Obama, The Secret Muslim [OregonMuse]

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

We're all familiar with this Obama quote, right? I see it repeated a lot on conservative blogs, usually offered up as evidence that Obama is either secretly a Muslim, or, at the very least, bowing the knee to Islamic supremacy.

After seeing this a few times, I found the speech where he said it, and read the whole thing. Given the context of the speech, I believe the assertion that the statement in question constitutes some sort of endorsement or acknowledgement of Islamic exceptionalism is incorrect.

I am not by any means defending or endorsing Obama's speech. It is a dumb speech packed full of dumb. But it doesn't say what some think it does.

I never could quite see Obama seeing a secret Muslim. What he is, I believe, is a "transnational progressive" (Steven Den Beste's legendary USS Clueless blog had an excellent essay about what transnational progressivism is and what it aims to achieve).

I believe it is quite out of the question for a thorough-going transnational progressive like Obama to be an adherent of any major religion. TPism only concerns itself with this world, never the next. Therefore, the greatest, most powerful entity known to TPism is the state, and in fact, Mussolini's vision, "all within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state" fits in very nicely with TP goals and aspirations. Which is ironic, given the propensity of TPists to label their critics "fascists" at the drop of a hat.

So this lame speech is one given at the U.N. by Obama in the wake of the Benghazi terrorist attack that claimed the life of the U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. At the time of this speech, the Obama administration was still pushing the lie that the rioting was caused by an inflammatory YouTube video. During the speech, Obama said all sorts of things about who the future does and does not belong to, including:

Today, we must reaffirm that our future will be determined by people like Chris Stevens, and not by his killers.

The future must not belong to those who target Coptic Christians in Egypt

The future must not belong to those who bully women

The future must not belong to those corrupt few who steal a country’s resources

And then, working in the bogus "inflammatory video" angle, Obama said:

The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.

But then he adds:

But to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see in the images of Jesus Christ that are desecrated, or churches that are destroyed, or the Holocaust that is denied.

From this, it should be obvious that he's not holding up Islam as superior, he's saying that all religions should be treated with equal respect, by all. In other words, in the aftermath of murderous violence of obvious Islamoterrorist origin, Obama can do no better than to offer up weak platitudes, essentially a rehash of Rodney King's "can't we all just get along?" speech. In a venue filled with representatives of hostile Islamic countries that regularly harass, oppress and maybe even murder their Christian minorities, Obama is asking them to "condemn hate".

Really.

How dumb is that?

How completely, stupifyingly, mind-bogglingly, jaw-droppingly, gobsmackingly dumb is that?

So the reason Obama says crap like that is not because he's a secret Muslim. No, Obama says these things because he's a dumbass. A world-class dumbass. A transnational dumbass. Compared to him, Jimmy Carter was a freaking genius. Obama is not a secret Muslim because he's not smart enough to be a secret Muslim. If he ever tried to be a Muslim, he'd probably do all sorts of dumb stuff like holding the Quran upside down or praying in the opposite direction so he'd be mooning Mecca.

I admit it'd be pretty funny to watch.

Here is John Bolton's reaction to the speech, and he doesn't say anything about Obama's alleged endorsement of Islamic exceptionalism. And all of us here know that if the 'Stache ever heard anything like that, he'd be the first to call it for what it is. His take on it is pretty much "So Obama comes out in favor of tolerance. This is news?"

So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

A nonbeliever in Jesus who wanted to avoid any controversy, though, would immediately grasp to the "historical!" thought. I might have done the same in his position, at certain points in my life. I'd probably blather a lot more about 1 Peter and "dissimilarity principles" and zzzz, but mainly just because I'd been reading this stuff.

As others have said, the theater was totally quiet throughout the film and during the credits. I was wiping tears, and noticed my husband wiping his eyes.

If Islamic leaders such as the Saud family really believed that Obama was a former Muslim who genuinely had become a Christian, they would pointedly refuse to meet or work with him. It would fatally undermine their claims to legitimacy in the eyes of the faithful of the ummah.

This is the most dishonest president we have ever, ever had, who lies often and about matters both great and small whenever he thinks it is to his advantage. He lies about lying. He even lies about telling the truth. He is utterly shameless and cannot be trusted.

Case in point: he gave that little speech about condemning hatred as his agents were hunting down and imprisoning Hillary's film-maker scapegoat who, as a matter of fact, had fuck-all to do with Benghazi.

The guy worked systematically for four years to advance the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Egypt, advocating for them explicitly and by name every step of the way.

When Obama calls himself a Christian he is following one of the most basic instructions of orthodox Islam: that Muslims living in infidel countries are supposed to pretend that they are infidels, if by doing so they can advance Islamic conquest. Just google "for war is deception" (Tabari 8.23).

As a boy studying the Koran, Obama probably never learned that particular doctrine. It wouldn't have been relevant to children growing up in an Islam-dominated country, but he certainly would have been taught it by Jeremiah Wright, who is himself a Muslim (an "ex" Black Muslim), who supposedly converted to Christianity while studying for his masters degree in Islam. Obvious that he came across Tabari 8.23 and the Islamic jurisprudence that descends from it and realized that, as a recent convert to Islam, he was supposed to pretend that he was an Infidel.

Obama is known to have gone to Wright for advice about how to square his Islamic heritage with his need to work with the mostly church based black-activist movement in Chicago, and it is obvious what Wright told him: "Just lie about being a Christian, the same as I do." Study Wright's church and see what he teaches and you'll see that he actually teaches, not the Christian law of love (to love EVERYONE as yourself) but the Islamic law of hate (to only love members of your own group, and hate everyone else).

He just teaches the Nation of Islam version of the law of hate: to love black people and hate white people. "If God isn't against white people, then we have to kill him." That is what he teaches, the Nation of Islam doctrines that he converted to as a young man. He is still NOI. He just is one of the few NOI who ever actually studied Islam, so he knows that he is supposed to pretend that he is not Muslim. This is Obama's primary adult mentor, a Muslim pretending to be a Christian.

The Open one needs to be open to a little more evidence before saying what he can and can't get his mind around.

Have been in a number of discussions over the past several years re "What is God?" I haven't been able to put the answer in a nutshell, but what I do know is He looks like Charleton Heston and sounds like Rabbi Feuer.

297 Obama is neither Muslim nor Christian. He is a Marxist - a mixture of lazy American upper-class liberal Marxism and "Black Liberation Theology" Marxism. BLT, created in the 1960s, is Marxism tweaked and tuned then coated in a very thin veneer of "Christianity" so as to be more easily spread into traditionally very religious Black-American culture.

Obama's strong affinity for Islam comes from three sources: First, his 20+ years under Rev. Wright's mentorship attending Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ (which is based on BLT) which had a very cozy relationship with Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam (NOI).

Second, Obama was exposed to Islam quite a bit as a youth.

Third - and IMO the most dangerous reason - is the same reason behind the the seemingly unnatural, hypocritical affinity for Islam held by other Western Leftist's.

Leftists don't believe in God by any name. Operationally, the Left views Islam pragmatically, first and foremost as a form of government - not as a religion. Like they do everything else, they judge Islam as to how it can help or hurt the Left's core cause of establishing an authoritarian centralized national government. The left is not really about human rights for women or gays or anyone else - they pretend otherwise as a means to their end.

Islam as a government stripped of religious veneer is much more like a Marxist centralized, authoritarian government where the state is the source of human rights than either America's democratically-elected republic or Europe's parliamentary forms of governments.

The affinity of the Left for Islam is an 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' thing. The enemy of both being individual liberty.

"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam"

is an explicitly religious statement. "Slandering the prophet of Islam" isn't a crime under anything but sharia, and the quasi-sharia European laws about "religious incitement." You might also want to look up the Islamic definition of "slander;" Muslims define it as saying something about someone that that person would not wish known, regardless of whether it's the truth.

All the other "must not belongs" concern actual crimes against people or property, except for Holocaust denial, though that's at least related to mass murder. "Slandering the prophet of Islam" doesn't lead to murder except when it's Muslims doing the murdering.

As the Sesame Street song goes, "One of these things is not like the other."
