Sharyl Attkisson talks to Howard Kurtz about CBS' intentional embargo of Obama's Benghazi quote in order to assist his reelection effort.

Neanderthal DNA may be responsible for high-level mathematical thinking; and given humanity's tendency to select away from Neanderthal traits (in preference of Cro-Magnon traits), we may be in for an Idiocracy-like future.

So this DC "Suicide Squad" movie is really happening.

No seriously it's really happening.

No really, It's happenin', Misteh J!

That "Truthy" study funded by the US Government seems to have succeeded chiefly in getting conservative accounts banned from Twitter.

Putin plans to officially designate the the US and NATO as "adversaries" in a soon-to-be-released reboot of its military doctrine.

They said that people wouldn't be forced to host gay weddings in their homes. They, get this, lied.

A drug supposedly can restore the "plastic" quality of a young child's brain to an older person's brain, thus permitting the high-speed learning children are capable of.

The downside: the lock-up of the brain (as it ages) also helps prevent the brain from forgetting learned skills. So this might be a trade-off: You can quickly learn new skills, but only if you let this drug unlock your brain so that previous memory can be written over.

20 Reporting For Duty What Newly Elected Senator Joni Ernst Did 2 Days After The Election Tells Us All About Her Character

Lt Col Joni Ernst has been juggling her civilian and military lives since joining the National Guard in 1993. She is on duty every week, according to her husband Gail, who told National Review

Not many folks know she is in uniform on Thursday and Friday. She does it without fanfare.

Joni Ernst speaks for many Americans who think service, honor, and country should be top priority for every single U.S. elected official. She not only talks about it, shes doing it.

The wedding involves a sacrament, whereas the reception is just a party. It's like your parents allowing your sister to bring her boyfriend over for dinner, but they can't stay the night in the same bedroom.

As for extremism, it seems like the extreme for gay men is towards Castro street, while for lesbians it's flannel and Subarus. Both want to attack straight society because they are unhappy with themselves.

Pretty simple: a reception is simply a party. It has no religious implications. A wedding ceremony generally has a religious component to it. So devout Christians might see a purportedly "religious" gay wedding as blasphemous, whereas the party afterward is just a party.

69 Twitter consoring incorrect views?

This is the problem with reducing your entire online impact to a few closed and privately held platforms that could censor you and thus separate you from others.

I know people who only use Facebook and don't even use e-mail anymore.

This is why we should support platforms with open standards that anyone could use.

I may be a heavy twitter user, but I don't limit myself to that and prefer stuff like the HQ or other blog platforms that can be independently hostted, or e-mail, or IRC, &c.

Perry doesn't need to do anything. They think they're embarrassing him. They're embarrassing themselves. People apparently were booing the questions. If folks at Dartmouth didn't think it was funny, I can guarantee you that some normal person in Ohio isn't going to find it in the least bit amusing.

107 I'm thinking along the lines of Perry having questioned the value of a Dartmouth education, given the nature of the question proffered?

Don't have to engage in a direct give & take, but he could have addressed that cut to the audience, and probably have won a laugh from them in the process.

Agreed with the observation that the crowd really didn't like those bully-girls, at all.

Now , I can call my wife old, her friends may call her old...you, hipster douchbag clerk, are not allowed to call my wife old in my presence.

So, I calmly looked at him and daid " I know that....I hadn't fucked your Mom yet.".

He did not look amused.

*I simply cannot fathom why.*

In Oregon, Christian bakers who refused to sell a wedding cake to two lesbians face hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

In Washington state, an elderly Christian florist could face hefty fines after she refused to provide wedding flowers to two gay men.

A Christian Colorado baker is appealing a judge's decision ordering him to start baking wedding cakes for homosexuals and to provide his staff with sensitivity training after he refused to create a wedding cake for two gay guys.

The US Supreme Court this year declined to hear the case of a Christian photographer from New Mexico who claimed that refusing to shoot the commitment ceremony of two lesbians was an expression not only of her constitutional right to religious freedom it was protected by her First Amendment right to free speech. New Mexico's Supreme Court and the state's Human Rights Commission have decreed that her refusal to shoot equaled unlawful discrimination.

Yeah why would anyone have a problem with homosexuals?

131 You don't need a chemical to do this. Well, a chemical(s) you don't natively produce. I would not recommend this, however. You don't just lose skills. You lose life memories, and... like living in one of those partial amnesiac dystopian movies... it's... not fun. Your mind will pick what to override/forget. What it prefers to forget is bad/hard things. The thing is, you have memories up to, but not including, what and how. You don't know if you are a monster. Oh, and hard memories are stored in two places of the brain (at least, probably minor/partial backups elsewhere). One is the usual chemical memory, the other is reflexive memory. Don't tinker with memory, boys and girls.

Let me put to rest, some things, for those who have had this happen. You ARE a monster, but perhaps not as bad of one as your partial memories might have lead you to believe. We are all monsters, prey on the living (cows and grain are, or were, living mind you), kill to survive, and sometimes do very wrong things. In certain givens, there are no good ways to proceed. When lost in the dark, seek light.
