Washington DC Handgun Carry Ban Struck Down

From the opinion:

In light of Heller, McDonald, and their progeny, there is no longer any basis on which this Court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny. Therefore, the Court finds that the District of Columbia’s complete ban on the carrying of handguns in public is unconstitutional.

More here. Congratulations to Alan Gura and the plaintiffs.

Furthermore, this injunction prohibits the District from completely banning the carrying of handguns in public for self-defense by otherwise qualified non-residents based solely on the fact that they are not residents of the District.

The draft Kerry passed to Israel on Friday shocked the cabinet ministers not only because it was the opposite of what Kerry told them less than 24 hours earlier, but mostly because it might as well have been penned by Khaled Meshal. It was everything Hamas could have hoped for.

The document recognized Hamas' position in the Gaza Strip, promised the organization billions in donation funds and demanded no dismantling of rockets, tunnels or other heavy weaponry at Hamas disposal. The document placed Israel and Hamas on the same level, as if the first is not a primary U.S. ally and as if the second isn't a terror group which overtook part of the Palestinian Authority in a military coup and fired thousands of rockets at Israel.

some are actual RPGs with live action...

some are just free for alls....

There was a theatrical fencing and weaponcraft school up in Shreveport that were fuel still 89 cents a gallon I'd have been thrilled to go to when we lived at Polk...

the guy was not some dork just swinging he was an artist like peak Fairbanks or Flynn....

and a lot of folk well aren't....

The "lightning bolt" school looks like D&Ders in costume. The Ragnarok attendees create costumes and padded battle gear and thump on one another using a set of rules as to what constitutes a hit, a wound, etc.

182 Stace,

I forget the guy's name and I have the program but not with me. Was supposed to have advised every Texas governor since Preston Smith

186 did she have big boobs? in Hell Lay, all the "meteorologists" have giant after-market ta-ta's.

Well, gravitatas are important on TV, if you want to be taken seriously.

187 Texas' June was nice, but he's talking about "global" temps however they're calculated. And that's been in the MSM all over.

188 "I think there are two different threads of the LARPing going on."

I've lost track myself.

Ok that's not the guy I had in mind. It might be the state meteorologist, who IIRC has a pretty good rep.

Posted by: stace at July 26, 2014 07:35 PM (9PXzx)

190 damn you all, c'mon, let's go over to the new thread . . . it has a fresh breezy scent.

Posted by: Peaches at July 26, 2014 07:35 PM (8lmkt)

191 *Whistle*

LARP'ing has been moved the next thread over.

She isn't a meteorologist, but I remember KTLA's Lauren Sanchez had massive boobehs

She had a kid and got fat so it wasn't as noticeable by the time I left town

Now, when it comes to meteorologists and boobs, no one beats Maria Molina, and I will go to my grave believing they're real and they're spectacular

193 Someone said that if lefties really believed that global warming was real, property values in Malibu, South Beach, the Hamptons, and Nantucket would be nosediving.

They are not

194 If only we were dealing with "Peak Bullshit."

And it only gets better from here.

195 >srsly, a derringer? that's so embarrassing . . .

The last derringer I saw took either a .410 shotgun shell (loaded with 000 buck) or a .45 ACP round (same barrel could handle either).

Might not look too intimidating, but it would definitely put a hurtin' on someone's ass at point-blank range.

Bet your hand was scared of it, though.

197 I'd like to be happy but the legislature in Massachusetts is about to rape legal gun owners with new asinine legislation at the 11th hour here at the end of session. And to top it off my police chief just declared no one in the city "needs" a gun. So imagine my already heavily restricted government issued permission slip is about to get watered down even further.

198 Not to worry. Like California, they'll try to get creative in getting around this ban prohibition. Attempting to regulate ammunition comes immediately to mind.
