19 On a lighter note: For those that don't know about history ... Here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals, and
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement...

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. They became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass for obvious reasons.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare.. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Bud or Coors. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, engineers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America . They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

25 538 posted a handy chart comparing the number of people affected by EO's on immigration over the last 40 years, and there have been a surprising number of them. Most EOs appear to have fixed small issues with legislation and were later confirmed by Congress. Only one prior EO affected more than one million people (most were in he low thousands) in one fell swoop, and it was a George H.W.Bush EO.

The crowd erupted in cheers. In Giants stadium.

On air it was noted that many Giants fans sell their tickets to opponents. Even Cowboys fans, apparently.

How long before the NFL decides to penalize individuals who sell to undesirables?

And what about the people who've spent years going through the immigration process legally? What about them and their lives? Do they not matter? Do we have the right to treat those people unfairly -- which Obama's illegal amnesty does -- because they didn't break the law, and they weren't working in low-paying jobs?

And what about American citizens, especially those who live near the border? What about their lives, lives that Obama is endangering with his serial illegal amnesties, amnesties which we know for a fact encourage more illegal immigration -- illegal immigration which burdens all American taxpayers, and endangers American lives? What about those lives? Why are the lives of law-breaking foreigners more important, and deserving of special treatment, than the lives of American citizens?

Wicking layer then one or two warmth retention layers.

Keep your feet warm and dry and keep your head covered and you can do with much less outer clothing if you're working and not standing around.

Wind breaking and sweat wicking from your body will also be better than a thick layer of heat retention. Layers are good so you can adjust how fast you cool off compared with how much heat/sweat you are generating.

Old hikers advice (and old soldiers too) take care of your feet and they will take care of you.

Why did Salem buy HotAir for a million+? Political insight like this:

It might take a little political jujitsu to pull it off, but Barack Obama may have inadvertently opened the door for Republicans to move forward in their incremental approach to immigration reform.

In jujitsu, one does not confront an opponent's strength head on, but uses it against him. Obama clearly wanted to make himself look like the compassionate actor in this debate, and Republicans the heartless, cruel nativists. Instead of trying to fight that battle, make Obama own it and bypass it for the real battle the GOP wants to win on border security. Make Democrats vote against a border security bill, and make Obama veto one while his own amnesty remains in place.

Ed Morrisey

Let Obama have his amnesty

In first the lawyers news:

An attorney who got his client sentenced to death and then dressed up in court as Thomas Jefferson to defend himself against accusations of incompetence has had his right to practice law withdrawn by the Kansas Supreme Court.

Dennis Hawver was adjudged to have shown "inexplicable incompetence" as a defense attorney for Phillip Cheatham during his original 2005 murder trial, according to Friday's unanimous decision to disbar him. After ruling that Hawver had failed to properly represent his client, the court reversed Cheatham's conviction and ordered a new trial.

During the original trial, Hawver had told prospective jurors that his client Cheatham was 'a professional drug dealer' and a 'shooter of people'. He also failed to present evidence that might have proven that Cheatham was not in Topeka at the time of murder for which he was charged, Hawver had told jurors in his closing argument that they should execute the killer.

167 I a feared the DA is harassing the panel into voting a true bill though they don't want to.

I believe that a Grand Jury doesn't have to be unanimous so all they need is one person who desperately needs to go home and they've got their victim.

They'll probably couch it in terms of cop should get his day in court and so should the "community".

F**kers.

There are 12 people on the Grand Jury. In order to bring forward and Indictment, they need 9 people to vote for it. So it they only have 8 or less in favor of an Indictment, then there is NO Indictment.

Pretty sure the GJ only needs nine votes for a True Bill. Whether that's MO or everywhere, I really don't know.

My bet is the DA (and the U.S. AG, and Choom Boy) will get it. The jurors have to be damn sure which side their bread is buttered on by now....

That's our new hopey-changey operating procedure.

But, we do have open borders.

So, we've got that working for us.

176 The feds have confirmed that there is insuff evid and that they will not prosecute either.

To push the GJ or file charges anyway, in unconsciousable. But due to obama, holder, and prosecutors who will do anything to get black voters (Corey and Bondi) the criminal justce system now panders to the mob. Zimmerman and Wilson are not the ony cases where people are being put through the wringer to satisfy the mob.
