That's it for today folks.

And I went shopping this morning like I wanted to do yesterday. I went at 4 am. The bread shelves were stripped but I was lucky. The bread man was there to restock. He said he had restocked twice yesterday. And got a few odds and ends, mostly staples. The only meat I got was 2 lbs of ground beef. What I got barely covered the bottom of the cart. My bill was $102. But there is no inflation.

39 The Coptic Christians murdered by ISIS yesterday were murdered on the shores of Tripoli. el-Sisi bombed them in Derna. Derna is the site of America's first victory on foreign soil. As much as ISIS was sending a message to Egypt, I wonder if they were also sending America one, too. Very significant location.

47 Was watching one of the Meet the Depressed type shows yesterday, where they were talking about comedy, and talk radio.

General consensus is that liberals do satire well, and conservatives do political discussion on radio well.
And the reason that conservatives don't do satire well is that elites are able to grasp the subtleties of satire, whereas knuckle dragging conservatives are just not mentally able to grasp the nuance of good satire.

Stupid fcuks have never come here and read the comments, obviously.
Some of the best cutting satire, and general comedy on the planet.
All while effectively pointing out that most modern day liberals and progressives could not recognize bias, double standard or shoddy logic if they were hit in the face with it.

Temps hovered around 20, but with constant wind & 40 mph gusts down here in Tidewater. Fillmore and Pierce were do-nothing idiots who sat by and watched the nation build up to the Civil War. 85 There not predicting a whole lot of snow here (5-8 inches) but this is DC. Stupid doesn't quite cover what happens here when it snows. I grew up near Pittsburgh, 5-8 inches isn't shit. I'll probably drive into work tonight because they will shut down the subway if the snow get higher than 6 inches (the third rail would go boom). With WMATA's track record, well who knows what would happen. Could be nothing or the Space/Time Continuum would rupture. So tonight, I drive in.

87 82 - Yep and full o gas. 3 years ago we bought this place with a 400 ft tree lined driveway. Looked nice at the time - until it was covered in 15-20 inches or more of snow every year since we moved in. Then it kinda sucked.

88 There is a layer of white stuff over everything outside. Barely, but there it is. And it's 19° feels like 10, says here. So, when we get up to freezing later today, it'll seem balmy.

Not good.

Not trying to preach to the Choir, but has everyone put gas stabilizer in their snowblower fuel yet?

Last year, our neighbor was loaning me their blower, and it would not start.

Dropped the carb bowl, and pure crud glopped out.
The repairman said that they don't even overhaul the new carbs anymore. Pot metal junk that they just swap out completely.
And he blamed it squarely on the new fuel mix attracting moisture, and breaking down.
We run the same stuff in Mrs VIA's little Vespa two stroke scooter.
Stabilize the fuel as soon as you buy it..

I haven't heard of that issue before.
Premium still typically has ethanol as well.
And the ethanol is what causes the issues. ethanol loves water, in any form. Will draw it out of the humidity in the air itself if you let it.

Smarter Morons then I can get into all the sciencey stuff behind it.

Is there a chance that where you buy your gas, ethanol is not part of the fuel mix?
I know there is a station up in York PA, that specifically carries non-ethanol gas in all grades.

171 28 Vic, how sad is it that hamburger - that stalwart staple of the working class food budget - is so d@mn expensive that we have to think twice about buying it? I went shopping yesterday afternoon (fun fact: if you go grocery shopping when you have a migraine, you will buy absolutely NOTHING on your list), and the ground beef section was lined with spectators, picking up one package, looking at the price on the label, then slowly returning it to the case. If my spousal unit had actually done any deer hunting this year, instead of simply buying stuff to go deer hunting with, I'd be laughing at these people. But...well, it doesn't seem so funny when your on this side of the food chain...

172 Al-Sisi had the Egyptian air force do about 8 bombing runs over ISIS training camps near the site of where the Copts were murdered, within hours of the murders. Saw a photo of an Egyptian F-16. They say they killed about 53 jihadis, including one of the leaders, and they're now talking about sending in some Egyptian special forces as ground troups.

So MSM isn't reporting on this huh? Gee, wonder why/s

176 I don't know if any of you 'rons or 'ettes are in the Point Pleasant, WV area or have friends or family members in that area, but I wanted to share this, and hopefully you could pass it on.

This family is having a pretty rough go of it. Their baby came early over the Christmas holiday, while they were visiting family (in Michigan from Florida). Their baby didn't make it, and passed on on February 12th, less than a week ago. On the long car trip home, they were in an accident, near Point Pleasant, WV. Their dog became spooked and ran away from the accident scene. They spent the last couple of days searching, but had to return to Florida to get medical attention from the accident.

So, yeah....rough doesn't even begin to cover it.

If you can share if you know anyone in the area and spare some prayers. I know a lot of people say, "it's just a dog," but for this family, to lose a human child and then lose one of your pieces of normalcy and comfort too....man, it stinks.

183 I am thinking of a recent comment by someone here who doesn't like modern Christian music. I must say that I am not a fan of modern praise choruses because they are redundant and lacking in strong theology of the older hymns. However, there are some lovely exception to the lack in modern Christian music, Twila Paris sings a beautiful song called "Lamb of God" (Maybe it's a older piece?) which is very moving. My favorite line, "I was so lost I should have died, but you have brought me to your side." Here she is singing that song set to clips from "The Passion.":

188 Sun is out somewhere, you say?

Brought to mind an old and familiar crooning, Mason Profitt or early Fleetwood Mac? "Somewhere the sun is shining / down my love /..." (something like that?) Don't have the music library t'hand, so...

So, I searched (what's the term for DuckDuckGo searched? I DuckDuckWent doesn't sound right)

So, I searched on lyrics "somewhere the sun is shining unquote.

Holy moly, there are a lot of songs with the line "somewhere the sun is shining"!

It's still overcast here; I can understand why it's a recurring theme.

Where do you live (generally)?

We've dodged some bullets this year, which was warmer and wetter than last year.

205 Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
