"Israel occupied parts of Lebanon for 22 years until 2000, but the two countries are still technically at war and their armies occasionally skirmish along the UN-designated withdrawal line.

Israel fought a bloody war against Lebanon's Hezbollah in 2006, which killed more than 1,200 people in Lebanon, mostly civilians, and some 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers."

68 From earlier;

Remember when this happened?

The Constitutional Revival marches of 2015

"The three Constitutional Revival marches in 2015 were part of the
Constition Rights Movement and led to the passage that year of the
Constitution Re-Ratification Act, a landmark federal achievement of
the early part of the decade of 2010 American Constitutional Rights
Movement. Activists publicized the three protest marches to walk the
140-mile highway from Philidelphia to the United States capital of
Washington as showing the desire of American citizens to demand all of
their constitutional rights including the general focus on individual
rights and liberties and position as free citizens who own and finance
the government that works for them, and not that of slaves and serfs
to who the state is supreme and regal. This starts with the Bill of
Rights - in short

1 Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.
2 Right to keep and bear arms.
3 No quartering of soldiers.
4 Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.
5 Right to due process of law, freedom from self-incrimination, double jeopardy.
6 Rights of accused persons, e.g., right to a speedy and public trial.
7 Right of trial by jury in civil cases.
8 Freedom from excessive bail, cruel and unusual punishments.
9 Other rights of the people.
10 Powers reserved to the states. to vote, in defiance of segregationist repression.

His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The source told Kravitz that officials took a ball out of play at one point and weighed it.

New York Newsday's Bob Glauber tweeted around 7 a.m. Monday that NFL Spokesman Michael Signora confirmed the WTHR exclusive that the NFL is looking into whether footballs were properly inflated during the Colts-Patriots game.

A deflated football could potentially be easier to throw and catch or more difficult, depending on how deflated it is.

Kravitz was told that if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs, it would result in lost draft picks for the Patriots.

It's a larger issue than that. It speaks to private ownership. I can imagine no other right more significant than the ownership of one's labor, and the fruits of that labor. Those fruits are necessarily manifest as physical goods; specie, real property, etc., wealth, in general.

That a person should be able to expend, disperse, or consume that wealth in any manner which they wish, is a fundamental human right. That right extends to giving that wealth away, even post- mortem, which after all, only fixes a time.

necessarily manifest as physical goods; specie, real property, etc.,

That a person should be able to expend, disperse, or consume that

right extends to giving that wealth away, even post- mortem, which

You are correct, the ownership of private property is the cornerstone of our republic.
And for all intents and purposes, this right is gone.
Want to own a gun? Start looking at hoops you will be jumping through.
Want to buy a toilet? Light bulb? First you must ask the state permission.
And these are minor things.
Want to own some land? Taxes, taxes taxes.
Look, if you don't pay taxes, they will eventually take your land.
Are we even allowed to own land anymore? If they can take it if I don't comply with their arbitrary rules, how can it be said that I own it? The state owns it. And they own you.
Time to go out into the streets has long past.

Well, if the movie is one of your faves, I understand the dislike.

The whole point of the movie, "12 Monkeys" was that nothing in the past could be changed at all.

The past in essence was set in stone.

The hero in "12 Monkeys" went back so they could pin-point the source of the plague and get a an original sample to make a vaccine from for future use.
That was why the woman leader was there at the end. Though the hero didn't know this.

So, a somewhat hopeful ending.

That wouldn't work in a weekly series. Oops! Past still set in stone. Well, tune in next week to see nothing change.

So, for a series the past has to be able to change.

That's a plotting detail that gives the series a mystery to solve and episode longevity.

But, not everyone likes the same thing so....

set of footballs and those are taken off the field when possession

I am not sure how deflated balls mattered all that much as the Patriots ran over the Colts like a mack truck over a smart car.

Fitting imagery. It was raining like all get out up there, a wet ball would be more suspect than a deflated ball. However, I agree with you that it's all blather to ease over a truly embarrassing championship game. Luck and his Colts were just not ready to play that day, and it showed.

I am looking forward to a Seahawks-Pats game though. The Seahawks were down 16-0 for half the game and still rallied to win with some good plays. That's what will be needed against the Patriots.

Obama Calls British PM David Cameron 'Bro'

Bob Schieffer sat down and interviewed British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday's Face the Nation to discuss the recent Paris terror attacks by radical Muslims. At one point in the discussion, Schieffer asked Cameron about the "special nick-name" Obama sometimes used to address the prime minister: "bro."

Speculation that there was a "chain of custody" issue, supposedly a statement from NFL coming later.

268 The U.S. military sent about 3,000 troops to West Africa to build centers like this one in recent months. They were intended as a crucial safeguard against an epidemic that flared in unpredictable, deadly waves. But as the outbreak fades in Liberia, it has become clear that the disease had already drastically subsided before the first American centers were completed. Several of the U.S.-built units havent seen a single patient infected with Ebola.

And no one in my Unit can get the training they need because there is no money

Seriously, Steele needs to review major newspaper and weekly news magazines for the week leading up to Christmas and the week leading up to Easter every year for the past decade or two.

Like clockwork you can count on these publications to print stories about religion being over(didn't TIME do a "God is Dead" cover?), some sort of church hypocrisy story, or highlight someone within a church who is actively rebelling in order to "modernize" it (e.g. rebel female "priest", tattoo-covered, former druggie Epsicopal lesbian minister preaches to those the church ignores, etc.).

It does not matter how close the game was. It matters that unlike Spygate there was a direct impact on every single play of that game.

They must know whether or not the balls were systematically under inflated by now. DQ the Patriots and put the Colts in the Superbowl. There's plenty of time for the Colts to prepare.

Not unrelatedly, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter has a speech on YourFace where he leads off by saying something to this effect: "How many of you would give your life for your country?"

Followed by "How many of you would give up your job/income for your country?"

325 Wouldn't it make sense, be more reliable, and fair for the NFL to provide balls for the games that are equivalent? I mean, why does the QB get to fluff his balls to his liking?
Doesn't anyone consider whether the receivers have feelings about the QB's balls? I mean, who is more important in ball handling, a QB who barely has to catch the ball two feet away, or a receiver trying to catch a 40mph ball thrown thirty yards.

This ball thing seems really unfair.

If they had stuck together, more of them might have survived.

It's a lesson in how not to act in the wild. People think the Donner party were all huddled in one campsite, when in fact they had splintered into factions spread in camps over an 8-mile area.

That was one dysfunctional group, even before the cannibalism part.

369 337 -

Frank Crosetti was a New York Yankee from 1932 to 1948. He mostly played shortstop, and by all accounts he was a decent fielder, but not much of a hitter. Which doesn't really matter much, if you are playing for the Yankees from '32-48, because they kinda sorta had the offense covered in those years.

Anyway, Crosetti's Yankees went to 7 World Series during his career. They won 6. He was the starting shortstop on the 6 winners, and barely played at all on the one they lost. His lifetime batting average for the 7 World Series is .174.

You could say Frank Crosetti was a winner, and by some very important measures, he was. But nobody pretends the reason the Yankees were a great team is because of Frank Crosetti.

Just for grins, I looked up other shortstops playing the same era as Crosetti. Look at the career of Luke Appling for comparison. His career spanned from 1930 to 1950. Appling never once played in a World Series.

Just think, since it's peak in 1913 (when it was the 10th wealthiest economy in the world), it has descended to mass poverty and joblessness. With a government riddled by corruption it now has become a second home to Iranian terror operations, and it was they who presumably killed the prosecutor. What a story.
