On this day in 2009 Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich was removed from office following his conviction on several corruption charges, including the alleged solicitation of personal benefit in exchange for an appointment to the United States Senate as a replacement for then U.S. president-elect Barack Obama. He was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison and is still there.

When I first entered school in the early 50s before you could walk in the door and register you had to have a certificate from the county health department or a doctor saying you had been immunized for a host of diseases. We have actually gone backwards in our community health now.

What has changed since the 50s and now? Probably some phony call that this was discrimination and we have a massive influx of legal and illegal migrants from 3rd world shitholes that we no longer process through a facility like Ellis Island.
