46 Mr. Obama spotted a new book behind the register, The Stranger: Barack Obama in the White House, by Chuck Todd, host of NBCs Meet the Press. The president noted that he looked lonely on the cover, and Malia asked, How is he already writing a book? With a smile, Malia added that her father looked sad on the cover. Looks like a sad book, she said teasingly, in a typical family exchange not often seen from the Obamas in public.

So the kid know's Todd just took over Meet the Press and is questioning how he has already written a book? Seems political to me.

It's what I have come to call..."The Bush Gambit". It's why GWB called Islam "A Religion of Peace", which it most certainly is not. But trying to find allies in a war against militant/fascist states that just also happened to be Muslim. Worked for a little while (poorly) , but then the International Left did their best to undermine all that.

Pope Francis is giving them (another) chance to show that they (Muslims) can function as participants in a civilized world. A few can, most don't want to and will give Francis the figurative (or literal) middle finger. They have their own version of 'civilization', that is based on a lot of cultural norms that are at least a millenium old.
It's gonna fail again, but maybe a few more of the mis-informed will notice this time. It have no idea what Pope Francis really thinks he is up to, but he should crack a few books on the history of his own Church and their interactions with Islam.

I guess it matters what you read
sometimes or who reports it. This from Breitbart.
Francis spoke of the "plea" coming from the victims of violent conflicts...."scared by the inhumane and brutal war".
Francis said that "committing every act of violence - or consenting to such acts - especially when directed against the weakest and defenseless, is a profoundly grave sin against God, since it means showing contempt for the image of God which is man."

He was specifically talking about jihadists and IS.

211 bacon grease a good finish for gun barrels?

Lots of salt in bacon grease, so I wouldn't recommend it...OTOH, unsalted lard works pretty well, although it turns rust red as it oxidizes. That last little fact gave me kind of a bad moment once when checking a flintlock I had greased with lard as a field expedient and then forgotten to get back to.

212 I guess it matters what you read
sometimes or who reports it.

305 I'm never surprised when ProgMedia can lie and create riots over Ferguson situation -- look how they were able to lie about Oswald for 50 years and blame the Right for dirtbag Communist Oswald's actions.

If they can get away with a 50 year lie blaming conservatives for Kennedy, they can get away with almost anything.

306 90 WD-40 is NOT a lubricant. It was designed as a hydrophobic application.)))

Works great for drying out distributor caps.

It will always be Turkey to me.

That has got to be some sort of fucked up Thanksgiving racism to someone, somewhere.

309 @199,
If he hit a cop with a donut, it would be assault. Fortunately, my stepson missed and the cop just called out a roadblock to catch him and his friends. He got charged with interfering with an office in the line of duty. He threw a donut at a cop writing a ticket.

See, you learn all sorts of real life stuff here!

I haven't done any store shopping, I'm all online now. My Thanksgiving guests had to leave early last year to go shopping. This year we all sat back and just enjoyed ourselves. Black Friday may be dead.

313 I assume you mean it's changed for the worse. When I say I rarely left "campus" I was including a half-mile radius of club, frat, team-houses, bars, pizza joints, etc, and even then there were some blocks we walked around to "keep out of trouble".

Poor man .
Now there's a gaggle of 'youths' looking at a very few years in juvie gladiator academy after killing a man with a f8cking hammer .
They'll be back on the street soon .
Hopefully their next victim will drop 'em all like a bad habit .

331 Although Francis is from Argentina, his parents were Italian. I consider him to be a resumption of the long line of Italian Popes. The Pole and the German were really quite good. I suspect he really is "Peter the Roman."

To me, the jury is still out on him. You can trust a Jesuit to be Commie. It's the way they are programmed. It's a feature, not a bug.
