Tomorrow, November 7th is the 47th anniversary Yoko & John's 2nd LP, Wedding Album.

Sex, drugs and text books. A look inside Los Angeles's' University High and its Innovative Program School, or IPS.

What began with 150 or so students would eventually double in size before the program ended in 1978. Several IPS students worked at The Red Tide, an underground newspaper that, among its other agitations, hosted a speech by the actress Jane Fonda, known to conservatives as “Hanoi Jane” for her support of the Viet Cong. The American Nazi Party was also invited to give a presentation, after which Holtby compared the students’ narrow-mindedness to that of the presentation they’d just witnessed. Paul Beahm, who would change his name to Darby Crash and found the pioneering punk band the Germs before dying of a heroin overdose in 1980, met his bandmate—and future Foo Fighters guitarist—Pat Smear when they were IPS students. “People thought it was a really weird school,” Beahm was quoted as saying in the book Lexicon Devil. “Like one of the teachers was a convicted child molester. Carole King’s daughter went there with us, too. And Jeff Bridges used to visit us all the time.”

Will global warming melt the special snowflakes? We can only hope. Can't we?

As if another example of our culture’s narcissism were needed, twenty-something writer Elizabeth Sherman has taken to the pages of The Washington Post to complain that she doesn’t have a term for her boyfriend. Why? Because according to her, the word “boyfriend” isn’t good enough, and society hasn’t provided a new, better one yet.

“Cory is not my boyfriend,” Sherman explains in “He’s Not My Boyfriend. He’s Not My Partner. What Do I Call My Guy?” “That word does not communicate the depth of our relationship. There was no period in our relationship where we were casually seeing each other. We did not engage in the coy games of courtship, never waiting the requisite four to six hours between text messages or closing the door to pee. We aren’t technically dating, either. We both work demanding jobs with long hours, so date nights are a rare treat.”

Wonder what he calls her?

It's not a math test. It's a test to become a U.S. citizen. No, it isn't open book.

Modern art has become obsessed with identity politics at the expense of beauty and form.

During a panel discussion, Ahmari asked two filmmakers if they ever thought about creating projects with nonpolitical content or considered aesthetics. They looked at him like he’d wandered in from another dimension and told him, in so many words, no. He wanted to pull his hair out. “It is almost inconceivable,” he writes, “that so many filmmakers could think of nothing—nothing, nothing, nothing—but the politics of representation, ‘performativity,’ gender, race, queer theory, etc. There must be other subjects, in the world outside or in their inner lives, which belong on the silver (or digital) screen.

Also modern art is gutless. Comparing a swastika to the Star of David is not bold or brave. Bold and brave would be comparing the swastika to the star and crescent (The symbol of Islam)

Don't speak English? Have no marketable skills? Why the U.S.A might be the place for you under Hillary Clinton. Clinton's plan would cost an immediate tax increase of $1.2 trillion.

Nothing says Merry Christmas like a vagina shaped Christmas ornament.

Musical Interlude, Just Because.

What happens when you carry at work when policy says "no carry allowed"? You get to protect yourself and others when you are robbed.

California Air Resources Board (CARB) has found out how Audi cheated on emission tests.

But the cheat reportedly works thusly, and it's ingenious in its simplicity:

When the Audi starts up, its transmission engages a 'low CO2' program, shifting gears in such a way as to keep engine revs and emissions artificially low. If the steering wheel is turned more than 15 degrees, car deactivates the program and the car shifts in its normal, more pollutant fashion that burns more gas and produces more CO2.

Holy Crap!!! Could this be the renewable resource of the future? The ONT suggests mining Washington D.C.

Venezuela continues with it's downward spiral. Lack of food, sky high inflation, and now the return of diphtheria. Aint socialism grand?

On Friday a jury found that Rolling Stone magazine defamed an administrator of the U. of VA with malice. The Federalist's Mollie Hemmingway rips their lame ass apology tepid and self-serving response

Food. Everything you know is wrong a lie. As we have discussed before in the past, marketing and the Fed Government. What can go wrong?

The University of California is called out on a curriculum of Anti-Antisemitism.

Two letters were sent this week to UC system president Janet Napolitano, urging her to address the rise of anti-Semitism on campus, especially the use of the classroom by professors and student educators who use their positions to indoctrinate students with an anti-Israel agenda.

Who does the cooking in your home? Who does the dishes? The ONT suggests that the sammich maker shouldn't have to do dishes.

Just another 2 days of political advertising. One of the most tiresome cries? Get the money out of politics. Funny when the Nannies spend money to curtail freedom they are quiet.

Amazing photos. National Geographic photographs. Beautiful. Awesome. Just what the Horde needed.

Genius Award.

Feel good story of the day.

My fervent prayer is that there are such solid Trump wins in FL, PA, NC and VA, as to render the media mute and befuddled, taking from them early in the evening, their ability to "talk up the dems", in the Western states.

I want the Dem voters in the Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones to not even bother getting up to go out and vote.

An East Coast Trumpian Triumph would go far towards this dream.

And I will absolutely relish the victory, and my drunken celebration thereof.

I have a pretty big SUV and he had a prius type car, so he didn't touch me but he kept on until we got to the light. Then he sped off, through the light. a vagina shaped Christmas ornament..

Burlington, Ontario, Canada

In December of 2012, I set off for a weekend up north. I was armed to the teeth with neutral coloured pieces of plasticky craft shop felt: I was going to make my kids' preschool teachers a few woodland animal ornaments for their Christmas gifts. I've always had a creative bent, so I thought nothing of whipping up a few animal ornaments.

97 "Of course, a fossil fuel from poop is still a fossil fuel,"

No, it's not. No more than biodiesel made from waste French-fry grease is a fossil fuel. Words have meaning, dillweed (pointing at author of this crap). "Fossil fuel" means fuel that was organic material in the distant past and has been preserved as hydrocarbons. Otherwise-identical hydrocarbons fuels synthesized from plant or animal matter are not fossil fuels.

And nowhere in the article is there any mention made of the energy efficiency of the process. If it takes 3000 BTU's of process heat to make "poopoline" with an energy content of 2000 BTU's, the process is a net loss, and somewhere, somehow, more "carbon pollution" is released to the atmosphere than would be the case if we got the fuel from crude oil.

Math be hard.

You have to manufacture the stuff, and any method you choose is going to involve an energy input, or a loss of embodied energy from the source material. Most commercial hydrogen is made by "reforming" methane, which is natural gas, and which is perfectly viable as a motor fuel in its own right, with fewer drawbacks than hydrogen.

Milady is an excellent chef, while I'm only a passable cook (thanks to 40 years of learning from her). I do most of the clean-up -- it's mostly worth it as trade-off.

And she often does the larger and messier stuff anyway, like the hard-to-clean Cuisinart after making sunflower seed butter which we do frequently, or like last night, cleaning the oops-she-forgot-to-grease-the pan after making her excellent meatloaf.

Used about every measuring utensil in the house, though.

I left today before she and daughter were done making a cake. They had to clean up after that one. Later, though, I got cake.

She does all the ironing.... and, back in the day, handled many of the poopy diapers that would drive me out of the room retching uncontrollably. So I'm still paying back on that...!

There are Youtube videos of the "Alaskan" mill in action. I didn't watch any. Pretty sure you should install a chain optimized for ripping on the chainsaw. And of course, more waste as sawdust compared to a circular saw or bandsaw mill.

Are there no custom sawmills in your area? Might want to search for one.

I have an Alaskan mill and used it a lot many years ago.

There are some things you will need

A powerful saw, I used an Husky 266 back then.

Special rip chain. Crosscut chain won't work effectively.

Lots of time, for it is much slower than you will be told.

I did use it for cutting special things like walnut subsills for the old place and locust girders.

Poplar siding was better purchased at the sawmill. Just too expensive in time and money to use the Alaskan. You can try mine if you like, but I no longer have the rip chain.

Posted by: Votermom the Deplorable @vm on Gab.ai at November 07, 2016 12:17 AM (Om16U)

This election is important, obviously.
However, even if somehow (fraud and a flawed system), Hillary does win, the left has a TON of other anxieties to face next. And none of those problems can be fixed by rigged elections.

Crushing debt levels are threatening those cushy government jobs, the welfare state model is failing which means they get to face the mobs, those near zero and below zero interest rates are just killing those cushy government pension plans they have....
Their media has been exposed as corrupt. Tuition bubbles about to burst. Their entire little leftist worlds are about to explode around them as they're frantically racing around trying to punish anyone who points to a a transgender and truthfully points out "Nah, that's still a dude..."

So fine - even IF the bitch gets this election, it's a Pyrrhic victory. $90 to $200 Trillion dollars in unfunded government liabilities - good luck with that.

EVEN if we lose Tuesday, we win. Winning is going to look a lot like burning as all of their leftist dreams collapse. However, even in the BEST Trump Presidency of our dreams, President Trump wouldn't be able to solve all these problems. At best, he'll make it easier to recover and make the transition easier - all the while the left just BITCHES at him.

A Trump victory would be the best present Hillary Clinton EVER got. We're not going to recognize the world in 8 years.

328 Many of my coworkers are liberals. They think I am the nicest, friendliest and hardworking coworker they have ever met. When I got a new boss, the entire office couldn't say enough good things about me to him.

All that would evaporate into thin air the second they knew I was a Trump supporter.

In fact I think I lost a friendship of 7 years when I told her I was voting Trump. Now she thinks I endorse rape and have no problem with men sexually assaulting women without their consent. I told her Trump had never said that and she just ignores the actual quote, because it doesn't fit her world view. I thought our debate was amiable but I haven't heard from her in two weeks.

Yep. '

Anecdote from earlier tody:

My godfather is convinced Trump is a rapist.

And yes, Hillary is corrupt, but Trump is a rapist. Worse than Bill Cosby

And Bill Clinton, there were never any accusations against him. He's not a bad man.

WTF?

This is an educated man who only believes what the media tells him. Thinks the alternative media is cr@p.

A script for you then, m'dear Cali Girl.

Go to the diner, and give them a "farewell note" with something along these lines:

"When you fired your window washer, you fired a good, kind and generous man, who never had a bad word to say about you, your business or your relationships, and was happy to serve the needs of your business, withal.

But also, when you fired him, you fired me along with him. Because, you see, I know tolerance, and I know intolerance, and what you've done was demonstrably intolerant, harmful to both his business and well being.

And it was intolerant to me, because as I also had, and have, no issue with your sexuality, your relationships or even your public personas, I valued your talent in the culinary arts, and always found you to be, I THOUGHT, 'nice, pleasant and sociable.' But, I also support Mr. Trump's candidacy, and thus, know that I, too, am no longer welcome in your business.

What you've done though, was not nice, pleasant or sociable. It was the very definition of, and action proving, intolerance, small mindedness, judgmentalism, 'othering', and every other form of discrimination against which you so ardently, yet emptily, now rail.

In times past, I often defended the two of you to many of the farmers and old timers around here, who had rot to say about the two of you.

I'll defend you no more, but not because of anything having to do with your sexuality or relationship.

But rather, I won't defend a pair of small-minded, petty thinking, anti-generous of heart, priggish, sanctimonious and up-tight political prudes as the two of you.

And further, I'll do all that I can and at every opportunity, to tell one and all about how you've hurt that man's business, livelihood, well being and peace of mind, all because you not only 'disagreed' with his politics, but by that, also found him to be personally and humanly disagreeable to you, to the point that you've not only wished him harm, but have actually visited it upon him by your actions.

You've demonstrated that neither of you are tolerant, respectful, respectable or honorable individuals.

I'm paying my last check here today. I hope I won't be the only one making the same decision as concerns your restaurant.

But, please don't cry bias, discrimination or prejudice, okay? Not unless you're looking squarely into the mirror as you do so.

Regards,

Cali Girl.

That economic pain you are feeling? Probably shouldn't have decided you could afford one in the first place. And if you think your insurance costs too much, well, just think of the alternative. If Trump is elected the Fed will probably pull the rip cord in late November and then Barky will try to have everything called off and himself permanently installed as Emperor Savior. This is not a joke. In 2008 Barky and his team actually proposed that, because of the credit crisis, Bush should step down in December and Barky should just "take over". They actually tried to float that idea, which was more than enough to know that he never should have been sworn in, at all.

They had an office in Haiti located right near a river that supplied drinking water, and their cesspool was built right next to it, causing the contents to leech into the local water supply, causing an outbreak of cholera.

That's right, the UN literally crapping into the drinking water of the country they're supposedly trying to help. Haiti's lucky the EPA doesn't have an office there.

395 Cali Girl.

Nearby other businesses will have cameras.

Park at least six blocks away. Wear face-shielding, shape-hiding clothes. And latex gloves, so as not to leave fingerprints, even on the printed paper itself, and especially the tape or the door.

But also, think real hard about finding ways to get more copies into the general circulation. Won't take too long before the copies get copied, and things go viral, even if only via hard copy.

Odds are though, someone will put it online, and it'll take off. You can then sit back, and chortle a bit.

I'd wager also, your window washing friend's business will be swamped with new customers.

Which might just restore a small bit of justice and order to the cosmos, after all.

Craftin a persuasive/(logical) message is the KEY to changin the minds of the People we talk to every day. Your "cheater bar" arguement is an example, as is Cali's script.

I'd totally fund/support an addition in the sidebar of a "resource" devoted to this subject. The El Supremo posts incredibly persuasive posts, (as do the other endorians)...But...But.......

Enpowerin an equipin the Horde with tools/methods/resources to deliver a personal persuasive message could only help us all. JMHO....

Posted by: CaliGirl

You have no idea. Most urban liberals are intensely intolerant of anything conservative. They would literally spit on you if they fund out you were conservative. I've seen it happen.

But mostly this never happens because there are strictly observed "tribal" lines: You live in your conservative world, and they live in their liberal world, and never the twain shall meet. So conflicts almost never happen.

I am in the opposite situation from you. Where I live nearly 100% of everyone is ragingly left-wing -- not even "liberal," but much more hardcore than that. Including all my family and friends. But few if any have any clue about me and my beliefs.

Interestingly, I have a very close friend who is married and both her and her husband are just off-the-charts lefties. And among all the people in my social circle, they are just about the only ones who know (or suspect) that I am not a fellow leftist. But they never "call me out" on it. Why not? Because they are literally afraid of me. Not afraid of me physically, but afraid of me philosophically. They are both youngsters, younger than me, and even though they are both "highly educated" they don't know jack shit about anything -- even though they are filled with self-esteem about being smart and informed.

At least they WERE filled with self-esteem prior to hanging out with me for extended periods of time; when they began to realize just how fundamentally ignorant they were on every single topic on Earth. Including and especially topic that were their "specialities" -- things they majored in in college, things they do for their jobs, etc. I casually reveal that I know more about their fields of expertise than they do.

But that's not the scary part - -the scary part is that I use my knowledge to reach "conservative" conclusions. I never come right out and day I'm not a liberal, but I demolish liberal/leftist ideologies as a kind of offhand side-effect of just making random observations and jokes in conversations.

They know they have no comebacks, nothing they can counter me with, so they have ceased bringing up anything even remotely political, knowing that it would lead to their worldview being trashed, unanswerably.

We have an interesting relationship now. Even though we each know that we are on opposite sides of a major social divide, the entire topic never comes up.

Thoroughly reviewing any case should take at least a couple of hours of work. But even if he gave each case only 5 minutes of individual consideration that would mean that he spent 5000 hours doing this, which would mean that he totally dedicated all working hours for 125 weeks to these cases. Over two whole years doing nothing but reviewing these ... and that's allowing him to be able to go from start to finish on each one in just 5 minutes.

McCaullife should be thrown in jail and all of these pardons rendered null and void.

459 navybrat, how are you disenfranchised - let us count the ways ....

You live in CA, so you're presidential vote is meaningless (though this applies to most states, actually).

Your vote can be cancelled out many times by fraudulent votes of the other side (fraudulent votes by the GOP are something that was a tiny phenomenon, and has been virtually non-existent since the 50s). Illegals voting. Dead people voting. Stolen/manipulated absentee ballots voting.

If your vote should prevail on some proposition of merit - that's of import to the ruling cretinous class - well, good chance it will be vitiated through non-compliance (see bullet train bond, or bilingual ed ban of years ago), or vaporized via faithless state officials and corrupt courts (see Prop Eight).

Oh - and as you noticed, you don't have a choice of major party for the only state-wide federal office on the ballot (and likely never will, again). If you're in one of 11 congressional districts in the state, you also don't have a GOP option for THAT office (hat tip: RioBravo.

But sure, you live in a representative, constitutional republic.

Back of the envelope math...

TRUMP
554,340 * .09 = 49,890
547,775 * .79 = 432,742
429,267 * .47 = 201,755

684,387

CLINTON
554,340 * .85 = 471,189
547,775 * .15 = 82,166
429,267 * .37 = 158,828

712,183

That's calculated Colorado vote based on the mail in vote returns thus far... first row DEM, 2nd REP, 3rd IND/OTHER... And the multipliers are party support based on PPP's latest poll. So, Trump is losing based on Republican's voting for Clinton.

I hope PPP is wrong on those party support numbers.

We really need to shorten the election cycle, if we still have any chance of recovering a functional Republic after all of this is over. 6 weeks for primaries (10 states per week, convention on the final week), and 6 weeks for the general. Over in 3 months. There's no reason why we need to drag it out over a year and a half.

I feel like I'm in a year-long siege, and we're getting to the point where we find out if we run out of food before the besieging army runs out of ammunition.

526 That bear is like Bill sitting on Hillary as he rolls into Office. Or, it could be like Bill and Hill sitting on the back of the tax payers of this country. Take your pick.

I stand behind Barky. I have a deep interest in this matter. It is possible Trump could win but let me explain the best case for Billary winning.

First, it will set a legal precedent where Hillary acts as Bill front man/bitch for Bill. Next, we do an end run around the "two term" rule. No more "two terms" for democrats!

Once that is cemented in place like the size of Michelle Obama butt in a sagging bed we can expect to see Barky back in the Whitty House with Michelle as front Woman. We can expect to see "Cash for clunkers." "Guns 4 Mexican Gangs" "Obamacare 4 the clingers," "Obamacare waivers 4 Unions" and BengayZ for US embassy guys". What more could you ask for?

Bill may blow and Barky may suck but that is just what this country needs. If Billary can bring the dollar on par with the Mexican Peso we will have achieved our goal. Good day.

Admittedly this is a daunting task -- vote review. But with the wiz bang thank you FBI email review force capability and the amazing review of McAuliffe of 60,000 felons -- case by case as required by law prior to autopenning-- it occurs that there might be hidden talent in this country capable of performing this Vote Review. Of course, it would have to be overseen by an ethically unchallenged staff but that too is doable. Hopefully.

537 We have solid proof that Bill raped women. We have vapor about Trump doing so.

We have solid proof of Hillary letting men die in Benghazi. We have Trump saying some obviously mean things. Saying them.

We have solid proof that Bill and Hillary have committed treason by allowing classified info out into the public and probably to our enemies, and accepting big donations from foreign governments who are NOT our friends.

We have the vapor that Trump once bought some Japanese or Chinese steel to put in one of his buildings (the only real source of said materials, and certainly not illegal).

We have ignoramous BLM guy claiming Trump is going to send black people to Africa, and claiming that Trump's wife is an illegal immigrant.

I think perhaps you misunderstand. The people who think Hillary should win are perfectly happy to have the media in the tank for her. They will cough up some excuse like patriarchy to explain why Hillary needs extra help, while at the same time telling you that she is the most qualified, smartest person who ever lived. 547 Too late. I'm already started.

They wanted David Koresh. But they didn't bother to co-ordinate with local LEOs who had been watching him for months and could have told the ATF that they could have him any Saturday night of the world by walking into his favorite bar.

They did this deliberately, in an attempt to compensate for the disaster at Ruby Ridge. Those people died for Janet Reno's ego.

The Decision Desk spun off from the AoS at the beginning of the year.

The Brandon quit his job because he believed in the Decision Desk, and is dedicated to delivering impartial results.

The Buzzfeed thing came about because they were willing to pay for an alternative to the Associated Press.

Most of the core Decision Desk people are in fact conservative, and grounded ones at that.

Morning creeper. Having problems this morning getting my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 to charge. Looks like the connection for the charging cable has become lose/noisy. This is a common mode failure. My older brother had problems with this type of connection on his phone. It uses surface mount machine soldering and you can not fix it. I am going to try to replace the cable first. If that doesn't work I guess I'll have to get a new unit.

The first "investigation" was a joke -- none of Clinton's computers seized or examined, none of Bill's computers, none of the Foundation's computers; no subpoenas issued, all the witnesses given immunity deals for no apparent reason (other than to make sure they couldn't be prosecuted for their multiple crimes). Then the FBI whines that they didn't have "access" to lots of evidence. No shit. When you set up the "investigation" to make sure you won't get the evidence you need, of course you don't have "access" to it.

Then, after the NYPD does its job and 650,000 of Hillary's email fall into the FBI's lap, they freak out. "Oh noes! We don't want to see this! Somebody quick, pretend to read some of these so we can tell the media that Hillary's in the clear before election day!"

Time-Warner gave me constant problems and their original $100 a month package went up to $130 a month - non-negotiable. After I lost the connection 3 times in the space as many weeks and the service people couldn't do anything to fix it, I decided I had had enough.

632 Much as I despise Google I've been grateful for
Google Maps more than once. Turn it on and a map pops up showing you
where you are. For those of us prone to getting lost it's a godsend.

My tablet is great for showing my location while traveling...next step down the road will be a pic of you sitting at a device staring up at the sky..../sac

633 Donna, that's reassuring. I think I'm going to wind up on ATT for service in OK. They were my provider her for a while 'til they pulled out of the market.

I've always had good service from them...to the point where they canceled a thousand dollars worth of charges to 900 lines run up by my son when he was a teenager. Looking forward to renewing the relationship.

634 Colin, whilst wearing my tinfoil hat I plastered a sticker over the lens of the camera that points at me.

No sense in tempting the Fates.

635 And they are rebooting Starship Troopers... funniest part was the video
of some idiot Hollywood guy who said... they need better Battle
Scenes.... when the Movie totally left out Powered Battle Armor... ie
the stuff that MADE them Starship Troopers...

YEP!
Probably my favorite book. Recently I pick up an e-copy of it, will reread it again. More the story of a boy becoming a man. But i guess that is frowned upon these days....the Republic is lost.

636 I had ATnT for my cerll phone originally. Worst service I ever had. It barely worked at home and didn't work at all in GA as soon as I got off the interstate.

I stole my wife's cord and it is now charging. I started my old Kindle charging and as soon as I get it charged I am going to move all my books to the Kindle.

I feel like hitting the rocking chair today and let everything go. But my "half gal" got severely depleted yesterday by multiple trips by neighbors with a damn mason jar.

637 I work from home and absolutely rely on my Time-Warner high speed. My livelihood literally depends on it.

In 14 months of working at home I've had exactly 2 outages, one for 20 minutes and one for half an hour. Both times I called T-W customer service and received an honest and accurate answer as to when my internet connection would be back up.

I guess I'm just lucky.

638 The Russians won't go through Poland. They will take the southern route through Romania-Croatia-Austria-Germany.

I don't see NATO being able to stop a determined offensive. NATO will still be deciding on a appropriate hashtag when Vlad the Invader hits the German Border.

IMO

642 We are time-stamp challenged this morning.

Remember the obit written by a daughter for her father, I think from 2014 or so, saying for the bulk of his adult life he railed against the evil of Daylight Savings? It was a great piece of writing, and a parting shot I could agree with happily.

645 There was yet another story out there this morning for two cops in GA shot responding to a household "disturbance". They were shot as soon as they got out of the car so it had to be a setup.

I blame Obama and Holder.
