22 Good Morning Morons. Today is Monday, March 09, 2015. On this date in 1954 CBS television broadcast the See It Now episode, "A Report on Senator Joseph McCarthy", produced by Fred Friendly. Fred Friendly was a liberal who had CBS news wallowing in leftist causes, one of which was to destroy Joseph McCarthy. Old Joe was an asshole, and probably an alcoholic, but he was also right. The State Department and Hollywood were completely overrun with communists and Russian spies at this time.

And everybody in America thought they were unbiased news people.

South Carolina is an iconoclastic state that does not like to be taken for granted. Don't believe me, just ask Hillary about the last time she was here . . . in the 2008 Democratic primary when she was heavily favored and lost badly.

79 Fight the Chronocracy. Take back your hour. It's yours why should someone else get to use it?

Turn your clocks back. Keep perhaps one clock (the computer is automatic or your cell phone is too.) So you have a go to place to make sure you don't miss important stuff.

Otherwise go about your business. You will be surprised how quickly you adapt and mentally add a one to the Indicator so you know what time everyone else is living on.

It's quite liberating. I did it all last year and had no problems, no missed meetings or dates. No missed programs or scheduled events.

Some of you may have missed it over the weekend, but I'm asking for prayers for my grandmother. She had a stroke (her second) just over a week ago. They think the bleeding may be caused by the uppage in her Coumadin but weren't sure. She was still hospitalized as of yesterday.

And to answer the question of why we can do it when the "Crackpot from TX" (Presumably Perot) couldn't is simple. Perot was playing to lose, he bowed out of the race when it looked like he might win it, to destroy his own chances. He was essentially making an oversized donation to Clinton.

The amount of popular support that he generated before he sold out is proof that there is a market for a third party.

Before we unzip the big one for an Art.V we're sure we can win, howzaboutta big national convention on this pre-election thing? Clearly we-da-people swallowed a populist load with the current system; it's arguable whether it's even better than the party nominating conventions it replaced. The lack of public shame and scorn, and the conflation of fame and infamy in recent decades has a lot to do with the problem.

259 Said it before but I'll mention again the critical thing needed for a third party to offer a real choice and threat to the comfortable is instant run-off voting. You vote in your order of preference. If your first choice comes in at the bottom, that candidate is eliminated and all of those votes go to whoever was the second choice on the ballots. The process is repeated until a winner is determined. Nobody has to fear supporting a third party will hand the election to those they most oppose.
