Well unless you enjoy getting urinating in public citations. Remember that you are either the master of your bladder or its slave. But if you truly learn these techniques and the mental disciplines behind them, you'll be able to whizz anytime, anywhere no matter how many opponents you face. But like magic the key is always misdirection - while they're busy watching your middle finger, you're busy adding their car to your own territory. Now get off my freshly-marked lawn.Importing Poverty Fifty-seven percent of households headed by an immigrant (legal and illegal) with children (under 18 ) used at least one welfare program, compared to 39 percent for native households with children (which is alarmingly high in itself). The highest rates are for families headed by an immigrant from the Dominican Republic (82 percent using welfare) and Mexico and Guatemala (75 percent). And if the poor immigrants congregate, you end up with a condensed form of poverty. The Fresno county city of San Joaquin has a higher share of children under 18 than any other California city, 41 percent compared to the state average of 25 percent. Orange Cove has the second-highest share of children. Both cities are over 95 percent Hispanic, and both have per capita incomes lower than the per capita income of Mexico, which was $10,000 in 2009, or $14,000 at purchasing power parity.Poorer than Mexico! According to her new book, "Bossypants": The comedian and actress writes in her new book “Bossypants” that the impression did not bring positive attention to the show, which also stars Alec Baldwin and Tracy Morgan, but instead may have polarized audiences. “Some may argue that exploiting Governor Palin and her family helped bring attention to my low-rated TV show,” an excerpt of the book posted on USA Today reads. “I am proud to say you are wrong.Poor Tina - I don't know where she finds the strength to cash all those checks. Jerry Kroth and colleagues at the Santa Clara University investigated the dreams of 48 female graduate students and found that the conservative types are having these kinds of dreams: Dreams of FallingOf course they didn't report their findings for liberal women which I'm guessing would be pretty much the same. Except with more smugness and the conviction that they have special super meaningful dreams. Based on tweets Tennessee is the happiest state in the US and Germany is the happiest country. (thanks to CDR M) It's weird - 1968 was only a bit over 40 years ago yet from these commercials it feels like a completely different world. And you never hear that deep leisurely Voice of Authority narration anymore either. Myth #1: The crusades represented an unprovoked attack by Western Christians on the Muslim world. Nothing could be further from the truth, and even a cursory chronological review makes that clear. In a.d. 632, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Asia Minor, North Africa, Spain, France, Italy, and the islands of Sicily, Sardinia, and Corsica were all Christian territories. Inside the boundaries of the Roman Empire, which was still fully functional in the eastern Mediterranean, orthodox Christianity was the official, and overwhelmingly majority, religion. Outside those boundaries were other large Christian communities—not necessarily orthodox and Catholic, but still Christian. Most of the Christian population of Persia, for example, was Nestorian. Certainly there were many Christian communities in Arabia. By a.d. 732, a century later, Christians had lost Egypt, Palestine, Syria, North Africa, Spain, most of Asia Minor, and southern France. Italy and her associated islands were under threat, and the islands would come under Muslim rule in the next century. The Christian communities of Arabia were entirely destroyed in or shortly after 633, when Jews and Christians alike were expelled from the peninsula. Those in Persia were under severe pressure. Two-thirds of the formerly Roman Christian world was now ruled by Muslims.Well 'unprovoked' if you ignore the hundreds of years of consistent Islamic attacks against Christian countries before it. Actually it's a wonder that counter-attacks didn't happen sooner. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

I'm getting a bad feeling about the planned Superman reboot. Rumor is the big opponent for Supes is Metallo -- who in this incarnation isn't just a crook with a kryptonite-powered robot body (don't ask). No, he's even more villainous in the reboot. He's a kryptonite-powered cyborg made by . . . wait for it . . .
. . . THE MILITARY! Because audiences are just going to pack the theaters to watch Superman fighting against American soldiers! Again, I ask the question: is everyone in Hollywood fucking retarded? Or at least a working majority of them? How the FUCK does a story like that get greenlighted? Jeez, I could write a better Superman movie story right now. Here goes: Use the Parasite: he's an old Superman villain who drains power. If Supes fights him, he gets weaker while the Parasite gets stronger. Plus the Parasite absorbs knowledge so he knows Clark Kent is Superman! The villan strikes at him in his secret identity, has him on the ropes, and only the timely intervention of Superman's human friends -- Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, etc. -- saves him. You get some thematic juice from the concept of the Parasite as age/disease, it's Superman's human contacts which save him rather than his Kryptonian superpowers, you can explore the "world" quite a bit, and (most importantly) you don't turn an iconic American hero into another America-bashing piece of shit! Cool mil-tech. The first GPS guided 120 mm mortars have been delivered and fired in Afghanistan. It's from the APMI - Advanced Precision Mortar Initiative - which finally paid off.
Next step is 81mm. There's an ONR project called PUMA - Precision Urban Mortar Attack. PUMA is supposed to have both GPS and laser guidance. Hope is it transitions to acquisition around 2015. Seems like the big problem now is precisely targeting the bad guys in the first place. In the next 5-10 years practically everything will be precision guided, but if you can't get precise targeting it's kind of moot. Posted by: Clubber Lang at April 05, 2011 10:58 PM (QcFbt) 84

Will Smith's acting career has been on the rocks for a while now (at least IMHO), but why does he have to sacrifice his son's budding career* on the altar of a M. Night movie? Dear Lord! * The Kung-Fu, errr, The Karate Kid remake was surprisingly good. Posted by: Kratos (Ghost of Sparta) at April 05, 2011 11:03 PM (DZ/g1) 96

Oh, another Crusades tidbit. Why is there so little discussion about the proximate reason for the call?
The Byzantines had been holding off the onslaught of Islam for 400 years before the battle of Manzikert. The Seljuk Turks had "stolen" Byzantine lands and the Romans planned to "send them home". However, when the battle was met, the general of the rear guard of the Byzantine forces decided that "foreign adventures" weren't really so important. He let the Emperor be captured by the Turks and ran home to impeach, uh, dethrone the Emperor and claim the crown for himself. This lead to a generation of chaos that left Islam dangerously close to entering Europe and that devastation of Armenia and Anatolia - two of the most advanced parts of the world at the time. When the Byzantines finally got themselves back together they asked for help from their fellow Christians to reclaim their lands. Orthodox and Latin relations had not been good, but the Latin world turned out in massive numbers and didn't just return the recently lost lands - but conquered back some of those the Byzantines had lost generations before. This would make a heck of a movie, no? Posted by: 18-1 at April 05, 2011 11:04 PM (bgcml) 98

Successful People Who Never Existed
I could have been fine with a movie that utilized poison-emitting plants as a plot device. There are plenty of examples of plants using poisons to kill off competitors or threats. My main problem with how it was used in The Happening (if I don't mention the moonbat aspect of it), was that it was the stupidest poison for the plants to use to kill off humans. The plant poison was just an excuse to have the people kill themselves in ridiculous and horrific ways as to give the film an "R" rating so that it could be used as an advertising gimmick (Hey, The Happening is M. Night's first R-rated film!). Posted by: Kratos (Ghost of Sparta) at April 05, 2011 11:31 PM (DZ/g1) 144

I don't know if I'm right in the head. My dreams don't really follow standard form.
Nightmares especially. I'll have what should be a nightmare, but they always make me wake up laughing. The latest for instance: I'm on a beach with Adam Baldwin (no, really) and a couple random hotties. There is a killer on the loose following the Jason from Friday the 13th m/o. Hockey-mask, slash hack, slow walk catching the runners. Adam, me the extras I'll call Daphne Velma (it's my dream -- shut it!), are on the case to stop the murders. It follows the normal plot up to the point that I am being chased through a huge beach house by Jason. All the others are on a balcony overlooking a long lower level as I jab retreat. I've given pretty good by the time we reach the kitchen, and Jason is bleeding from the mouth, but of course, keeps coming. I knock the table down in front of him to slow him down, and then start rummaging through the fridge. Just as Jason gets behind me and is about to hack me w/ the machete, I wheel around armed with a plastic container of OJ, jam it into his bloody mouth, and squeeze. The citric acid makes him flail around and holler in pain of course, and as he falls back I push him through a large glass window and he falls onto a lower deck right onto a set of post-hole diggers, which naturally spread and prevent him from getting loose should he come to. We all go down and are looking at him. Obviously it's not over. It's a horror story, so eventually he must re-animate and come at us. As the rest of us stand there w/ our thumbs up our collected butts, Adam just grunts, and tilts Jason over the railing into a raging bonfire, ending the drama in his usual non-dramatic way. That guy always know how to get things done. Posted by: krakatoa at April 05, 2011 11:32 PM (IOva1) 148

A random thought, and though you won't believe it, I'm a longtime fan and semi-regular commenter here who's a dyed-in-the-wool conservative:
The gap between the rich and the "worker," for lack of a better term, is becoming immoral. I've been at a growing company for five years, and have never received a raise. Always been told it's because things are just too tight...hang in there. I just paid half my $700 rent on this shithole because I have to wait until Friday to pay the rest. My direct "supervisor," the COO of this 100-person company, just listed his house at $1.2 million. Don't tell me that I should just find another place to work - that's pollyannish fantasy. The market, for all my Randian wishes, doesn't work that way. I don't think I'm alone on this. I think most shareholders of most companies are at their cores disturbed by this 10-20 year trend. The rich know they have the rest of us by the balls, and they're unashamed about flaunting it. Obviously, we cannot eat the rich - without their disengaged chess games with other people's lives, none would survive. But by God, you sure can hate them. I had this nightmare where somehow we elected an incompetent college radical America-hater to the presidency just because he was black and people thought itwould be cool tovote for a black president. He helped the handicap by giving the vice-presidency to a retard. Once he was in office he imposed policies that destroyedany hope of a normal economic recovery, loaded up future generations with trillions in debt to hand out gobs of cash to his union pals, gave imporant jobs to pederastsd, commie-lovers and domestic terrorists, nationalized healthcare and most of the auto industry, insulted America's traditional allies and hugged and bowed to every thug dictator he could find. He grew the federal government to the point that it employed morepeople than any industry in the country. And he had this big-ass hairy, nasty, resentfulwife who loved to spend tons of tax money on extravagant vacations and who took it upon herself to tell us all what we should eat.He was an anti-Semite who blamed Israel for everything and treated the Israeli prime minister like a cabin boy. Then he got us into a Middle East war for absolutely no reason, then he went off to golf. He hated white people and appointed an Attorney General who decided who to prosecute or not prosecute based on their skin color. He shut down American oil production sogas prices skyrocketed, which he thought was a good thing. He spent tons of money on asinine ideas like green jobs and choo choo trains and he thought he had the power to control the level of the oceans. He considered himself history's greatest figure and he told us that over and over and over.
I hope I wake up soon. Posted by: Cicero at April 05, 2011 11:47 PM (pfqFp) 167

The "gap" between rich and poor now isn't nearly what it was a century ago. Before WWI you literally had some people in New York sleeping ten to a basement room with no plumbing, and you had Vanderbilts living in houses that put Versailles to shame. No offense to resident Cheese-head Conservatives, but fuck any state that isn't smart enough to not drown itself in a rainstorm. And that goes double for a country. I haven't even checked the election thread at all. I'm just wondering what Midwestern state I should flee to in order to escape Pat Fucking Quinn, and it looks like WI might be out if things go badly. It's too bad, I actually KNOW someone there. Unlike Indy or Missouri. You guys were speaking of dreams...I think the weirdest dreams I had were back to back dreams of first dating an ex girlfriend...and then the next night, plotting to have her killed.I had those earlier this year. Is it weird to both care deeply about someone and secretly want them to suffer terrible pain? She emails me regularly lately, and I just can't get myself to tell her to fuck off. I'm WAY too loyal. If someone was ever close to me...even if they treat me like shit later...I still can't turn my back on them. Oh well, I'll just be passive aggressive and ignore her. I've noticed weather reports getting worse lately, actually. I usually depend on weather.com, and it's been reporting storms hitting at 5 p.m...and they will hit seven or eight hours later. This is a big deal if you walk a lot, and you time your trips our so that you don't get drenched in torrential rain.
It's not a big deal, but it is if I'm picking something up that can be damaged. It used to be fairly accurate...but in the last few months, completely garbage. Even the temperatures have been off. Today it said a high of 53...at 2 pm it was 38 degrees. Uh guys? I don't feel we're going to reach that high. Back to *ugh* television weather reports. Unfortunately, infiltration doesn't work when they go outside the polling places, right? It seems like the shady stuff happens in the dark and at all levels, not just one or two here and there. We need to infiltrate the government heavier than the liberals do. That's going to be difficult. Who wants to deal with them all the time? Hey, Crazee - doin' good. TMI?
Not at all.. Wow a suburban, that's like a urban family school bus, with about the same gas milage. It is nice to drive sitting above most everyone else, much better view of what's going on and people tend to stay away from bigger vehicles. Good to see you throwing money Fords way too, they deserve it.. Posted by: beanervt at April 06, 2011 03:38 AM (KZLoo) 420
418 Hey, Miss80sBaby!
We just used that link in our newsletter this week! It's fascinating - not just that they had atherosclerosis, but that we have the technology to find that out. Wonder if it will change how doctors approach the issue in any way. Hello, soulpile! Current medical technology is fascinating. While I have some personal complaints about doctors, etc., I have to admit that the speed with which those involved in the field have discovered new medicines, been able to measure things of this nature, and provide care at a level unimaginable even 25yrs ago is amazing. This is just another example of that-- if it is indeed legitimate-- and I hope it yields fruitful results both in the realm of archaeology and (most importantly) for us. "Charles County, Maryland, circa 1936. 'Locust Hill, Port Tobacco

This is just another example of that-- if it is indeed legitimate-- and I hope it yields fruitful results both in the realm of archaeology and (most importantly) for us. Absolutely! There is so much we could learn from the past if people would get over the "known" and discover more. Use of technology should not be feared - it can help us study fragile items with less risk of harm - and add to our knowledge base with hopes of increasing our ability to treat diseases and conditions. You can never have too much information. Posted by: soulpile is... expendable at April 06, 2011 03:51 AM (afWhQ) 424

It was outfitted with a handicap chair for my dad last year, too. Also, good for hauling, trips to the hardware store, and the office uses it on occasion. It's too big for me, though - so that's why I went with the smaller vehicle. (this >< close to a Jeep...) I wouldn't consider anyone but Ford after GM became Government Motors. And supporting an American company's important. However, the most important was that Ford's one of the last in changing body styles to more european weenie styling. (Actually, it's why I had to get the Escape now - they're not going to make it any more and will replace it with the Kuga, according to the internet rumors... otherwise, I'd have waited another year.) Morning all 34.2° here.
Peeing in public. All I can say is be careful out there. Until a few years ago when they modified the law here you could be charged with a sex crime and go on the registry. Importing poverty- Considering that all the welfare programs that use federal funds are supposed to exclude illegals one wonders how this happens. So Tina Fey says that her bashing of Palin polarized audiences. Duh Tina, teh stupid, it is epic. Best earphones/headphone for jogging?? Those would be nice but I found out the hard way that my Bose noise cancelling ones are not good for the morning walk. Cars will come up behind you that you do not hear and scare the crap out of you. 1968 commercials I remember them well. I was surprised to see the cigarette commercial because I could swear they took them off the TV before then. The RCA TV ad reminded me of the halcyon days before I went into the Navy. I was working in a TV shop then after school and on weekends. We sold those RCA TVs, as well as Magnavox. That set in the commercial probably retailed for just over a $1,000 in those days which would be the equivalent of $6200 now. At the time we averaged at least one call on the RCAs during the first year and two or more after that until it was about 5 years old when it would be broke all the time. Hell, we couldn't keep the RCAs working on the floor. That is one area where the price has actually got better. And finally. myths of the crusades. Hell, you could say anything written today about religion in that period after the Roman world split is largely myth and lies. Most people in the modern world know absolutely nothing about true history. They get their knowledge from TV, movies, and comic books. That is, if they get any at all. Most are just apathetic and know nothing at all. And the WSJ which a lot of people think is "conservative". One of their reporters used the "extreme" word describing Ryan's budget proposal yesterday. So now they are getting their talking points from the Dems. They have never been conservative, but at least they were not a Dem mouthpiece like the rest of them. I guess even that has changed now. As parent of a toddler I've seen Fey in "Elmo: The Bookaneers" 5005 times, Baldwin in "Thomas Train: Magic Mountain" 7349 times, so I'm an expert.
Fey has sometalent but utterly expressionless, Rudner is better. Baldwinreminds me ofcorpulent Al 'Chakra' Gore. Posted by: gary gulrud at April 06, 2011 05:30 AM (/g2vP) 429
