Whoopsie Daisy: Obama Makes "Mistake" In Reporting 2013 Obamacare Enrollments, Falsely Claiming It Hit 7 Million Sign-Ups Threshold By "Mistakenly" Including Dental Plans Along With Health Care Plans
The Administration had set 7 million as its goal. It was very important, politically, that they be able to claim that had met it.
Alas, only 6.97 million people signed up for Obamacare. So you know what time it is. It's time for an Obama "mistake" that just coincidentally enough happens to aid him politically -- the Administration made a whoopsie-daisy and "accidentally" included almost 400,000 dental plan sign-ups in the health care figures, thus meeting its 7 million sign-up goals. Well not really but they were able to claim such for close to a year. Whoops! Lower, Actually: Actually, enrollments are under 6.9 or so million, more like 6.7 million. Really, honestly, there's nothing Republicans in the current congress can do. The new majority has not been sat yet, so it's still the R House vs the D Senate, which plays to TFG's Executive Amnesty.
The problem I have (I speak for no others) is what might be called the "battle field preparation" of the Republicans. It seems to be that they're setting the field for surrender, they they are, if the analogy will hold, setting "date certain for withdrawal."
By so doing, they only encourage the current lawlessness, because TFG can look ahead and see no down-side for this action. There wouldn't be an immediate downside anyway (see also: D Senate), but if the Republicans would show a unified front (and some smarts) on this, he *would* see a downside starting in January.
He might think differently if he knew that he wouldn't get any more judges appointed (that's a big thing for Democrats, what with their love of activist judges), and no new AG, and so forth. But right now, none of that is on the table. NOTHING is (apparently) on the table, so there's no negative for him in evidence.

Particularly with regard to cancer survival rates after diagnosis. (A huge number of UK citizens on the NHS die of cancer without even having had one consultation with an oncologic specialist. They've got GPs trying to treat metastatic tumors.)
But it does no good and makes no difference. They have their cherished myth of superiority over the barbaric and cruel Yank hordes, and they'll clutch that around their shoulders all the way to the mortuary.

That gives rise to the torso zombies who apparently don't need any lower half to continue to exist.

Had a long conversation with the admin folks over this recently when I told them to drop my coverage (I get Tricare because USN-Ret) and then we can drop the polite pretense that they pay for anything. That isn't "Insurance". That's a shared cost medical plan where you pay x amount and if you don't get sick or have an accident you get squat.
And because what they pay the care givers is so low, you don't get very good or timely care either.
And that's what happens when some bitch about free riders, some pay too much and some pay too little which is the way things were before.
It's also about actually pricing medical care accurately. Since they were spreading the costs around, a lot of people with insurance didn't realize how much it was all costing. And those who get it free or a reduced cost didn't care. It were those who didn't have a plan or insurance that were supplying the money.
Now the real costs will be spread amongst everyone (and I do mean everyone) Plus added on top will be the cost of Federal administration.
That's why the numbers are so high.

How many illegals does that subsidize? Because one person does not typically need that amount of care unless they're hit with a major accident or disease. Heck, even when you deduct the "free" birth control that would have cost you $100 - $200 annually, that's a lot to pay in.

And here's the thing...
Most all policies have doubled or tripled in cost now, since Ocare was passed.
So there are a lot more policies that qualify for the Cadillac Tax now, than when it was passed!
And...the 'cut off' points were figured back when policies were cheaper.
So, if they were the slightest bit interested in being 'fair'...they would've allowed for the cut off amounts to be adjusted, based on the inflationary aspects of the Ocare law.

So for $760 a month in premiums, we have catastrophe insurance that will only begin an 80/20 coverage once we have paid an additional $8,000 in costs.
Realize that Obamacare did NOTHING to rein in costs on the care side of the equations and actually added costs by mandating preexisting must be covered, women cannot pay more than men, all policies must cover preventive care including mammograms and colonoscopies, must cover birth control, vaccinations, etc.
No tort reform , which is why you see endless commercials from lawyers warning you that every drug you might be prescribed certainly has done some kind of damage to you and to call immediately. Every surgical procedure, every hip or knee replacement.
(of course, you never see ads offering legal services for botched abortions or disfiguring breast implants)
So physicians and hospitals are still paying out the wazoo for insurance and lawyers of their own, and that cost is why aspirin in a hospital costs ten dollars.
The entire idea was to destroy insurance and have people panicking, wanting to know how anyone could afford insurance....so they will be begging the government for universal coverage.

Lost in the bogus talk about minimum wages is how Medicaid can pay as low as $1.38 for an xray. This not even enough to pay the receptionist to set up such an appointment, nor the assistant to set up the room, nor take the xray, nor the dentist to evaluate the xray, nor the assistant to break down the room for the next patient.
