Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | MSNBC Hackette: You Will Agree With My Premise That Medical Marijuana and Gay Marriage Are Hugely Important Issues Or I Will Cut Off Your Mike"You're kind of in my house now." She also expresses her view that by refusing to agree with her premise that that local reporter's questions about medical marijuana (which I just linked below) were "important" to that state's voters, @tpcarney was "demeaning" her and "insulting [her] network." This clip is illuminating, somewhat. After Carney's kicked off due to his refusal to play the left's Reindeer Games, a Democratic strategist opines it's a "red herring" that we must talk about the GDP and jobs, and argues that George Bush won in 2004 by talking about "gay marriage, gay marriage all day long." Thus, he argues, turnabout is fair play. If you were wondering whether that Examiner piece below -- that Obama and the Democrats are going to run solely on cultural issues, and attempt to squash any mention of the economy -- those doubts may now be safely laid to rest. What elephant in the room? I don't see an elephant. Are you sure you mean this room? There is no elephant in the room. What are you talking about? Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

My recollection is that the Dems and the Media wish-cast every goddamn scenario they could think of - - Bush will jigger the gas prices by releasing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in June .. no, in July ... no, in September. - Bush will play politics in Iraq by reducing troops ... no, he won't --- okay well, he'll do something political - Bush will ... and so forth. Bush, to his credit, said about the Iraq war policy "Screw the politics - I'm going to do what I think is right and face any consequences." so no troop withdrawals, et cetera. ... Mother's Day Weekend
Let the candidates laud their mothers. Romney's mom was an extremely talented, educated and strong willed independent professional woman who CHOSE to marry, stay married, have children and raise her children, succeeding in homemaking before seeking to become a Senator, a progressive for abortion rights (but not tax funded?). Did Gore campaign for Gays against Bush? No. Did John Kerry "reporting for duty" campaign for Gays against Bush? No. Did Obama '08 campaign for gays? No. That's when he flip-flopped from pro-gay to pro-hetero marriage. So no surprise in '12 he flop-flips pro-gay marriage. Sick parents. What do you think is going to happen in early June when Obama is polling publicly about 8 points behind, while the internal polls will show him down 12? Factor in that Hillary hits the mid-60’s in favorability. Eject! Eject! Eject! Look for Obama to bail out with his campaign stash. The dem’s will hope that Hillary will go on to another “historic” election and save some of the carnage they’re in for downticket. The first Gallup poll since President Obama announced his support of same-sex marriage shows 60 percent of voters say they won't be swayed by this "evolution." Twice as many say it makes them less likely to vote for Obama than more likely, however.
Only among Democrats is their a significant net advantage to Obama from embracing gay marriage, suggesting little backlash from black voters and validating the idea that this will help energize his base. Only 11 percent of independents say Obama's change in position makes them more likely to vote for him; 23 percent say it makes them less likely. Since when does the Right bring up any of these issues? These are the issues that the Right is genuinely conservative about, meaning the Right wants to maintain the status quo. If you want things to stay the way they are you don't go around making a stink about it, but you do react when other people want to change the status quo. This notion on the Left that the Right are the instigators in the culture wars is not only wrong, it's plainly ignorant. Posted by: runninrebel at May 11, 2012 05:59 PM (N/1Dm) 349

How much more obviously can they possibly show they're coordinating with the Obama administration? This is just hilarious.
Heck, right after the Dog-Eating Retard started occupying the White House it came out that Stephanopopoulous was holding morning meetings with the White House. From NewsBusters in 2009: Back on January 29, we discussed the daily strategy phone call engineered by Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for friendly TV commentators and "reporters." Politico reported that Emanuel has a daily phone conference call with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, and CNN's James Carville and Paul Begala. With Rush Limbaugh's raucous CPAC address, as he termed it his "first address to the nation," we can see at least one example of what is likely an attack strategy resulting from the Emanuel phone session with a rush to bash Rush the day after the appearance. As soon as the sun rose on the day after Limbaugh's CPAC appearance, three of the four of the phone call participants attacked Limbaugh with the same talking points. It seems obvious that they coordinated their attack together in the Obama secret strategy session. It is amazing that a president's staff can have such power over major media figures without a peep being heard from those that only months ago bashed former presidents over a perceived undue, even "dangerous," control of the media. The thing is, they can't run on gay marriage.
They can use it for precious days where the headlines aren't about the economy, but they can't actually run on it. No one is going to elect a 'look, squirrels!!!' platform, and gay marriage loses elections. Hell, Prop 8 was in California! This is a loser for the dems in one of their most reliable states. Blue collar rust belt is the key to this election. I bregrudgingly admit Romney is tailored kinda great for that demographic, which Michigan roots, executive experience, and the aura of financial sense. But add in 'Obama's focused on gay marriage' and that sweetens the deal for voting GOP for a lot of these people. Not only does it help show Obama is way off the mark on the recession, but ,most of these people think gay marriage is wrong. I think they hope Romney takes the bait, realizing there's ground to gain on gay marriage, because with Santorum that led to many saying he's not focused on the right issue (I think this attack was unfair to Rick, but whatever).
