My latest foray into the cooking arts.

Take a pound of bacon and separate the slices onto a cookie pan then bake in the oven at 325-350 for about 30-45 min.

And voila' bacon with grease splatters and served up en masse.

Mmmmmmm Bacon.

They always adjust temperatures UP. Never down. If they were doing it to normalize the readings, they'd have SOME lower readings. But NOOOOOOO.

I go 385 for store bought and 405 for farm bacon.

99 Well, any country, next to Russia, that formulated defense policy on the mutterings of Presidents need to have the object lesson for doing that brought home to them.

Sure it was a nice gesture but they had other reasons for doing that. The main one being that Russia would not have let them go if they still had the nukes (they were Russian Nukes) and the nukes themselves were out of date and growing dangerous and they didn't have the expertise to disassemble them themselves. Or the money.

Still I understand what you mean. I don't wish to defend the Muslim in Chief as he hasn't said much of anything yet that hasn't had a sell by date attached. And he sure isn't going to stand by some other President's word unless forced to.

If the Ukrainians couldn't see that train a comin' then this wake up call has served a purpose. But they've been eaten by the BEAR before.

FWIW, used to adore the Hormel brand cooked bacon packs from Costco - nothing like a ziplock bag full of meaty goodness, ready to go at a moment's notice, but about a year or so ago they cut the total weight of the package (that way there's no inflation, according to the Mandarins on the Potowmack) by cutting the slices so thin that they're nearly translucent.

It's sacrilege, I tell ya.

Bush administration nor the Clinton administration was prepared to give a military commitment to Ukraine, nor did they believe the U.S. Senate would ratify an international treaty, so the memorandum was agreed as a political agreement

Ukraine is the first time I can recall in our recent history that we openly supported by our non action the over throw of a democratically elected government . An election that was certified by international election monitors.

I have no doubt that the government was corrupt but there was an opportunity to hold another early election which the coup rejected and decided to take power by force. This gave Russia all the excuse they needed to start this mess. We should have used our influence behind closed doors to force the coup leaders to accept the offer of an early election where they could have seated a legitimate government. But no we had to use strategic patience which has blown up in our face.

My wife bought two ceramic platters with ridges specifically designed for doing bacon in a microwave. They work good but you do have to wrap it in paper towels to keep the splatter down.
