Obama's Collapse in Michigan Continues, and Link to Romney Moneybomb

In poll #6 confirming this, NBC/Marist (yes, those guys) join the fray.
In their February poll, Obama was cruising along with a 51-33 lead over Mitt.

Fast-forward a few months, and the President is enjoying, if you want to go with that, a 47-43 edge. Four points now. A 14-point collapse in four months. Amongst registered voters. By a firmed pegged by Nate Silver of Five Thirty Eight as leaning Democratic.

I wonder how they'd feel knowing their President just levied a $1.7 trillion tax on them...hint hint, ad team.

Again, Go Big. The SC ruling today should just push us more.
Donate to the Romney Money Bomb HERE.

Serious question:
Isn't the FICA deduction specifically a "contribution," NOT a tax, in order to allow for those exemptions such as the Amish? My point is that since Obamacare has been legally designated a tax, how any ANY religion be exempted from it? Isn't that a First Amendment violation?

I just had lunch with a friend of mine who's a small business guy and has been trying hold on to his business in this crappy economy.

He's taken a personal hit in income trying to keep as many of his employees as possible.

More in sadness than anger, he now plans to let more people go to be able to handle the new costs/taxes coming in 2013.

He can't be the only one, whether the SC planned it or not, just watch- unemployment will be up and the economy down.

Hopefully, idiots who voted for Obama last time will notice and vote against him or stay home.

75 Good comment from IOTW:

AbigailAdams
June 28th, 2012

Okay. Take a deep breath.

The only sensible thing to do is to get your butts off that sofa,
stool, chair, or whereever the hell you’re commenting from, go to your
local Tea Party website (or look it up from the Tea Party Patriots or TP
website of choice) and sign up!

There are several comments here, (throat-clearing sound) from people
who are referring to the TP as “them”, “they”. If you are Taxed Enough
Already (and we ALL are), and you are not a card-carrying member of the
TP, you are MIA. Today marks the official beginning of the heavy
lifting. You can no longer sit on your butts and expect somebody else
to do your share of the heavy lifting.

Listen up: If you’re fine with paying $695./year in 2016 and upwards
of $1,000. thereafter because you couldn’t bring yourself to make a
stand with the only group who has your back today; if you could’t make
the time between making witty remarks on IOTW and feeling bold for
engaging a progtard on a faceless blog to call your reps, go to a TP
meeting or send $5. to a conservative freedom fighter, then you’re not
serious about pushing this president, his admin and their ideology off a
cliff.

We will not win in November unless YOU, not BFH or Boobie or MJA or
someone else commenting here does YOUR job. (But of course BFH, Boobie
and MJA needs to do their job, too). Bloggers have made a big
difference, but it’s not going to be enough. Your physical presence at a
TP meeting, at a rally, and doing the actual work of TP members is what
it’s going to take. Washington did not have a virtual army at Valley
Forge!

A lot of people are now saying, “Well, this will sure fire up the
TP!” Guess what? Unless you secretly agree with today’s ruling and
unless you erroneously think someone else is going to save your butts,
YOU, WE, have been officially drafted to the only movement that now
stands between the death spiral of Socialism and the real death of
America, this president, this Senate and the worldwide forces who
believe this world is better off without the greatest gift, outside of
Jesus, that God gave the modern world.

For all who haven’t experienced the sobering honor of serving your
country in uniform, now’s your chance. We’ve only got five months
before the vote. Make no mistake — this is a war for the future of the
United States of America. It’s not an abstraction or a war one could
argue the merits of. It’s not a war being fought in some far-flung
corner of the globe. It’s right here. It’s right now.

You know the drill:

“These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the
sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his
country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of
man and woman.”

Raise your right hand, get your butt off that chair! You’re in the Tea Party now!

Bite down on this, son. I know.

Great decision. Commerce Clause was crap, it's a tax. Run on that and choke on it.
Roberts is going to take a lot of flack from the right, but I think he just did us all a huge favor. He avoided a Leftist turnout bonanza by parrying criticism of a politicized court.

I believe so.

And as much as we may be upset right now, I have a feeling that - as a commenter above noted - Roberts just rolled a Trojan horse into the middle of the Democrats' camp and left it there for them to discover.

Every Democrat who voted for this is now on record as having voted for the largest tax increase in American history.

By saying that this is a tax, Congress can now repeal it with 51 votes instead of 60 - do you think anyone in Congress wants to be the one to vote to increase Americans' taxes?

Obama lied.
Obama lied.
Obama lied.

We can hang this around his neck like a dead albatross.

88 I think this plays into romney's hands. At this point, it's purely an economic issue. All Romney has done is concentrate on the economy. They've goaded him, they've tried to draw him into other issues. They've tried to have him issue a road map of what he's going to do so the President can rubber stamp it and agree and he's steadfastly concentrated on the economy and creating jobs and bringing us back from the cliff.

The dems don't know how to fight this now, they've been thrown. I'm hearing from my friends that the media did a horrendous job covering this, that they reported it was overturned initially cause maybe that's what they thought was coming and that's what they wrote so they could push the button, so they pushed the button and reported it and were wrong. Steve Abrams apparently was thrown on air, saying "wait, this is a lot, I have to read through this". They were prepared to have it go down, romney's always been prepared for it to be sustained. He's in the stronger position right now.

No we won't. There isn't a conservative alive that is going to do that.

We're fucked. Once the government has a power, it never, ever goes away. This is the new norm. The left won in destroying the greatest society ever seen. It's all down hill from here. The debt will never be below $17 trillion ever again and we will be overrun by China, Russia and all their fun little allies.

115 Once the government has a power, it never, ever goes away.

This is not 100%. A dedicated effort can roll back government power. Look at what the NRA’s been able to do against gun control, for instance. The ugly gun ban was actually allowed to expire, concealed carry has been restored in most states, and there are probably others I’m forgetting.

A dedicated effort can change this, too.

146 Just trying to find the silver lining here...

If Obamacare was overturned, wouldn't that lead to a lot of businesses immediately starting to hire again? And wouldn't Obama start taking credit for that turnaround?

Now the dems have to run on this tax increase. They may be celebrating now, but in the long run this isn't going to help their cause. I think there is hope, maybe more than we think right now.

What seems clear to me is that in the next few years we need several new constitutional amendments, including a balanced budget amendment and an amendment that curtails the commerce clause. I think we could get the country on board with those, if we work hard to educate them.

Time to go back to Plan A - Win majorities and and pound repeal and revision down the liberal squeakhole sideways, wrapped with sandpaper and coated with ghost pepper sauce.
