Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, November 14, 2014. On this day in 1889 Nellie Bly (yes she was a real person) set out to beat Jules Verne's fictional Phileas Fogg time of 80 days to travel around the world. She did it in 72.

Well the first of the "investigations" into the cause of the WH intruder getting in is out. I didn't see gross incompetence in there anywhere and I didn't see anyone getting fired (someone did resign). I did see this.
The report cites many reasons as to why the Secret Service failed in its response, including inadequate training, poor staffing decisions and outdated or inefficient communication technology. I was a trained Root Cause Evaluator and also qualified to lead teams on significant event evaluations. There are two major problems in that paragraph above that lead me to believe this investigation was done by people not qualified to do them, or that it was a sham. First it says there were "many reasons". That is a tale-tale sign that they were shotgunning and really did not dig down, or they were trying to keep blame away from senior personnel. The second problem is "training". Any time they blame training it is a significant indicator that the investigation was looking for a scapegoat. I also found it notable that nobody was fired for this. Or if they were it has not been given to the press. Also note that the old government bleg for more money is found in there. http://is.gd/JGIDQ0 Posted by: Vic at November 14, 2014 06:49 AM (u9gzs) 3

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has concluded that problems in the nation's nuclear forces are rooted in a lack of investment, inattention by high-level leaders and sagging morale, and is ordering top-to-bottom changes, vowing to invest billions of dollars to fix the management of the world's most deadly weapons, two senior defense officials told The Associated Press on Thursday.
IOW beating will continue until morale improves. We will spend a lot of money on political fixes to enrich cronies and we really don't give a shit about the nuclear deterrent or the military, which is why this shit got the way it is to begin with. http://is.gd/HEVIvh Posted by: Vic at November 14, 2014 06:50 AM (u9gzs) 7

Democrats are gearing up to steal the AK Senate election. They are looking at a bunch of "new ballots" to be counted. Those can be significant in a low population State election. AK Republicans need to insure they have a watchdog for this and demand a chain of custody for every "new" vote counted.

The reason we all suspected of Dems cut off Mary Landrieu's funds. Internal polling shows her down by 16 points.

A drunk driver strikes a pedestrian on the side of the road and drives 1.5 miles with the 61 year old man lodged in his windshield before cops stop him. I don't know about NJ but in SC he could do some serious hard time for this in a felony DUI case. And if the man dies in SC he would probably go for vehicular homicide which can get you 25 years.

And speaking of irony how about this 2008 statement from Obama.
I take the Constitution very seriously, he told a Pennsylvania town hall in 2008. The biggest problems that we're facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the Executive Branch and not go through Congress at all, and that's what I intend to reverse when I'm President of the United States of America. Reverse???? Hell everything he does is accelerating it and not just minor shit either. If A Republican did this that video would be play 24/7 on news shows for 6 months. http://is.gd/ttwu5X Posted by: Vic at November 14, 2014 06:54 AM (u9gzs) 18
Yes, we need to spend millions on improving moral in the military.
The Army is moving to discharge a decorated combat pilot who intervened to stop two lesbian officers from showing what he considered inappropriate affection on the dance floor during a full-dress formal ball at Fort Drum, New York, in 2012. They were kissing on the dance floor at a formal ball. This isn't allowed between a man and woman in the military so why is it not only permitted between two women, but the officer who tried to stop it is prosecuted instead? I'll let you guess. http://is.gd/VuQ05P Posted by: Vic at November 14, 2014 06:54 AM (u9gzs) 19
Some may have missed this yesterday. Another reason why there should never be a requirement for a permit to own a gun. If this is allowed to continue it will get worse. And you could not pay me to move back to NY. It has gone full retard, even in upstate.

Any guidance on how to get the pilot light to stay lit once we release the red button? Apparently all our expertise graduated last spring. If it's a thermocouple fail, what's the fair price for replacement parts and labor? The landlord reimburses, but our rent stays low because we manage these minor crises ourselves and don't overspend. In both cases, the part was available in a blister-pack at a big box store. The first time I had to do it before everything was online. JJ,
As respecters of rule of law, we do what's open to us starting tomorrow leading up to 2016: finding or formung grassroots venues where we increase pressure through assemblies, max uae of social media to let pols know we'rw serious,to inform LIVs there's a better way. With regards to LIVs, a constant, systematic flow of short info bits tied to real life is key. All this means more work for those with regular jobs but extraordinary times call for extraordinary effort. Lots of people seem quick to say they'll fight tyranny with arms, kinetic action. What about doing something more mundane, hold a village or townhall, man a booth, organize a group of friends to help another grassroots org, etc. Just some 2cents of thoughts. Seems to me you were one of that small, abused crowd, too. Absent public willingness to adopt the direct approach to defanging Choom Boy, the only thing I can think of is a campaign to get Our Betters in the so-called conservative media to man up -- for once -- and start putting pressure on the traitors and assorted felons who are currently runnin' wild and free. D.C. won't pay any attention to us. But they might pay attention if every "opinion leader" who claims to be on our side -- from Rash Fatblob on down to the merest blogger -- were to stop weasel-wording it and tell them that we will not accept law-breaking from the government. Perhaps if the Big Names called for -- and led -- a campaign of civil resistance to corruption, we might get the attention of the fatcats in D.C. The first step is to try to convince the eunuchs that they, like everyone else, have to act on their professed beliefs and actually represent the opposition. For once. Or perhaps not. This kinda looks like the Zimmerman case redux. The local constabularies could tamp down some of that by arresting those who put out a bounty on the officer and his family since that's a state and federal felony. Weakness invites aggression. I dial to "pilot," depress the red button to open gas flow, ignite with a long-nozzled bbq lighter and hold the red button down for one, two, three minutes. In theory, the blue flame should stay lit once the red button is released, but it immediately flames out. The red button is an interlock against dialing up from "pilot" to "on."
My deduction is either outright fail of thermocouple, or it's somehow bent to not be collecting its rightful dose of heat. The fact that I get a pilot lit at all would rule out clogged nozzles or inhibitor, am i right? Posted by: Little Miss Spellcheck at November 14, 2014 08:00 AM (z899H) 152

This is something the civil rights marchers found out: you have to keep at it, and you need people who stand up at the head of the crowd and make the message loud and clear. I'm not good at this. There's not a lot that "society" can do to fix that.
A society that valued freedom, individuality and common sense could do quite a bit, IMHO. I recall some story about a tree growing the way the twig is bent... Getting domestic enemies like Little Billy Ayers out of education would be a great start. How he's allowed to walk around unmolested is a mystery to me. Appeals court says AZ can't ask for proof of citizenship for voting SCOTUS says states MUST pay to educate illegals SCOAMF would love to send natl guard to stop AZ from deporting illegals That won't happen This illegal amnesty will create a backlash and as my congressman Schweikert said yesterday, it will kill amnesty from congress for years All so SCOAMF can say FU to the American people This too shall pass, hopefully quickly Posted by: ginaswo at November 14, 2014 08:31 AM (+X1qa) 243

Part of what Gruber was bragging about is the Cadillac tax on the plans which makes the premiums taxable income Not sure on the individual plan side but they likely limited/ended the deduction to fxck those people too Seems to be their raison dtre Posted by: ginaswo at November 14, 2014 08:26 AM (+X1qa) The deduction for healthcare costs has been disappearing since Clinton was in office. IIANM this latest crap raised the floor to 10%. I have only qualified for it one year and my wife has had cancer twice and I have had a heart attack and cancer. As for the so-called Cadillac plan it was not indexed to inflation either (which they hide anyway). So at the rate everyone's premiums are going up everybody except the FSA will have a Cadillac plan in a few years. , Posted by: Vic at November 14, 2014 08:32 AM (u9gzs) 246

PTSD the clinical diagnosis that would stand up to a WW2 med board or "PTSD" as in "yeah I went to war and the newsies say I am a timebomb or a blubbering 'tard now"? The real thing is best measured in %s and by combat immersion more than confirmed diagnoses... Wife got her mild case from being rocketed without reciprocity in Iraq and 'ghani once we started firing back in both her nerves settled. I figure every service member has a cup and that cup gets filled. The cups are different sizes, and can be bled dry over time.... but there's a reason the WW1, WW2, and Korea-Nam era VFWs were well lubricated affairs. In some ways this generation is lucky b/c the force has access to some other stress reducers the veterans of yesteryear were not culturally inclined to avail themselves of. The thought occurs that if and when riots break out in Ferguson, they will be riots of the Radical Left. The Black Panthers, Occupy, the SJWs, etc. These groups are here to see to it that things burn, and it will be worth documenting and pointing out to the LiVs who the instigators of violence are.

PTSD is, at least according to the MSM, endemic. Every returning soldier is a bubbling cauldron of fear, anger and suppressed violence.
Do you have any idea what the real numbers are? Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at November 14, 2014 08:50 AM (Zu3d9) After a quick phone call to the DC VA, and one of their PTSD post-docs....Dr. Bannion....the stats are about 30% of ALL combat veterans have some form of PTSD from very mild to very severe. The "very severe" is estimated at less than 1% of that population. OIF-OEF vets PTSD rate is about 10-18%, and that is attributed to better front line care in these conflicts. As respecters of rule of law, we do what's open to us starting tomorrow
leading up to 2016: finding or formung grassroots venues where we increase pressure through assemblies, max uae of social media to let pols know we'rw serious,to inform LIVs there's a better way. Those are wonderful suggestions. If what we had was a headache that sort of aspirin would indeed be a proper response. In fact if this were something like appendicitis the surgery of the last election would have been an appropriate and adequate response. Sadly we have a combination of cancer and gangrene. The "impeachment is off the table" crowd is telling us there will be no surgery - because that would be risky and icky and the people who hate us - no matter what - might hate us and call us names. The Radiation treatment of nuking DC isn't going to happen and I equally doubt the chemo of gassing the city will occur - unless the Jihadis do either... Re: PTSD and Vets.
I was reading the VFW magazine this morning. PTSD disabilities are surging in numbers. Of course, buried in the story was the part where (To Paraphrase) All a Vet needs to do is verbalize a fear of attack, when there is no danger of attack, and BOOM, up to $3,000.00 per month in disability income. And they pointed out that under recent VA guidelines, no formal documentation, nor formal diagnosis is required to qualify. On the downside, I could see the government building a case that any Vet drawing disability for PTSD will be automatically ineligible to own firearms, due to a pre-existing mental condition causing them to perceive danger, when in fact, none exists. When I retired, the big thing was to declare Sleep Apnea on your medical paperwork. Guaranteed 60% disability. I didn't claim it. Didn't have it. Not trying to downplay true PTSD sufferers. Morning, all! What fresh hell awaits us today?
This made me laugh and laugh and laugh. Leaked memos from Wendy Davis consultants warned of major problems Breitbart: http://tinyurl.com/mxjydcn [...] The memos, written by Prism Communications consultants Peter Cari and Maura Dougherty to Davis campaign manager Karin Johanson, were published by the Texas Tribune on Wednesday. Prism Communications had a long history with Davis before her gubernatorial campaign, helping her with her State Senate races in her Republican-leaning swing district. The first memo, dated January 6, 2014, describes Cari and Dougherty's "concerns about the direction in which the campaign seems to be moving," describing how the "campaign has lurched to the left" under the guidance of out-of-state Obama campaign operatives who were ignoring the advice from the advisers who had helped steer Davis to victories in a swing district in conservative Texas. "[W]e need to be selling something very different from what works for Democrats in other states," the memo warns. "There is not a model where a candidate who appears this liberal and culturally out of touch gets elected anywhere in the South -- much less in Texas -- without some inoculation...We are worried that no one handling the messaging for the campaign has the natural instinct to find ways to center the message." The memo asks if there had been "a decision to run Wendy not as a moderate Texan who could plausibly beat Greg Abbott, but rather as a national Democrat, appealing to liberal donors in the mistaken belief that there is a hidden liberal base in Texas that will turn out to vote if they have a liberal candidate to support." Phoenix Girl,
I wash about 3-4 loads a week. I did two last night because dryer is in back hall & it's very cold in there. I wasted money putting in new steel door that leads to porch because it doesn't seem any warmer in there. Maybe it is, it was 36 & I wasn't wearing sweatshirt jacket & that was before I vacuumed & cleaned & conditioned leather chair, stool & couch. This is the problem with any "Disability Insurance." Or, for that matter, any form of insurance. In any group of people, you'll have N% who are willing to make fraudulent claims. And they never concern themselves with what those fraudulent claims will do to future claims, or what it does to those who really suffer from whatever they're pretending. Unfortunately, short of "change Human Nature," I don't know how you address that problem in a way that doesn't royally screw over people who really do need that insurance. the overwhelming reason poor people are poor is that they consistently make bad choices.
Eh. My HS classmates raising their bastard grandkids off our tax dollars get to sit at home and bake cookies and watch TV and post about it on Facebook all day today. But thanks to the bad choices I've consistently made over the years, I had to put on pants and run a gauntlet of suicidal motorists to sit at a desk in an open office full of men screaming at each other and flying helicopter drones over my head...and my document due today isn't even started because I can't do structural coverage without test results and I can't run tests for results until someone reviews the tests and all the assholes who are supposed to be doing reviews are "too busy" watching videos on their fucking phones. Thanks for the prayers, folks who were offering up prayers for my meeting at the school with the Child Study Team-it went better than expected. I did have a laugh because his Case Manager said that she went up to small group speech class and looked in the window and my son was smiling and leaning to his side with his head on his hand and appeared to be flirting with a cute little red haired girl in the class. And she laughed and said "And when he saw me his face fell and her got very serious." Since I have never seen my son flirt before I think that's great. And apparently he's making some other very boy boy on the autism spectrum laugh in their group meetings.

Mr. Obama announced that the U.S. would move much faster in cutting pollution, with a goal to reduce emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent by 2025, compared with 2005 levels. Earlier in his presidency, he set a goal to cut emissions by 17 percent by 2020.
Xi, whose country's emissions are still growing as it builds new coal plants, didn't commit to cut emissions by a specific amount. Rather, he set a target for China's emissions to peak by 2030, or earlier if possible. He also pledged to increase the share of energy that China will derive from sources other than fossil fuels. ... this all sounds like "apples and oranges." At this point, China doesn't even meet the standards of the US Clean Air Act of 1963. To say that their immediate actions on the environment as having anything to do with "Climate Change" would be roughly equivalent to saying that a child molester is admitting guilt by continuing to pay for internet porn sites. China is in it's infancy, in terms of dealing with "clean air." They have a along way to go before they even get beyond the obviously offensive particulates and aerosols. Dealing with invisible and olfactory-challenged gases, such as CO2, is a long way off. Most Chinese view the "Climate Change" meme as a Western plot to keep them backward.
