Shocking Report from MSNBC: The Majority of "Migrants" Are Adult Men, Not Women and Children as Previous #FakeNews Reports Intimated

From John Sexton. You don't say.

MSNBC's Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle had an interesting segment today, though I'm not sure it sent the message they were hoping to get out about the caravan. Ruhle was speaking with MSNBC’s Gadi Schwartz who was doing a live shot from Tijuana in the heart of a makeshift migrant camp. "You're in that tent camp," Ruhle said, "Give us the profile of who is there mostly and what are they looking for?"

Before he could answer, Ruhle suggested that maybe the migrants didn't have information about how to cross the border and that's why they tried to storm across over the weekend. "There could be people yesterday who were running because they thought it was their only chance," she said.

Yes, that must be it.

'It’s very difficult because this has become such a polarizing issue," Schwartz replied. He added, "The truth is that the majority of the people that are part of this caravan, especially outside if we can make our way over there we'll show you, the majority of them are men."

Hmmm. That didn’t seem that complicated or polarizing. It seemed like a simple fact that people on the right have been pointing out for several weeks.

"From what we’ve seen, the majority are actually men and some of these men have not articulated that need for asylum. Instead, they have talked about going to the United States for a better life and to find work," Schwartz added.

More at the link, including video, and including Ali Veshi's ruminations about how using tear gas to disperse a riot might implicate the chemical weapons ban treaty, despite the fact that every police force in the world deploys tear gas against rioters or hostile mobs.

Sexton also had a good post earlier about the "asylum seekers," including video of the violent attempt to storm the border fence.

CNN went on to frame the incident as a "peaceful march" that "devolved into chaos."

...

I don't think our media is really this dumb. Rather, I think they’re being intentionally dishonest. The intent of this group was always to do exactly what it did, i.e. rush the border in numbers in hopes of overwhelming authorities. As Jazz pointed out earlier, that’s exactly what they did when they reached the southern border of Mexico. And in that case, it worked. Last week, DHS Secretary Nielsen warned that members of the migrant caravan were planning something just like this. The border was even shut down for several hours to prepare for it. Everyone except the media seems to have seen this coming.

Agent Scott immediately took issue with CNN’s framing of the incident. "I kind of challenge that this was a peaceful protest or that the majority of these people were claiming asylum," Scott said. He continued, "We ended up making about 42 arrests only 8 of those were females and there were only a few children involved. The vast majority of the people we’re dealing with are adult males."

He transcribes the video I posted earlier, where Real News CNN Firefighter John Berman repeatedly badgers the Agent into giving him the answer he's looking for, that these are legitimate asylum seekers, and the agent keeps responding with facts that suggest this isn't the case. But Berman knows the Narrative he wants, and he's a dog with a bone.

The video of the violence is definitely worth the click.

Just try not to click on anything else over there. AllahPundit's having one of his little spells, as usual.

To be fair, most of them will probably work. Most probably won't stay for ever. Some will have US citizen children through whom they will collect welfare.

But yes, they will come here, work in the 'grey economy' where everything is in cash, send a ton of money back home to set themselves up to retire like kings at a young age, take jobs from Americans, pay no taxes, drive / work / etc. without insurance, permits, licenses, or any of the paperwork Americans need to get to compete in those industries, and drive down wages.

On one hand, I can't really blame them -- it's a good gig for them. Come up to the US, work for 10 years, take everything they can, and make enough money to move back to central america and retire.

But as a US taxpayer and citizen, there is nothing in this situation that's in MY best interest.

>>>73 Do prostitutes pay taxes ? I mean , how do they even report income ??

I believe you're required to report income but NOT the source of income. I know there's a line for "occupation," but I think legally you can leave that blank, because the state does not have the power to compel you give testimony against yourself (that is, declare that your money comes from illegal means).

The state can require you to report income, but cannot require you to confess to a crime as part of the reporting requirements.

And mostly lefty bitches who would be right in line asking for righty men to get fired for badwrongspeak dont get a pass to cheat the law. All that does is embolden them. Maybe some will actually start rethinking their politics once they actually have to pay the taxes they love voting for so much. Mugged by reality, right?

110 While there's a small chance most of this will be defused by long over-due things like border closures and roughing up Mexico financially to prevent "caravans", it's a small chance.

And recall: before the "caravan"(s), the fake-asylum/kids as useful tools for illegals at the border, and the general bum-rush, were at crisis levels. For months. Ever since a brief pause after Trump's election.

There is not, and will not be, any effective border barrier added, for at least 3 years.

The elevated level of idiocy based on fake asylum will continue so long as Trump continues to violate his oath of office and permit the judiciary to usurp inarguable lawful executive prerogatives, and block his emergency changes.

165 Ruhle suggested that maybe the migrants didn't have information about how to cross the border and that's why they tried to storm across over the weekend. "There could be people yesterday who were running because they thought it was their only chance," she said.

They had the information that they wouldn't be permitted to cross the border. "How" doesn't come into it, since the "how" is obvious. Even if they weren't given the message that they wouldn't be permitted, the sight of soldiers should have clued them in. The fact that they tried to storm the border shows they knew that what they're doing was wrong.

If you think that doing a criminal act is your "only chance" at achieving your goal, that does not excuse the act or show any kind of ignorance that excuses it. Liberals say such stupid things it takes a minute to untie it.

175 >>Damn, why is he so obsessed with Manafort?

Good question. Manafort worked for Oleg Deripaska whom the FBI tried to recruit to build the phony Russian collusion scam. Deripaska was one of Putin's favorite oligarchs but sanctioned and prevented from doing business in the US for a number of infractions. Yet the Obama administration gave him several waivers to enter the US in the 2 years before the election and held out the possibility of restoring his access.

Deripaska was angry with Manafort and suing him for embezzlement.

There are still at least one unnamed "spy" that was embedded on the Trump campaign by the FBI.

Hard to know what Mueller is up to but there are still a lot of loose ends and Manafort is a big one.

That reminds me about a month ago I was just finishing up my nightly walk and heading up to the circle and I suddenly caught a huge whiff of weed. I smoked a lot of that stuff back in the day so I definitely know what it smells like. Then I heard something click, maybe a lighter, and I noticed the neighbor was standing outside with his garage door open. I didn't say anything and didn't even think of "reporting" it, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Heh.

I once cautioned a neighbor about smoking pot outside, because the smell really lingered on hot summer nights in AZ when there was no breeze. I darn near got high walking by his place. Anyway, I didn't care that he was smoking the stuff, just that it was quite obvious where the smell was coming from if someone did decide to complain.

However this latest chapter has been handled, tactically, to perfection (minus the DOJ part, as usual, by not demanding immediate resolution of the judiciary usurpation on asylum practices). The call-up of Army logistics/engineer support, the surging of CBP assets to particular sectors, the hardening of entry ports and select high-vulnerability spots in their vicinity.

274 >>Or at least that's what I've heard.

I've heard that story too. Seems awfully convenient.

I also read that Trump flushed him as soon as he found out the extent of his corruption.

What we do know is that Andrew McCabe approached his long time asset Oleg Deripaska and asked him to help frame Trump. Manafort was both Deripaska's former employee and a guy who owed him an assload of money and he was suing him. And Manafort had his own FISA warrant for years both before he was on the Trump campaign and immediately after he left. All of those are documented facts.

And we are still waiting to hear who the embedded spies on the Trump campaign were.

So what information was Mueller trying to pry out of Manafort after the plea deal? He has nothing on Trump so what was he investigating?

It's pretty well agreed Manafort was hired to nail down delegates for Trump. Just spitballing but Manafort's likely been singled out because he cut into the business of other scummy DC peeps dealing with other scummy foreigners. One of those freelancers was Mueller, if memory serves. Tony Podesta escaped the rack for obvious partisan reasons but he also was targeted because he fished in forbidden waters.

Nope. Podesta was shipped off to SDNY just like Michael Cohen because both of them were outside Mueller's mandate.

His case is still under investigation just like Cohen. The only difference is that the media likes to hyperventilate about Cohen and ignore Podesta.
