The dog does not appear to be distressed.

And as for animal abuse--do I call PETA because I tripped over my dog's lead (she was chained to a post in the front yard watching me load my car) and broke my elbow-shattering it into six pieces? Will PETA pay for the two surgeries needed to fix it? This all happened some ten years ago and the dog and I continued to happily coexist until it was time to put her down when she was old and feeble at 14.

Having not seen the clip (and not caring), I'm going to point out a couple of things Our Good Friends on the Left seem to have missed.

1- Trig Palin is a CHILD. In many ways, he will always be a child. To judge him as though he were an adult is... stupid.

2- Many mentally handicapped children have problems with motor coordination- both gross and fine. It is entirely possible he stepped on the dog completely accidentally.

3- If he didn't step on the dog accidentally, he is still a child with a mental handicap. Along with reduced motor coordination, the mentally handicapped also often have emotion control issues. Assuming he stepped on the dog on purpose, see point 1 about issuing judgement as though he were an adult.

4- Fuck the Left.

I patted him on the head, told him he was a good boy and maybe it was time to go in now.
