fielding a lot of calls from residents whose CO detectors are going off, which means they're spending time shoveling snow away from vents.

Sure they have. I'm one of those morons (small m morons) that actually watches CSPAN and they have tried numerous times on numerous issues.

For example, the decision on Obama's illegal NLRB packing was the result of a challenge by McConnell and it was successful. They have been fighting a stonewalling administration on numerous issues, from F&F to Benghazi to the IRS. Right now the Republicans are fighting to defund DHS and while the msm and the left are squealing like stuck pigs about the only commentary on the right is to pick the day when the Republicans will fold.

We are much better at circular firing squads than we are at bolstering our team to actually win. The actions by the Texas judge was a huge step in stopping Obama's illegal actions, just the kind of thing you are advocating for, and they deserve serious support from our side. That's how you win these things, with public support. The Dems didn't lose a second declaring they will fight to overturn this decision Where is all the support from our side to make sure it doesn't happen?

YHM makes good gear, generally. I assume this is their fluted heavy profile with a non-chromed bore.

Heavy barrel is good for accuracy, but the chrome bore is theoretically not. The trade off is toughness and ease of cleaning. Melonite is the new hotness and supposedly bridges the gap.

Twist rate is all about bullet weight. A 7 twist will excel with heavier 77 grainers whereas the 9 twist not as much. 9 is a good compromise if you'll be running a number of different weights, though. That all said, my 7 twist, 16" chromed Spike's barrel does great with cheap 55 grainers. Go figure.

A 7 twist will excel with heavier 77 grainers whereas the 9 twist not as much. 9 is a good compromise if you'll be running a number of different weights, though. That all said, my 7 twist, 16" chromed Spike's barrel does great with cheap 55 grainers. Go figure.

They went up gradually ever since I retired but after Obamacare they doubled and then tripled.
