Billy Crystal Apologizes for Saying That As a Straight Guy, He Kinda Doesn't Want to See a Bunch of Graphic Gay Sex on Network TV
So Billy Crystal is a homophobe. The evidence of this is that he doesn't like gay sex-- a position which is apparently forbidden by the Clerisy in 2015.

He declined to cite any examples, but implied that intolerant attitudes he struggled with while playing Jodie Dallas from 1977 to 1981 have now swung the other way. According to The Wrap, he told an audience at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California: 'Sometimes, it's just pushing it a little too far for my taste and I'm not going to reveal to you which ones they are. 'I hope people don’t abuse it and shove it in our face… to the point where it feels like an every day kind of thing.'That last bit I think because he's now been forced into his Apology Tour, forced into lying about what he meant.
In a discussion reported in a blog on Xfinity, Crystal first blasted the today's culture of taking offense, then expressed his regret over speaking out at all. He said: 'We live in a very scary time in many ways. You can’t say this, you can’t say that, you can’t offend this group, that group. 'People come up to you and ask if you were offended. I don’t understand that. I understand it why everyone is watching out for the other person. That’s offensive to me.'
After some outlets blasted the comedian for his remarks -- which, out of context, could appear antigay -- The Hollywood Reporter asked Crystal to clarify his comments. "What I meant was that whenever sex or graphic nudity of any kind (gay or straight) is gratuitous to the plot or story it becomes a little too much for my taste," he told THR in a statement.It is officially now the Sexual Left's position that the only way you can not be homophobic is to be gay yourself, or to at least be open for some Gay Adventures.

That has been my prob with the gay community as well. You have to have very specific experiences and lifestyles and preferences into be a card carrying gay, anyone else is rejected from the clique. Friends and fam of mine have run into problems when they have butted up against what is acceptable gayness. Luckily, they are all opinionated and strong, so they just kind of go meh whatever and live their lives how they want, in their own terms, whether it makes them a bad gay or no. As it should be.
One of my gay Mormon friends, who married his BF last year out of state, is squicked out by anything at all sexually out of the norm, whereas the gay community tells him he should be open to seeing and trying anything under the sun. Well he's not, and he doesn't, and he couldn't be happier. That's just one example I can think of off the top of my head.

Haven't seen it yet but want to. The cast went on a local radio show and sounded nice enough over the airwaves. I know you are not allowed in our modern times to define others' sexuality for them, but I think they must be bisexual, not gay, because they say they ARE attracted to their wives. They call it an alternative to an alternative lifestyle, which I'm sure made the accepted members of the gay community's heads explode, hah.
I had a Mormon friend in college who was gay but married a girl. He was very open and up front with her about his sexuality, which is important I think if you go that route. There is so much potential for heartbreak, but as far as I know they are happy and thriving. I wouldn't wish it on myself, I have enough anxiety and body issues when I'm dating straight guys into me, for heavens sake! But some people can make it work, I guess it depends on your goals and wishes.

Years ago, when I was bartending in LA, this happened roughly once every 1-2 weeks:
Some guy would come in, usually the middle of the week, usually after 10pm,
sometimes they would look quite gay, sometimes they wouldn't look gay at all,
and they would start drinking a. lot..
And when the bar had emptied out a bit and they could talk to you fairly easily, they would always say something along these lines, almost exactly in these words every single time-
"I didn't want to be gay but my (uncle, coach, pastor, priest, friend's bother, etc) molested me when I was young...."
I'm not saying all gay guys started this way, but I bet enough of them did that they hate hate hearing any anti-gay sentiment cuz they hear it enough in their own heads.

And in the context that yes, he and his husband have sex, which I know to many here seems like an extremely alternative lifestyle, the sex they do have is apparently very vanilla and tame and they prefer that. No, I did not ask details, I am a lady plus I don't really want to know the intimate details of my friends' sex lives, I'm weird like that. By "make it work" I meant their relationship, the entire spectrum of married life not just the sex part. But as far as I know, in that area yes they have had sex and are monagamous. I don't chase them down with a camera to verify this obviously, it's their life to do as they wish. But they are both actively involved in the theatre community in Utah and from what I can tell have a stable married life.Again, not my cup of tea, and not how I'd choose to live my life. And who knows if this was the right choice; maybe he will choose differently down the road and leave her for a guy; like I said, it is a path fraught with heartbreak if the participants are not careful. I used to babysit a little boy who liked to dress up as dorthy all the time and was made fun of pretty ruthlessly because he was quite feminine.
Fast forward 15 years and he's an actor on Broadway and...he's gay.
But he dated girls in college, and I sort of feel like he feels like being gay is part of his persona since he's an actor.

I have maintained numerous times that as long as all participants are ****ADULTS**** and willing, I don't care what 2, 3, or 30 people do with each others' bodies.
So-cons on the other hand have a deep burning desire to tell adults how to live their lives.
When it comes to kids, given they are not adults, the rules change. Why this is so hard for you guys to understand is beyond me. There is all sorts of shit that is legal for adults but not legal for kids...booz, driving, voting, etc.
I can simultaneously think a 25 year old should buy all the beer he wants while a 15 year old should not be able to buy any beer. It's not that hard, really.

I feel the same way about All the King's Men, one of my all time favorite books. (I didn't like either movie version.) A major plot point and turning point in Jack Burden's life is when he finds out that his female friend is humping his boss. He can't handle the knowledge and runs away to California where he determines his Great Twitch theory that is essentially nihilism.
How is a young adult today supposed to understand that?

Kevin Hart's comment on why he doesn't play gay characters got a pass last week, I was surprised to see. Basically that he would have been too nervous to do the part properly. The normal followup question is "why nervous, are you a homophobe???" But they let him slide.

Holy crap. Right dead in the middle of winter. I had a buddy who dropped out around the same time. He enlisted when he was 22 or 23 with intention to become a seal. He didn't make it past the Great Lakes winter.
