Barack and Michelle Obama are sharing their own personal experiences with racial prejudice, saying they've been mistaken for valet drivers and Target employees - the latter even occurring during their time at the White House.

"The only person who came up to me in the [Target] store was a woman who asked me to help her take something off a shelf. Because she didn't see me as the first lady, she saw me as someone who could help her," Michelle Obama told People magazine, recalling a trip she made to Target, according to excerpts released Wednesday.

"Lesbian and Bisexual (LB) women may be at elevated risk for developing T2D because they are more likely than heterosexual women to experience Obesity and other risk factors linked with T2D such as cigarette smoking, Violence victimization, and depressive distress," the grant added.

Because she didn't see me as the first lady, she saw me as someone who could help her," Michelle Obama told People magazine, recalling a trip she made to Target, according to excerpts released Wednesday."

I mean, does this strike anyone else as hard to believe that some random person would be allowed to wander over to the first lady and ask for help like that? I mean, i get that she's tall, I helped a lady at the grocery store last week reach something high up, it's a cutesy anecdote that doesn't seem plausible. More plausible that they found a short woman and asked her to set up the cutesy moment with the first lady.

On a side note this issue with be mistaken for employee. I get that maybe for certain demographics it's more common, but as a average white dude, I've been mistaken for a store employee several dozen times in the last 15 years or so. Is this that unusual that it becomes some coded race thing? If you are well dressed standing by the valet stand while the valet is fetching your car it seems to me that a fairly common mistake might be for someone to wander up and ask for/or hand over their keys.

51 Well, good morning everybody.
Venezuela is closing its border with Colombia at night now. This is not out of provocation or fear, but because the Venezuelan government is subsidizing staples like rice, oil, and toilet paper, and is claiming that entrepreneurs are buying it all up at the reduced (subsidized) rates and taking them to Colombia where they can be sold at a higher (market) price.

This is probably false, it is has been found in the past what really happens is that subsidized good immediately go into the black market locally where it is sold at a higher cost than it would without the subsidy. However, dictators do need people to blame for their incompetence when they act stupidly

Glad I could bring you this little bit of economics for breakfast!

93 Why didn't the woman ask one of Mooch's SS detail, since that's as close as she should have been able to get?

Which is the Tell and how you know the story is BS.
Rolling Stone quality.

So what if all this Sony hacker stuff is just a brilliant viral marketing ploy for the movie...

Posted by: Buzzsaw90
............
Well, then it backfired, cuz it's not so brilliant.

Who is going to be stupid enough to go to a theater to see that movie on opening night knowing the theaters are being targeted? I predict they will be nearly empty.

95 Has there ever been a more vile and loathesome couple occupying the White House?

I believe Mary Todd-Lincoln (already with the hyphen) used to let farm animals roam through the WH.

Still not as vile and loathsome.

The threat against theaters is ludicrous though, Osama on his best day wouldn't be able to target 10 theaters let alone 4000, it's just bluster.

It's for sure not a viral marketing scheme, the exposure of personal information is legit, and no way in hell would the head of a company be outed as a possible racist as a viral marketing prank. Oh lolz it was a just a joke, yeah not likely.

The movie probably sucks, but all this makes me want to go see if more. I see lefties complaining about how dare we make a movie showing the death of a sitting head of state... really? I remember a movie in '06 about assasinating Bush, seems like that was not uniformly condemned by the same liberals.

The folks who voted for The O will probably be in attendance.
If they are stupid enough to vote for him they are probably stupid enough to put themselves in harms way.
