Yeah, I've been hearing Ted Cruz ads as well. Maybe it's just to keep him top of mind? I have no idea. That said, I think he is the dark horse candidate at this stage. And if Trump goes all the way, I think he's going to be the Veep choice.

Party convention shenanigans notwithstanding.

And props to The Donald for making damn sure nobody's going all Katie Couric on him. You just know he had to have warned her. "Babs, I have a damn good shot at winning this thing. And if you want any access at all down the road..."

So, United Healthcare is going to pull out of Obamacare because it's bleeding them dry.

2 things of note:

a) the insurance industry couldn't wait to support it because it guaranteed them a customer base, so fuck them.
b) even if, as everyone says, Obamacare is on a death spiral and will collapse, it will still be the law of the land. And that is what the government will use to control the lives of every man, woman and child - as it was always intended.

56 I am rapidly developing a Nixonian hatred for the MFM. Was forced to watch NBC "news" last night, and Lester Dolt's second story, after the Mali bombings, was a several-minute-long screed about how Trump wants to make all Muzzies in the US wear badges, just like Hitler did to the Joooos!!!11!!

It was as if the whole hit piece had been written by Ed Morrissey or one of the other Witches of Salem: a total absence of fact, all based on Trump not belting a reporter across the face for dropping such a suggestion in front of him.

Trump must be better than I thought: for all that he is allegedly so gaffe-prone, so Not A Conservative, all those opposed to him seem able to do is fabricate bullshit stories.

Simple facts would torpedo most candidates: certainly Shrillery would be toast in an instant if people paid attention to what she has said and done, and Heb!, Rubio and Cruzer would all be out of the race if their adherents did some fact-checking.

If we are ever fortunate enough to wean the nation from its acceptance of leftist treason and toss its practicioners into obscurity, we will also have to sweep away at least one generation -- if not more -- of "reporters" and "pundits."

Rules for chance encounters with the bear :

Don't make eye contact, don't run. Don't scream and shout. If possible, walk away slowly and retreat to a safe place. If attacked by the bear, lay down, curl into a ball, and try to protect vital organs. Play dead.

Meanwhile, the bear is trying to pretend he is all alone and there are no other living animals within a hundred miles. Just walkin' here. Probably talking about doughnuts or something.

This is why "Black Lives DON'T Matter". It's not all those eeeee-vil white cops killing all those poor, put upon "dint do nuffin but wus gone to kollege" types. They are killing each other, in ton lots. And in the few cases where someone of the caucasian persuasion did shoot one of them, in the vast majority of cases they needed killin', as we say here in Texas, based on their behavior at the time. Michael Brown, needed killin'. Trayvon Martin, needed killin', just to name two recent high profile cases.

So unless and until these BLM assholes start addressing the REAL problems that the black community has (NONE of which have anything to do with "whitey"), then fuck 'em all with the Barbed Cock of Satan. They have no case and I'm sick of hearing their bullshit.

The anti-Trump hysteria is getting ratcheted up now. On the ONT they had a link to an article about George Lucas and the new Star Wars movie, which I read. I noted their next article was a review of that new show "The Man in the High Castle", so I read that too. And at one point, the lefty douchebag who wrote it made the comment that the show gave a good account of "what fascism in America would look like, such as under a Donald Trump presidency". I'm no Trump fan (still holding out for Cruz), and he may be a lot of things, but a fascist is not one of them. Hell, I doubt that the dork who wrote that would know a real fascist if one came up and bit him on the ass. Geez...

87 Trump the fascist. That's an illuminating thought. Trump shouts "build the damn wall" and that makes him a fascist; someone who decides things, and gives orders. Someone like Bush the Decider who sends troops into foreign countries.

In modern culture a 'real man' will avoid making a decision for as long as possible. A 'real man' will call for a committee of experts, and convene a three day conference where all interested parties can be heard, where all interest groups can participate in the decision making process, where a consensus will slowly build and in the end everyone will have an equal and fair share in the outcome.

See? That's democracy inaction.

94 One "good" thing the useless republicans (spit) did was somehow got choom to sign a bill that said the "risk corridors" could only be paid from money collected from the higher performing insurance companies and not general funds. I don't remember the exact numbers but the high performing companies only generated about 200M in fees and the other ones are asking for 2+B. We'll see if they have the nuts to actually follow through and tell the insurance companies "sorry, you're going to have to eat that." I admit that I like what I've heard Trump say, even though I'm not 100% comfortable with electing the dude president. And the things he has allegedly said that I don't like are mainly reported by the MFM and GOPe, so I'm not sure he ever said them.

But one of the top reasons for supporting his candidacy is the effect it is having on worthless squishes like Poppin' Fresh and the rest of the GOPe turd-polishers. The mere thought of having a guy like him as president -- as opposed to one of their Game of Politics darlings -- gives them the heebie-jeebies. I like that.

Also, the fact that Trump is, at the end of the day, a patriotic American. Those are in short supply these days.

Oh no, hon. I'm in Texas. I spent a couple of weeks in Bedford many moons ago taking a training class at what was then known as Wellfleet Communications. Nice little town, but that Boston traffic. OMG, I thought Houston was bad, but Houston traffic is a breeze compared to Boston, and the only time I spent there was going to and from the airport.

(A story. When I arrived at Logan, I took a wrong turn and got lost. Stopped at a gas station to ask for directions. The guy says "Go up to the rotary, and...". I'm like "Go up to the what?" Had no idea what the hell he was talking about, although I found out soon enough. Only took me two or three orbits on the "rotary" before I figured out how to go back the way I'd come and ultimately get on the road to Bedford.)

156 I feel a responsibility to repeat again what it is that Trump did not say. He was at a political event, working his way down the line, signing autographs. Having conversations with people. Someone with a camera came along and asked him a question. His head is down, he's obviously engaged with the other person, it's noisy. He looks up and says something like, 'yeah, we're gonna have that.'

That's why you're not going to ever see the television image of him saying he wanted some unique new database on Muslims. But the MSM is going to report 'around the facts' as if he actually had. Report all the nasty stuff Jeb said. Report what Hillary said. Report what John K said. The MSM knows he didn't say it, but they want that story to be true.

Not really. While he's not my favorite driver (Go Junior!), he's had a career many drivers can only dream of. And it's not like we'll never see him again, he's going into the booth to call races.

Nice looking wife.

I ran across an article last week that the American F1 team might offer Junior a ride. I rather doubt he'd take it, as he's 41 and a bit old for a driver in that series. But one never knows.

I'll be a little sad next year, when Tony Stewart hangs it up. Neat guy.

Have never been a fan of Jeffie-poo. I always had the feeling NASCAR sometimes "adjusted" things for him so they had an All-American Boy Racer to point to.

For someone like me, who remembers the days guys with Big Brass Ones, like Curtis Turner, AJ Foyt and Earnhardt Senior were racing, Gordon always seemed like a talented lightweight.

169 Chi-Town Jerry,
After all snow we had this year my older brother told me he was serious about leaving this state,
I spent 2 months looking at 4 states & wanted to move to Marble Fall, Texas.
He wanted to move somewhere where weather doesn't make national news, Arizona or New Mexico. Both states suck, but I looked in NM & found out it sucks & I thinks its i40 that runs through both & anything over that & you get a NYC winter.

Then Texas had all storms & we are at impasse!

After the "don't bring confederate flags to the races," I'm out. No patter, no intros to the songs, no insight into how he achieves the incredible effects. I'm hoping it was just the format, where he's trying to squeeze as much of his full-length concert into an abbreviated festival slot as possible. My alternate explanation is that he's a guitar playing robot with no personality.

The Left is just filled to the brim with neurotic shitbags, but-

strangely and boringly enough, it's always the same kind of neurosis.

A few years ago, in NYC, it was a group of young Jewish women who were scared and terribly traumatized every time-

they saw a cross.

*Cue Thunder. Lightning. Evil laugh.*

That's right.

They wanted churches to remove their crosses on their steeples because it was s-o-o-o-o-o-o traumatic and scary for them.

Of course, being borderline insane, they were laughed at and made fun of-

and that story died quickly in the MSM.

So, now with BLM we get the exact same boring neuroticism all fancied up with racial grievance-

the same borderline insane, fear-jabbering but this time with TFG in office it's taken seriously.

Please take a careful look. The actual power line is the highest one.

Yeah, it's the league/teams fault that he's not playing. It has nothing to do with his lack of ability and the only reason anyone knew anything about him was because he's bent. When Barry gets back he can invite him to the White House to comfort him. Hey Michael nice footballs!

335 Hi everybody! A quick announcement and probable thread-killer.

"To Save Us All From Ruin" - a delightful historical novel of WWII by a past and future unheralded novelist (close friend of mine, really close) will be available for free on Kindle today through Monday only!

Link in nick.

The downside is...well there is no downside. It's free and it's a great tale. Three days only. Even if you don't read it, you can give it a review on Amazon.

Here's what the critics are saying so far:

"It's great!" -- Missus Muldoon
"Woof"-- Buckley the bossy Aussie
"It sucks!" -- Seamus' brothers
"It's free!" -- Seamus

(Did I mention it's free?)

You might want to remove some important items from your home. Jewelry, photo albums, etc. Don't use the bath or shower either. Careful grabbing doorknobs as you may not be able to let go. Brush with the back of your hand to detect electric current.

Greg Hardy has a job with the Cowboys, similar to what a player like Mike Sam COULD be doing... Vick still has a job with the Steelers as their backup (I think), Peterson is leading the league in rushing.

So no, I'm not believing any player is evaluated by what he does off the field, unless he kills somebody... and even then they reluctantly deal with that. If you can play, you play. The NFL is about the single most meritocratic entity in the world.

If they don't want you, it's because you can't play. Plain and simple.

I get like that sometimes. In my case at least, it's generally a combo of frustration and anger, usually at world events (like now) but more frequently because of something TFG did or didn't do.

Frustration builds up because aside from sounding off in comments, there is so little we can do to make things right. We're told to shut up, ridiculed and ignored. Even elections don't work.

Okay, now I have a better picture. It's your power line between the pole and your home. These are traditionally insulated, and not much of a danger if something is touching them. If they get whacked hard enough the insulation can get stripped off, which is bad.

We got the number via my baby sister, but she warned us not to call mom on the cell, as mom might be confused.

Daughter visited yesterday and went over the phone with her. Mom said, basically I push this to call and push this to answer. Not hard.

Mom's four-and-some years from being a centenarian and still sharper than most folks. Heck, her TV remote control is far more complicated than the cell, anyway.

Laughing (amongst ourselves) at my Democrat baby sister's over-concern, our line, of course, is "still not as confused as Hillary!"

4. Therefore the reason I cannot get "A" is because third-party "C" has predetermined to judge me on characteristic "D".

5. Therefore I have a grievance.

Michael Sam:
A = be a professional football player
B = run fast, read offensive schemes, tackle
C = the coaches
D = homosexuality

A = college degree
B = read a particular curriculum and demonstrate a level of understanding of same
C = the professors
D = being a "person of color"

They're on their 4th QB of the season, winless in their Conference. Stout D, but no match for top level offenses for four quarters. Fenway is decked out in ND finery, as it's some sort of Shamrock Series, traveling road show. BC will get a home game down the road. Anyway, for Subway alumni like so many from MA, it'll be occasion for much chatter and more drinking. Nice if BC could keep it tight for at least a half.

He used to play football. Which is not unique, there are many ex-football players in this world. He also happens to be the guy who admitted he is gay, just before it was time to enter the NFL draft.

So he was drafted, which he otherwise would not have been, had he not disclosed his gayness. He has not succeeded as an NFL player, nor as a player in the Canadian Football League because being gay doesn't help one bit when it comes to actually playing football.

I was hoping to go hunting this year for the first time, but I can't find the certificate for the hunter's safety course, the prerequisite for getting a hunting license around here, and I couldn't really take the time to figure out how to get a new one in time for the hunting season due to a death in the near family in mid-October.

Oh well. At the moment the only gun I could pick up and go hunting with is Hatty the Turkish mauser, and it is a bit over-powered for the whitetail around here.

499 I wonder if COBs all took weekend off & no one told Ace?

500 Now, he's more or less drifted into obscurity, so I would imagine he misses the attention.

Well, she's not nude. But she certainly seems flexible.

Have a day, y'all.

503 @ 498

The important thing I forgot to say was that kill was made with my Garand.

VERY short range, maybe 60-70 feet,due to the area I was in. You can't see much further than that anyway.

No body hunts this patch because of it, the deer wised up long ago and hang in it.

504 I had hours and hours to kill yesterday, left it running in a window all day while I was online doing other things.

505 Minx can't handle any punctuation characters that are copied from someplace else. You gotta remove periods, commas, quotations marks, etc.

It's not all punctuation. I've not had issues with commas and periods, but curly quotation marks, curly apostrophes, and long dashes are the usual suspects.

506 Irongrandpa. I think it's simply Garand that you bagged your four pointer.

You can keep the backstraps. I'll go for those nice tenderloins tucked up under the spine and hips. There's only a meal's worth there, but goodness, what a meal they make.

*drools*

Seriously though, congrats!

507 Funny how the Soviet meme of Nazis and Fascists being "right wing" has persisted .... They were all socialist to the core, but to the right of The True Communists.
Tells you whose version of history all of the intellectual classes read and believe, though.

508 There was an Occupy/Mike Brown fluffer on twitter. She claimed that her son was kia after 9/11. I was curious and looked him up. He was attached to NATO and committed suicide in Mar 2001 in Brussels. I never challenged her on it.
