I'm reading about some sort of of confidence vote or "spill". People are saying Abbott is out or as good as out.

So he's Liberal National but would be more what we would call on the right, yes? It looks like all the journos are pilling on so I would assume some leftist party would be at advantage here.

94 Speaking of job creation, did everyone see the follow-up comments from lefty Gallup? Since SCOAMF was elected the country has lost a NET of 10 million jobs (13 million lost set against 3 million created). Furthermore, the organization reasserted the fact that most created jobs are part time and that actual unemployment plus underemployment is 23%, an all-time high water mark. And let's not forget that every single created job has been filled by one of the five million working immigrants that have moved here over the last six years of economic hell.

So if some economic ignoramus tries to buzz in your ear about one month of poor job creation numbers, write him off. He's a fucking nimrod.

It was a low turnout midterm election. The Republicans won because the candidates ran as moderates or libertarians. They ran reflecting the makeup of their electorates.

But since that win, the good economic news has bouyed Obama's ratings. The GOP is back to obsessing about abortion, gays, blacks and immigrants. They are pissing away the hard work done by candidates like Cory Garner.

Come 2016, the GOP will not win the Presidency and probably lose the Senate.

Concern was expressed that the local Two-Year Institution of Higher Learning had its enrollment drop over 50%. B-I-L says he's just back from the coast, and the economy is booming so much, all those students must have gone back to work.

There was a moment of silence, and then the whole table burst out in laughter. Even he got caught up in it, with a sort of sheep-eating "Can't blame a guy for trying" grin. They have no shame. They get credit in heaven or something for getting the party-line bulletpoint on the table, even if it gets laughed off. And, no shame.

But its worse than that. For decades there was no real innovation in phone technology because there was no incentive to innovate. Why spend hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of dollars on costly R&D projects which may not pan out when everyone already has to buy your product?

The same was true of cable TV. Why explore new channels and offerings? They might cost money and not bring in revenue, and everyone has to buy what I provide anyway (if they want cable at all).

And right as we're on the cusp of a true internet breakthroughs (AT&T is testing out service that will deliver full 2 hour movies in seconds- it could be used to deliver 5 GB (about an average size) video games in minutes instead of the current hour+, I'm sure Verizon and the others are performing similar R&D), we're going to quash any incentive to innovate? Because "Fairness?"

F*ck that.

Reality,

In your mind, it all makes so much sense, doesn't it?

Why, you even called yourself "Reality" to show how strongly you believe what your mind tells you, didn't you?

But, this is your illness speaking to you and guiding you.

This is not normal behavior.

You need to get back on your meds or see your doctor if they're not working.

I understand that you have no one to talk to.

But, you do realize, don't you, that this sort of interaction is not the behavior of a normal person.

If you are being paid for this, these people are exploiting your illness . They are making you sicker.

They are making it harder and harder for you to relate to normal people.

Just stop. Get help.

There are no boogiemen "tea partiers" trying to get you, do you understand this?

Sometimes the persistence of the troll impresses me. I'm the kind of not-in-your-face person that might leave a party at the slightest hint that I was unwelcome, so it's hard for me to imagine willingly going "where everybody hates your name." ♫

For a while, the variety of the troll was also something to admire. Putting on a different mask, playing a different angle every day, that takes some thought. Almost entertaining, like our fake trolls, e.g. Cloggenstein. Almost. At first.

But, eventually, they all start sounding the monotonous same, under the surface - or on the surface. Reading along through the comments, having already caught the troll's theme du jour, I can detect a troll comment within half a sentence; my eyes fall to the handle for confirmation, and then I skip it and move on. Mostly, the quantity of disruption quickly outweighs any entertainment value. Even Clog can be irritating on a bad day.

Occasionally, there's even a twinge of pity for the pathetic mentality behind trolling. But then I skip it and move on.

255 The Medieval Christian threat is under control, Mr. President.

See, that's snarky, but it feeds into the SCOAMT's lies.

Because, of course he wasn't saying "Christian violence in the middle ages is totes the same as Mohammedan violence today." Well, okay, maybe he was, but his defenders will say "No, obviously not! That would be crazy!"

So it is necessary to show that the whole comparison is a lie. Not necessarily his lie- he may simply be ignorant of the truth- but a lie nonetheless.

The Crusades were not an act of "Christian violence." The were responses to Mohammedan violence. And they were not particularly brutal for their day. The religious orders which accompanied the crusaders more-or-less kept discipline. The majority of the atrocities were committed by... Mohammedans.

The Inquisition was not some bogeyman who pulled random people out of their homes and burned them at the stake. There was one, relatively brief period, where the Spanish Inquisition got out of control because the anti-Jew hysteria in Spain got so bad that even the King and Queen believed it. After a relatively short time, they came to their senses, appointed a new overseer, and the Spanish Inquisition became known (at the time) as one of the most lenient and merciful courts in Europe. To the point that Spanish prisoners would sometimes blaspheme just so they could be transferred to the Inquisition and out of the King's reach.

285 Just measure the pipe. If you're going to big box or hardware store, take the measurement with you. Likely 1", but who knows? Pipe is sized by it's inside diameter, so the outside diameter will be a little larger than the nominal size.

--

That was my initial thought, Mike, but the Watts site said their sizing has nothing to do with the pipe size.
http://media.wattswater.com/pg-prv.pdf

The pipe leading out is 1/2 inch, when I called the plumbing supply store he said the smallest they stock is 3/4 inch, and apparently the thingie comes with diff cconfigurations of connections.

Back to the link above, page 4, looking at the table, since we have 2 & 1/2 baths, 4 people I'm thinking it should be safe to get a 3/4" or 1" size. (Peak gallon flow probably never more than 30 gpm if that, current water pressure seems to be 110 psi and we want to reduce it to around at least 80 psi)

Not having a lot of Mormons around when I grew up, I was shocked the first time I found that just like every religion, there are Mormons who don't follow 100% of the tenets of the faith all the time. I know at least 2 Muslims who drink. And last weekend I was visiting in a Methodist church where the minister explained "for guests" that communion was grape juice "so that no one feels excluded." That church also had a book group that met at a bar/restaurant "where people could have a beverage of their choosing." Being Lutheran, I wanted to go right out and get some "Lutheran lemonade," IYKWIKAITYD.

299 The Williams thing illustrates perfectly how much trouble this country is in. A huge percentage of our population is no longer interested in objective facts, for them it's all about feelings and framing. The NYT even went so far as to publish an article talking about the "science" of making shit up.

Same thing with the economy and unemployment. It's patently obvious to anyone who just looks at the facts that the economy blows and the percent of American's actually working is at historical lows. Yet we have mouth breathers like Hector who claim things are awesome.

And we have a president who refuses to say the words Islamic terrorism and says we have no right to either because Crusades.

We live in trivial and stupid times. We will be rewarded accordingly.

I think it might be "meines Fapperschen." I'm not judging you, that's just what I'm working on this week.

"meines" would mean 'belonging to my little fapper'.

As written, it's to a single fapper. "Meine" would be plural. Also you add an umlaut when you -chen something.

So, "Guten Morgen, meine Faepperchen" would be correct.

I'll be less of a dick in the next thread.

I admit to some confusion as well.

Allen G, the Lord foreknew us, and has not ever lost one of his own. Circumstances may have been different had human history worked out differently, but you are among the elect; you would still have been Christ's. Not angels, demons, geography, weather, death, not even an altered history could ever have changed that. o.O

Saying that first thing in the morning makes me feel rather humbled, knowing I am also among those foreknown and called. ._. Quite overwhelming, really...

Posted by: Kinley Ardal at February 06, 2015 09:56 AM (9LuAk)

310 votermom - Well, the first thing you need to do is check the water pressure. The cheapie recording meters work fine. For most applications, the 1" will be fine. It may be necessary to use reducer fittings to match the pipe size. The plumbing guys should be able to help when you go to buy it.

I think 80lbs is quite high. I keep ours at 50.

You guys are like Hezbollah in Lebanon, a fanatical sectarian party that wants to control other. The only answer is to arm and train so if god.forbid the few party gets the Presidency ethnic minorities and non sectarian whites will have to resist.

Thankfully the economy is doing good and that will help Hillary win in 2016. After losing 3 straight elections, the GOP will be forced to change and the reactionaries will be forced out. Come 2020 a new and modern GOP that appeals to all Americans will defeat that washed up hag. The GOP needs to lose in 2016 in order to own the future.

314 Obama is lying about the crusades.

What caused the crusades was the Seljuk Turkish conquest of Anatolia after the battle of Manzikert in 1071. The Byzantine Emperor Alexious asked the Pope for help to take back territory. That's what triggered the crusades. It was a reaction to the Jihad.

I like Obamas economic policies, but he's an Islmic ass kisser.
