Obama Boots Wedding Off Venue He's Got the Golf Jones

They'd been planning the wedding for months, obviously, but Obama decided to play golf on a whim and so had them relocated under serious time pressures.

The golf course, located on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, is a regular stop for Obama when he's in the state, with the Ko’olau Mountains framing the front nine and majestic views of Pacific coastline spanning the back nine...

Still, anyone planning an event at the course when the president may be in town is warned about the potential for last-minute shuffling, said Naile Brennan, manager of K Bay Catering, which was handling logistics for the wedding....

So Obama came in to golf, and the wedding had to be re-located in a hurry.

President Privilege eventually called the bride -- after Bloomberg called him to let him know they were writing up his latest golf outrage.

What a guy.

The story I read is that this couple sent Obama a wedding invitation as a lark because they knew he was spending Christmas in Hawaii. The RSVP was declined....but oops, you have to move your wedding.

Cost of flying the family out to see the wedding is less, and with two officers you're probably looking at conflicting unit training schedules, possible deployments, etc.

Christmas holiday actually makes a lot of sense. Units generally shut down from Thanksgiving to the beginning of January so soldiers can take time off.

There are all sorts of weddings happening these days, including the ones that have two grooms and/or two brides, or two grooms, three goats, and a goldfish.

Pretending you know what this couple experiences is you imposing your concept of what a wedding should be on this situation.

Maybe the bride was upset. I don't know. You, however, don't either.

Didn't our lovely Republican Congress do this? Yeah Clinton was supposed to be the last one to get a lifetime Secret Service detail. Bush let it go. And then Emperor Double Bogey comes along and it has to be changed again. Of course they retroactively gave Bush the lifetime detail again too.

245 I have a theory about his approval rating. It seems way higher that I would expect, but I think it is the "soft bigotry of low expectations" at work.

People expect much worse from him, so, for example, when the R's take control of the senate, they think his last two years will be more tolerable, and thus his approval goes up.

kind of how the unemployment numbers look good because so many people have given up,...

249 Military officers play the homeboy hookup game just like many others. High ranking people showing up is an opportunity to meet them and hopefully expand the network a bit. These days, when they seem to be purging half the officer corps out, who you know (or who people think you know) must be very important.

Certain officers are also ruthless career climbers (my last CO comes to mind).

In April, the first large-scale measurements of the way humans play Rock-Paper-Scissors revealed a hidden pattern of play that opponents can exploit to gain a vital edge.

But a closer inspection of their behavior reveals something else. Zhijian and co say that players who win tend to stick with the same action while those who lose switch to the next action in a clockwise direction (where R -> P -> S is clockwise).

357 Crying passengers on board a transatlantic flight have hailed a hero pilot after he was forced to perform an emergency landing on broken landing gear.

The Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 with more than 450 people on board was meant to go to Las Vegas but was forced to return to London after developing a technical fault shortly after take-off.

For several hours the jumbo jet circled the airport and made several low-altitude passes so engineers could inspect the landing gear problem, leaving some passengers distraught as they were forced to adopt the brace position.

The plane finally landed with only three quarters of its landing gear down after a set of wheels on the starboard wing refused to drop.

Passenger Dan Crane, 24, from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, said the mood before the landing was 'anxious'. He said: 'A lot were worried, some crying. They said it was an emergency landing and we had to brace on impact.'

But the terrified passengers then cheered and applauded the hero pilot - named only by passengers as 'Dave' - after he landed the jumbo jet safely with only a few on board suffering minor injuries.

After all, the article (if we can believe what we read in the media) says they had several contingency plans all lined up, and held the ceremony at a more secluded, even more gorgeous location on the commander's lawn.

And here's something else worth noting: if this is a military couple, with typical military bearing, they are going to be respectful, and defer to the President, NOT because of his or their politics, but because that's what military people do.

same for 100% for democraps who would happily let his majesty piss on their heads.

I don't believe for a second that any of the 3 categories above would be inconvenienced at all, especially fags since their marriage is already a scam.

Your professional experience in ceremonies organization is irrelevant since it never happened to you or someone you know to move away your ceremony because the emperor had to vacation there.

The comment that gay caterers might be upset is extremely stupid. They are PAID to perform a job and might ask for an increase if they go out of budget, unlike the soon to be married couple who are not paid.

Glad that someone around 150 message wrote this before me. It means there are still conservatives with a brain commenting on this board. Repeat after me 90% of gheys would sell their lab-made fertilized eggs to have their 'marriage' moved by the first ghey president. Kudos to the first poster who wrote it.

After all, the article (if we can believe what we read in the media) says they had several contingency plans all lined up, and held the ceremony at a more secluded, even more gorgeous location on the commander's lawn.

******

If it was that much better, it would have been there first choice. I think the commanders' lawn was maybe the commander being nice because of our president being a jerk.

Also the 'invite' to the wedding was probably a 'PLEASE don't schedule your golf game during our wedding' passive agressive move. That clearly did not work.

Plus, once issued, the Chit (paper form) is to be carried on the Sailors person at all times while in Uniform and is considered an inspectable item when demanded.

Obama mastered the talent of appearing as a blank slate so that people could project their own values onto him. A 2008 NRO article discussed John McCain doing something similar (though he wasn't anywhere near as good at it as Obama). The example used was both pro-gun control and pro-gun rights voters assuming that McCain stood by their respective positions.

Obama's lack of a record as a legislator helped with that.

627 Scalise's gonna go with the Catholic defense. Smart.

Top Republican doesn't deny speech to white supremacist group
http://tinyurl.com/m26z83b

In a statement, Scalise communications director Moira Smith said the congressman has no ties to the "abhorrent group in question." She said the 2002 speech came as Scalise was barnstorming his district to discuss a ballot initiative he opposed. The appearance was first reported on Sunday on CenLamar.com, a Louisiana politics blog run by Lamar White Jr.

"Throughout his career in public service, Mr. Scalise has spoken to hundreds of different groups with a broad range of viewpoints. In every case, he was building support for his policies, not the other way around," Smith said. "In 2002, he made himself available to anyone who wanted to hear his proposal to eliminate slush funds that wasted millions of taxpayer dollars as well as his opposition to a proposed tax increase on middle-class families."

"He has never been affiliated with the abhorrent group in question," she said. "The hate-fueled ignorance and intolerance that group projects is in stark contradiction to what Mr. Scalise believes and practices as a father, a husband and a devoted Catholic."

A source close to Scalise acknowledged the speech likely happened, but said the then-Louisiana state representative -- who at the time only had one staffer -- wasn't aware that the innocuously named organization was a white supremacist group. Had he known its affiliation, the source said, he would not have spoken before its members.

"He has never affiliated with a white supremacist group," the source said. "He doesn't have hate in his heart the way that these disgusting people do."

631 I don't know if anyone has mentioned it above but apparently the beach the JEF and his family are abusing is one that's used by military families so he's stopped them from using it for the whole holiday season as well.

And, of course, whenever he goes to the military golf club in D.C. he's bumping any military that originally had the time-slot reserved too.

And that just reminded me of another such atrocity. You may remember from last summer TFG going out with all his staff to a fancy rib place that was another MFM photo-op jizz session. Apparently the place only cooks X amount of ribs per day so you have to have a reservation to get some before they run out for the day. So him showing up uninvited and unannounced meant that he screwed 20 or 30 customers out of their orders (or however many staff he "treated" that day).
