Not 'may not have been up.' Weren't up.

The autopsies (yes, plural) show rounds entering his forearm, exiting his forearm and re-entering his chest cavity. This is simply not possible if your arms are raised.

Mike Brown's friends have every reason to lie. Officer Wilson has even more reason to lie. Physical, forensic evidence though, can't lie. It simply is.

The evidence shows Brown was closing on Wilson, hands decidedly unraised, when he was killed.

3.5 million people watched the parade

About 50 showed up with protest signs

About 7 were arrested for trying to "disrupt" the parade.

Sounds like they wanted to get enough to stand in the street and block it, but the police "encouraged" them to move along. Heavy police presence.

272 @267 what does that even mean asshat?

Posted by: Talibill at November 28, 2014 09:27 AM (in9qW)

273
When I see birches bend to left and right
Across the line of straighter darker trees,
I like to think some boy's been swinging them.
But swinging doesn't bend them down to stay.
Ice-storms do that. Often you must have seen them
Loaded with ice a sunny winter morning
After a rain. They click upon themselves
As the breeze rises, and turn many-colored
As the stir cracks and crazes their enamel.
Soon the sun's warmth makes them shed crystal shells
Shattering and avalanching on the snow-crust ---
Such heaps of broken glass to sweep away
You'd think the inner dome of heaven had fallen.
They are dragged to the withered bracken by the load,
And they seem not to break; though once they are bowed
So low for long, they never right themselves:
You may see their trunks arching in the woods
Years afterwards, trailing their leaves on the ground
Like girls on hands and knees that throw their hair
Before them over their heads to dry in the sun.
But I was going to say when Truth broke in
With all her matter-of-fact about the ice-storm
(Now am I free to be poetical?)
I should prefer to have some boy bend them
As he went out and in to fetch the cows ---
Some boy too far from town to learn baseball,
Whose only play was what he found himself,
Summer or winter, and could play alone.
One by one he subdued his father's trees
By riding them down over and over again
Until he took the stiffness out of them,
And not one but hung limp, not one was left
For him to conquer. He learned all there was
To learn about not launching out too soon
And so not carrying the tree away
Clear to the ground. He always kept his poise
To the top branches, climbing carefully
With the same pains you use to fill a cup
Up to the brim, and even above the brim.
Then he flung outward, feet first, with a swish,
Kicking his way down through the air to the ground.

So was I once myself a swinger of birches;
And so I dream of going back to be.
It's when I'm weary of considerations,
And life is too much like a pathless wood
Where your face burns and tickles with the cobwebs
Broken across it, and one eye is weeping
From a twig's having lashed across it open.
I'd like to get away from earth awhile
And then come back to it and begin over.
May no fate wilfully misunderstand me
And half grant what I wish and snatch me away
Not to return. Earth's the right place for love:
I don't know where it's likely to go better.
I'd like to go by climbing a birch tree,
And climb black branches up a snow-white trunk
Toward heaven, till the tree could bear no more,
But dipped its top and set me down again.
That would be good both going and coming back.
One could do worse than be a swinger of birches.

381 I have a similar pistol, a Hungarian FEG in the same caliber. It's a fun little pistol, but it beats up your hand a good bit.

It does that. I put a stronger Wolf recoil spring and a weaker hammer spring in mine and it helped both the recoil and the horrendous DA trigger. What I like is that it can fit in your front pants pocket undetected. And it has the best decocking safety I know of. Hammer block and pin capture. I have no qualms at all carrying it Cond 2 next to my nuts.

I just got a PA-63 ($198 delivered from Wideners) and it's unclear to me from messing with it whether it is a decocking safety or not. It will decock, seemingly, but it's leaving the trigger back.

390 My Sig does that, sort of. Pressing the decocking lever down drops the hammer to the first detent but when you let the lever back up it puts the hammer down the rest of the way.

That's what this FEG is doing. Put the safety on and the hammer drops, but the trigger stays back. Flip it off and the trigger resets, and then put the safety back on. I've been scared to try this with a live round in the chamber, but it seems weird to me. I don't know if that's how it's intended to work or not.

393 I've been meaning to axe you if you know of any
stateside weavers of tartans. I can't find any and kilts from there
(England, Ireland and Scotland) are horribly expensive. My clan name is
fairly common over there, so it's not obscure.

I really don't, and the fabric can run 20-30/yard (and you need 6-10 yards, depending) so that can get pretty pricy.

398 For your son's phone, I highly recommend getting the loss/damage insurance. Yeah, it's expensive, and make sure you know what it covers to make sure it actually covers breakage and not just circuit failures, but you KNOW a teenage boy is going to destroy that thing. As, a mature adult, I naturally didn't take it, so I just replaced my Android with an IPhone 6 when I smashed the glass,.... And yesterday I managed to break the glass on the iPhone too.

Sadly, I don't even have the excuse that alcohol was involved either time... Just raw natural stupidity and well-practiced clumsiness.

It is.
Putting the safety on drops the hammer and also takes the firing pin out of action. You can then release/remove the safety and the firing pin is still blocked. Then it only takes a heavy double action squeeze of the trigger or if you cock the hammer first a smooth single action trigger.

Or so I've heard.

Posted by: Sven S Blade a.k.a. El Assassin@sven10077 at November 28, 2014 03:52 PM (/4AZU)

410 Sven, is the FEG's safety a reliable decocker? When I put it on, the hammer drops but the trigger does not return to the reset position. Is this normal?

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:53 PM (rwI+c)

411 I have to put the safety on, then off, then back on.

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:53 PM (rwI+c)

412 It's the PA63, but I don't know how to tell what year it is. It just has a serial number and proof marks on it.

413 410 Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:53 PM (rwI+c)

It depends on the model, my P9RK's decocker acted strangely until I ate the 50 bucks to send it to the gunsmith and get a functions check and reassembly...

The safety on it is adequate, but spooky a bit.

Posted by: Sven S Blade a.k.a. El Assassin@sven10077 at November 28, 2014 03:55 PM (/4AZU)

414 I like the safety on the P64 the best. It seems rock solid and disconnects the trigger completely. I was hoping this one would work the same way but it does not appear to do so. The trigger mechanism is still engaged, just blocked.

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:57 PM (rwI+c)

415 Yeah spooky. I haven't decocked on a live round yet for that reason.

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:57 PM (rwI+c)

416 412 Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 03:54 PM (rwI+c)

Ah ok...the PA-63 is a far different pistol the P9 series was a 5906/HP-36 hybrid...

http://tinyurl.com/ye4p477

The PA-63's decocker is involved in operation of the safety entirely...it MUST be forward to disengage the safety...

418 Well, Jim and I both got the PA63s. They are on sale at Wideners for $198 delivered. Too good to pass up at that price.

I guess I will just have to take the weapon outside and try decocking on a live round, or just thumb it like a 1911 forever.

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 04:00 PM (rwI+c)

419 418 Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 04:00 PM (rwI+c)

The PA-63 base seems to feel it takes some wear in, and possibly smith time...

Essentially it is a simplified PPK with all that bears, I don't really use a decocker myself anyway I am a manual decocking guy but I haven't carried in a while.

Posted by: Sven S Blade a.k.a. El Assassin@sven10077 at November 28, 2014 04:03 PM (/4AZU)

420 or maybe I should just lube and action the decocker about a thousand times and see if the trigger loosens up. The fact that it's not going back to reset when the hammer drops bugs me.

Posted by: toby928(C) at November 28, 2014 04:04 PM (rwI+c)

421 Both these PA63s look like they were rarely if every fired so maybe they just need break in as you say.

Thanks for the help.
