The Morning Report 5/17/17

sun.jpg

Good morning, kids. My blood is just about at a rolling boil. Fresh off their latest completely debunked fiction in the National Laughingstock about H.R. McMaster and the President revealing intel secrets to the Russians, The Walter Duranty Sales Flyer (aka NY Times) has the latest hot scoop that the President ordered martyr, villain, martyr, villain, martyr James Comey to stop the Michael Flynn investigation. Recall that in the first place, Flynn did nothing wrong (except misrepresent his actions to VP Pence which is why he was let go), and that perhaps PDT asked Comey to drop it because of that rather salient point. Trey Gowdy nailed it and is demanding to see this supposed bombshell memo. Despite the fact that this is all complete bullshit and lies, I'm actually getting to the point where even if Donald J. Trump did, in fact, break the law, I don't care which is just hateful to me, but the Left has driven me to that point. In any case, we're getting into the weeds here. The thing of it is, is that bereft of an agenda, morals, scruples, ethics, character and respect for the law, the Left and the Establishment, which seemingly really is being led by the Media pace Rush, were utterly rejected last November. Having been pulverized at the ballot box and in the arena of ideas, they are ginning up an insurrection that minimally will hamper the President's agenda, which is OUR agenda, and maximally tear what's left of the the nation that Obama and company have not already destroyed completely to shreds. What that will look like I will not venture to say, but it ain't gonna be pretty. This talk of impeachment is madness. But considering the animus on the GOP side of the aisle towards the President, they may, on the pretext of his being a political albatross around the neck of party, go along with the Democrats and have a duly elected President discredited, disgraced and removed from office simply for political expediency and petty hatred/jealousy. THIS. MUST. NOT. STAND. I hold the media accountable here and now for what might happen should they succeed in having him removed from office. It's on their collective head, and let's leave it at that.

Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

It is not going to happen. It will take more than a few DIABLOs crossing over to get up the needed votes for an impeachment.

Didn't said Ethics Officer not six months before let the VP of International Marketing off scot free even though that person conducted company business on a private computer system? And in clear violation of company policy?

It literally makes no sense and seems to be a desperate "gotcha" ploy by someone.

55 Got "Shattered" from the library after waiting a couple weeks and started skimming over it last night. Lots of good stuff but I have to note the writers Allen and Parnes still live in their media bubble. They repeatedly talk about the media firestorm around certain events like Hillary's deplorable rant (which they tried to explain away and put in context) and her passing out on 9/11 and being thrown in a van (they accept the whole cold/pneumonia BS). The only media storm around her screw ups were to cover them up or downplay them. The reasons anybody know about them are because non-MSM sources made it impossible to ignore, despite their efforts.

As Hillary preps for the third debate after trouncing Trump in the first two (really?) they talk about her in-depth, wonkish knowledge of the issues and how this comes across bad against Trumps short, brusque soundbites. I saw a few other passages like this where her biggest problem is her intelligence whereas Trump's idiotic babbling seemed perfect for the angry masses, who they seem unable to comprehend their anger. Not a word that I saw (so far) about her endless lying, corruption and cover-up of her husbands messes.

None of this surprises me and I know the book will have some great parts but clearly they still do not get it. What will it take?

The MFM seems to believe its own Liberal fairy tale that "The Pen is mightier than the sword". While the Pen might be mightier than the sword, the experience of Journalists in Mexico - among many other places - has been that it is clearly not mightier than the AK-47.

Of course it is only because rough men of violence stand ready to protect the first amendment with weapons and a willingness to use them, that Liberals can foment their seditious acts.

In other words, the second amendment outranks the first, and I for one am getting tired of protecting the rights of people who are - quite literally (by the legal definition in the Constitution) treasonous turds.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but I believe it was Andrew Johnson, during the run up to the Civil War, who arrived at a town to make a speech and was told that there were men in the town that would kill him if he spoke.

Johnson got up to the podium and repeated what he had been told. Then, very deliberately, he drew out a pistol and placed it on the podium where everyone could see it.

And he made the speech.

Methinks a few GOP reps ought to take a page from old Andy.

And that would be the overcommitment I mentioned earlier. If the Deep State / Media axis keeps up with its current strategy of trying to find anything, no matter how absurd, to claim is some kind of apocalyptic dereliction of duty they're going to burn the little credibility they've got left. It's already worn thin.

My advice is, when you're out with a mixed group of friends, don't even mention politics. Just wait until someone says something negative about the media, and then say "Yeah, we're in a new age of yellow journalism." People hear that a few times, and the penny will drop.

160 The latest NYT BS story is that Trump asked Comey about prosecuting reporters who publish classified information and throwing them in jail. They act like that can not be done and they are FOS. The infamous Pentagon Papers case even involved the NYT who Nixon tried to block from publishing classified information. The Supremes wrongly ruled that he could not block the publishing under rules of pre-censorship w/o a court injunction. They also ruled that the government could prosecute after the fact (which they should have done in that case).

Would there be any counter-balancing Comey diary entires for the various interactions and activities where the Clinton Mob and 'Comey and the FBI intersected?
There -won't be and if they do exist they will, miraculously be positive 'diary' entries concerning Hillary and all things Clinton.
If you read his history you will see Comey for exactly what he is--a squat to piss Dem mole of the. Highest order.
To summarize--if ONE diary entry is brought out on Trump then ALL the diary entries must be brought out and ,if they are, won't it be interesting to see the treatment of Dems versus Trump?

175 Not defending WIPO here, but as a US patent attorney, I can't see how Nork's international patent application "boosts" their chemical weapons capability. I do think it's weird that they filed it, even weirder that it's in English, and flat-out bizarre for WIPO to claim that UN agencies are not bound by UN Security Council resolutions.

But WIPO does not issue patents; they just funnel the applications into national patent offices. It gives NK no greater ability or legitimacy to obtain the materials or produce sodium cyanide. If it comes to the US patent office, it will definitely get flagged and likely put on ice. China is probably the only country that might even examine it, but not now that they're putting the screws to NK.

I think the real news here is that WIPO is even more full of assholes than I thought. Duly noted!

180 One problem is that this isn't just hysteria, it's a strategy. One point Klavan makes repeatedly (and correctly) is that this is how they handled GWB. Pile on accusation after accusation, pseudo-scandal upon pseudo-scandal, until something happens which actually does make him look bad to those not already insane (which will inevitably happen). In Bush's case, it was Katrina. (Yes, they misreported that, too, but it did the job.) Then he's wounded.

The same trick was played on Ronnie, leading up to Iran Contra, albeit with less effect. (And of course, Nixon before Watergate.) Sooner or later they'll get a shot at taking him down. They're like the bulldog in White Fang.

The only solution is really hurting them back. And I don't buy the notion that loss of money is going to fix this. They are pursuing a strategy of appealing to a loyal fan base at the core, with innumerable allies spreading the word in the entertainment media.

Start destroying careers, now. It needs someone with money to get it working, but it's the only way.

****

Well, there are some gaps, inconsistencies and typically shoddy reporting in that story. Baby born at 36 weeks should not have "totally premature" lungs. If baby was on a mechanical ventilator the first "weeks of life" that would imply something like neonatal pneumonia rather than premature lungs (unless they miscalculated the gestational age). 'Weeks' on a ventilator in a NICU is going to cost more than $200,000. My guess is that 'weeks on a ventilator' is more like 'days on oxygen tube'. At 36 weeks gestation I would expect 2-4 weeks in hospital, easily $200,000.

General rule of thumb, expect a premature baby to be ready to go home more or less by the time the original due date rolls around.

They're in no danger from the Tea Party types (which is what they're alleging). And I seriously doubt that they're in danger from their fellow travelers either, since it looks as if they largely did that shit on their own, just to be down with the struggle.

People like Rich and Foster however, they were intimately involved in the DNC and Clinton political machines. They had full access to all the skeletons in the closet.

291 Since it has been a while since we had a gun thread - my latest toys.

A Marlin XT22 bolt action .22 lr with a 22 inch barrel. This is my - inexpensive to shoot - marksmanship training rifle. I have put the same scope on the Marlin as I have on my .300 Win Mag; an SWFA Super Sniper 10 X 42 milquad rear focus. That is an actual Mil Spec (NATO) Sniper Scope (also used by a number of SEAL snipers). The scope is renown for its ruggedness and the accuracy of its turret tracking. Highly recommended. And yes, the scope costs more than the rifle.

http://tinyurl.com/kgr32vs

The idea is that I'll get a much less expensive way of training my fundamentals on the .22 ( ~ $0.10 a round as opposed to something approaching $1.00 a round on the .300 Win Mag.)

In general shooting a .22 at 100 yards is very similar to shooting .300 Win Mag at 300. The main difference is that the .22 forces me to pay much more attention to the wind which is exactly the experience I need.

The House would have to vote for that, meaning at least a sizable minority of Republicans would need to join Democrats to vote for the articles. Those Republicans would probably get shellacked pretty badly at their next primary, assuming that we don't see more evidence of wrongdoing than the weak innuendo we've seen so far.

Then, the Senate would need to vote to convict. That requires a 2/3 majority meaning that a little less than half of Republican Senators would need to join every one of the Democrats to accomplish it.

The idea that either of these things is going to happen is borderline insane. But of course, people will say, "GOPe is dumb!", and I would agree. But they're not this dumb.

304 288 Robespierre spent his whole life piously claiming to be vehemently anti-death penalty.

Those thousands of beheadings he supported and often aided and abetted? Well that was different. Those were badthinkers, and besides, on second thought the death penalty wasn't so bad when *he* was the one deciding who died.

Hell, Robespierre so abhorred the death penalty he made sure to make it easier by removing the right to trial.

Robespierre was a true Leftists alright.

Robespierre was a small town magistrate before the French Revolution. If I remember correctly, he was largely just an unassuming public servant until that point.

I have a feeling that it wasn't that he was always evil at heart, but that the ideology of the Revolution changed him.

They don't just hate us, they hate what we stand for.

They hate that we would rather do things our own way than do things their way. They hate the idea that people have rights that come from a higher source than mere government.

As tempting as it is to rest comfortably in the idea that Texas alone would be the world's 10th largest economy, ahead of Canada, that would only delay the problem, not end it. Their efforts against an independent Texas would begin the moment there was no longer a United States.

The liberals have pushed that BS meme for a lon time. What they don't say is how they arrive at that number. They count federal spending on the military and national parks as money allocated to the States. There are a lot more military bases in the South and red States because the blue States do not want them. There are more national parks in the red States as well.

If you look at only money allocated to welfare and other socialist programs just NYC alone would override a lot of red States.

But with us out of the way, if we're ever out of the way, there's no way their alliance will endure. The secular Leftist and the Islamist want very different things. The secular Leftist wants a world where he is the ultimate power, and the Islamist insists that everything be done by their alleged prophet's mad scribblings.

It's like a modern day Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, a truce of convenience that will end the moment it's no longer convenient.

380 The liberals have pushed that BS meme for a lon time. What they don't say is how they arrive at that number. They count federal spending on the military and national parks as money allocated to the States. There are a lot more military bases in the South and red States because the blue States do not want them. There are more national parks in the red States as well.

They also conveniently leave out how much the state and local federal income tax deductions skew the numbers.

383 OT, but I've been watching the current season of Archer, and is it just me, or has Lana Kane become a completely unfunny character?

In the most recent episode, she did a 2 minute history of black and female agents in the FBI followed by a few digs at J. Edgar Hoover. I have no love of Hoover, but nothing about the diatribe was funny.

I'd be willing to bet money that it's driven by the actress's (Aisha Taylor) desire to bring wokeness to the show.

386 Don't know who said it first, but if Comey is such a detailed notetaker--I want to see his memos about meeting with Loretta Lynch after her driveby with Bubba.

I heard Eli Lake on the radio saying that enough non-political people were concerned so this warrants concern. Yeah, I'm not seeing any non-political people saying this is an issue.

On the larger point, I did also hear some guy on the news today saying that Comey is known for taking very good notes after meetings where he has concerns and then sharing them with his staff. I think the groundwork is being laid for a story that "hey, Comey didn't have concerns about meetings where Clinton was discussed, so there are no notes for THAT."

"Every major urban center in the middle is a leftist enclave. Austin, Denver, Chicago, Detroit..."

It isn't so much the city as it is the influence of a large university sited in them. There is where the locus of the leftist infection lies and spreads out from. That is why taking control of the academe was the first item on the New Left's agenda back in the 60s-70s. There can be no Revolution without general indoctrination.

Simply that I refuse to malign someone for being overweight on an assumption that they "should" care about it. Maybe they don't. Maybe there's a health issue that's keeping the weight on.

479 Another quote from the "Paper of Record" --if by "record" you mean "having the quality to contain and/or partially absorb parrot droppings."

Reporting on the commutation of Brad "Call Me Chelsea" Manning by the Illustrious First Black, Gay and Transgender President by providing "context" it provides this "context" about Wikileaks (direct quote):

"They also vaulted WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, to global prominence and put them at odds with the Obama administration, including Secretary of State Hilary Clinton. That mutual enmity set the stage for Wikileaks role six years later in disseminating campaign related emails the government says were hacked by Russia to undermine Mrs. Clinton's presidential campaign and help Donald J. Trump's"

Oh so "the government" sez Russia (a) did it, (b) with the INTENT to help Trump over Clinton. AND they provide the context of "enmity" that "set the stage" (i.e. provide a speculative motive, for their speculative theory, so as to make sense to the rubes). And of course, repeat the magic word "hack" to hammer home the Democrat mnemonic.

It is this sort of repeated "by the way" and "of course" crap that really makes propaganda work.

It's very hard, but it is the right thing to do. And it frequently is a very aggressive disease. Our girl was only five, and we had to put her down just two weeks after she was diagnosed. She had a large mass in her chest, pressing on her heart and lungs so she had difficulty laying down. When I found her trying to sleep standing up, with her head resting on the toilet, my heart broke. We made the "sad ride" the next morning.

We gave him such a nice life....room to run, critters to chase, good food, soft bed, a fire to lay by in the winter. He had it good.

505 I personally declare:
1. At the next election my incumbent reps and senators will be defeated or primaried. That is my default position: what they do between now and then will determine whether that changes.
2. ANY support for the coup now going on against the duly elected President will cause me to wholeheartedly support a recall process if permitted by law.
3. If not permitted by law, as in the case of Senators, I will work until they will be driven from office by any means available.

514 462 453 ...But...what fear of consequences? If the person has insurance, they'll get their triple bypass taken care of, right? It's not $100,000 out of their own pocket.

Young men want to be rich and powerful and old men want to be young and healthy.

Related: I seem to be losing the syncho on 2nd gear. It'll grind sometimes when downshifting. If I had insurance that would rebuild the transmission for me when the thing blows up, I might not care all that much. But I don't, so I do. It forces me to tend to little problems like the occasional grinding gear now while it remains a smallish problem instead of later when it becomes a big problem.

I dunno. I try to live by Navan Johnson's (The Jerk) rules for life:

1. Lord loves a working man (get busy!)
2. Don't trust whitey (get it in writing. Aka good fences make good neighbors)
3. See a doctor and get rid of it (it's broken, fix it)

I think most people are only willing to fix the broken things in their lives when the pain becomes unbearable, but I've found that when fixing broken things is the main priority life gets much better very fast.

520 I'm beginning to wonder if Trump is ever going to figure out that he has traitors living in his house? It's not too late to summarily fire all the Obama holdovers and GOPe sympathizers. EVERY. LAST. ONE.

I mean, honestly, how much worse could it get for him? Just do a major address directly to the people: "Today I am firing all of Barack Obama's political appointees that still hold positions in government. There comes a time when an executive must have his own people in important positions, and it is clear that there are too many who are NOT on board with the agenda you elected me to pursue. These people are the likely source of the leaks that are confounding my ability to do the people's work. I will take no questions at this time."

They are proceeding apace with their Pre-Written Impeachment Plan, which was written before Trump even won the nomination, let alone the election or took office.

Ryan just gave a presser on taxes and the #ProfessionalLiars asked zero questions about taxes, only about how to impeach. Americans want tax relief and growth but the Pure Propaganda Press is only interested in their own agenda, not America's.

526 I seem to remember a time when President Jimmy Carter revealed information that got four operatives working in the USSR killed. Anyone remember Carter's censure or impeachment? Oh yeah, that never happened. Also, during wartime, FDR revealed intelligence to Stalin regarding the Axis who were the common enemy. Remember reading about the press calling for FDR's impeachment over this? Of course not, since, like ISIS, the Axis was the common enemy.

Posted by: jim at May 17, 2017 10:52 AM (gjGvH)

527 @ballsack,

Your name is appropriate in that respect. It's a damn shame the media, the Dems, and the Repub elites did not have the same tenacity regarding all the violations of the Constitution promulgated by Barack & company. The scandal regarding the recording, capture, and exposure of Americans supposedly incidentally captured by our government under Obama's tenure (and undoubtedly by his direction) has been quietly swept under the rug by the media, along with all the other scandals such as Fast&Furious, IRS Teaparty targeting, Benghazi, and others.
If Trump truly did something illegal, get him. At this point all we have is another accusation in s long list of accusations, most of which have been debunked, promulgated by a leftist media intent on destroying anyone they disagree with.

528 Hrothgar, thank you so much.

It is a sad thing, this cancer.

We lost our good Fritz to it, years ago. But we didn't know in advance. He ran toward a fence, gave a yip, we got him to the vet..tumor in his bone. They said they could amputate, but I couldn't do that to him. We had him put to sleep. He was near nine. Great dog.

It's odd, though I am sure better, that we know ahead with Jakob. He won't suffer as Fritz possibly did.

Posted by: lizabth at May 17, 2017 11:08 AM (p0fBx)

529 >>>They said they could amputate, but I couldn't do that to him

You would be surprised how little amputation fazed a dog. It's inspiring really. Had to amputate one dog's leg and she honestly was happier when we picked her up than when we dropped her off (to be fair she had a great disposition). The humans were in tears and she was in the back of the car just happy as a pig in shit. I finally had to ask, what the hell am I crying for? She's fine! Dogs are incredibly resilient.

531 I have to say I'm disappointed its taking so long to expose these leakers. I know the FBI is still slow-walking any investigation, to give the Deep State time to torpedo Trump. But enough is enough.
We need to start calling our Congress critters, and demand they get a spine transplant.
Like others have said, I really wish Trump would say
"The only crime committed here is the unlawful leaking of classified information. We are going to prosecute the leakers, and all who are enabling them"

Posted by: Iblis at May 17, 2017 11:29 AM (9221z)

532 Oh, for sure, BSG..that is very true. Sadly, with Fritz the tumor was in his shoulder bone, and there were signs of smaller tumors elsewhere. Would have bought him a little time, maybe, but it wasn't a cure, in his case.

Rep. Trey Gowdy: When
history knows the full fact pattern that led Director Comey to have the July
news conference - I mean, I think what your viewers know is a meeting on the
tarmac - between the spouse of a suspect, uh, the suspect of, or the target of
an investigation and the attorney general. What your viewers don't know,
Martha, and what Jim Comey frankly can't tell them because it's classified, and
I can't tell them because it's classified, there were a lot of other reasons
that Jim Comey decided to take that decision upon himself. And I think history - and I've had plenty of
differences with Jim Comey, I want to be clear about that, lots of them - but I
think history's going to be much kinder to Jim Comey and that July press
conference than the Democrats were when he had it. I think he had access to information that,
because he is a stand-up guy, he's not going to disseminate classified
information - although God knows everybody else is. He's not going to do it, even if it casts him
in a negative light. So all your viewers
see is this meeting on the tarmac... Jim Comey had access to additional
information that I am convinced left him with no other choice but to make the
decision he made in July.

Martha MacCallum: So
you're saying he had no choice, there was pressure on him to not prosecute
Hillary Clinton? Is that what you're
suggesting?

Gowdy: No, no. I think he had access to information and
wanted to safeguard the integrity of the investigation and the integrity of the
process and I probably ought to just leave it right there. But I'm not talking about pressure. I don't think the guy feels pressure. I think he wanted the public to have
confidence in the investigation and the outcome. Even though I disagreed with the outcome, he
wanted you to have confidence in the process.
He had access to information that your viewers don't have, and they
might not ever have because it is classified.
But trust me when I tell you this, Martha, I know what it was. And I have been a critic of Jim Comey in the
past, but he made the only decision he could have made with respect to
appropriating that decision away from the Department of Justice, and making the
decision himself, and history will be a hell of a lot kinder to him than the
democrats were at the time.
