4 I lived without a CD drive for years. I always installed from the network. In 2001 or so I bought a Sony Z505 laptop which had no built-in CD drive and no provision for one. I served me very well until it succumbed to a power controller's failure.

I obtained a CD burner when my anime collection started to press against the available hard drive space. Then I started burning ISOs too, and at first it looked like super innovation: you can just boot a standalone box without bothering with PXE or such. But then old coasters started littering my premises and my hard drive crunch dissipated somewhat and now I have a server without a CD again, and a workstation which does have a CD, but which I never use.

So I know how convenient a CD can be but nonetheless I think that it's highly overrated.

5 Basically nothing seems worth thinking about. I haven't been up to much these days. I just don't have much to say right now. I can't be bothered with anything , but whatever.

6 Not much on my mind lately. My life's been completely boring these days. I've just been hanging out not getting anything done. So it goes.
