Granted, I'm not literally selling my soul for a shot at gaining the everlasting adoration of a compliant America. I'd settle for anchoring the NBC nightly news. I believe I have the qualifications down: I can read. I've stayed in a ritzy hotel in the French Quarter. And I've never had an RPG fired at me in anger.Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1
Good Morning Morons. Today is Sunday, February 08, 2015. On this day in 1993 General Motors sued NBC after Dateline NBC rigged two crashes intended to demonstrate that some GM pickups can easily catch fire if hit in certain places. NBC settled the lawsuit the next day. So this series of lies by NBC reporter/talking head Brian Williams is nothing new for them. I suspect that all of them are guilty of the same kind of shit.

And speaking of lying Williams, NBC says it has no intention of investigating him (or doing anything).

One thing the Founders never foresaw.
They foresaw a President that would try to seize power. They did foresee that the respective Houses could be controlled by feckless ideologues in thrall to moneyed interests. What they didn't foresee was that both would happen at once and that neither would have enough care for the country to stop the other from abusing their position. Perfect storm. Narcissistic Manchurian Candidate and a feckless group of Representatives who's only interest is continuing the gravy train for as long as possible before it all goes to hell. Top that off with a treasonous press and a somnolent and/or slothful electorate and bingo we have the demise of the American Republic. Cartoon by Randy Bish: B Williams haunted by Walter Cronkite - "Ghost of Integrity Past." I might have thought so, too, once, before I knew the real Cronkite. But, no. Pairing Walter with Williams is like his being congratulated on his honesty by Dan Rather. Walt was a more clever liar, though. Ghost of propagandistic manipulation past. Brian Williams is pretty much toast.
Posted by: franksalterego at February 08, 2015 08:10 AM Wrong. Williams will be back after his little "vacation," bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, toiling hard to Earn the Trust of America. Don't confuse him with someone who is actually held accountable for lies less egregious than "terrorists shot my chopper." In a land where Impeachment is Off the Table and terrorists are invited to the White House by a lying, treasonous so-called "President," no one who faithfully spouts the Party Line need fear consequences for "mis-speaking." Gang violence affects all of us, though some of us have been more directly impacted than others (pro tip: stay away from the Quarter in storms). Its for that reason that we would like to advocate the forcible seizure of all weapons from those who in their individual capacity have mistakenly decided they might need a weapon for self-defense. All of the poor, like people who make less than $1 million per year, all minorities (because government will protect them) and all people who disagree with us politically.
