I'm goin' ta hell. I've done confused Buford Pusser and porn in someone's mind. Sheriff Pusser's gonna get me for this, I just know it. Don't, fer one second, let the fact that he's no longer alive fool ya. I've seen the man pissed off. So has anyone who has ever seen even one of the "Walking Tall" movies. He wasn't overly thrilled with prostitution, so I doubt like hell he'd like to be confused with porn, either.
So, before I feel a psychic whack from his 'big stick' (*snort*-he'll forgive that one...I couldn't resist), let me enlighten ya.
The three movies are excellent. It is said that the first one, with Joe Don Baker is the best one. I, personally, like the last two better because Bo Swenson is gorgeous...for a blonde. Also, the movies are a bit "Hollywood". Buford's life was extraordinary enough, without all that, but they're still all good.
If you want to find out about the real man...and he was every bit a real man, too...whew...go here. There are more links to him there. Even one by his daughter, Dwana. I had catfish in her restaurant while I was there. And, yes, of course, I did the museum. That's where I got my club and shirt and coffee cup, keychain and the rest of it. Hell, one year, back in Salem County when it was time for the election of the Sheriff, I put a big ol' sign in the back window of my pickup that said "Pusser for Sheriff" and something else like "Even dead he'll do a better job" or something, under it, smaller. (I'm nothing if not a smartass, which is waaay preferrable to being a dumbass, no?) Anyhow....porn=bad, Pusser=excellent human being. Biiiiig difference. (By the way, I'd be more than willing to trade this porn-infestation for having this machine haunted by Sheriff Pusser...ya listenin' Buford?)

Buford Pusser was a great Sheriff for sure and yes Hollywood did do to much out of the real man. Thank God they kept the truth alive as much as they thought they could for them.

Hey guys just found this by surfing. Buford Pusser was one of the greatest Southern Sheriffs ever. Of course I would like to mention I am aware of who James Magnum Cook is also and he is kind of a small legend himself.
Well known for local politics and antics in Warren County, Kentucky. Also was a former candidate for Warren Conunty Constable himself.
Southern Legends seem to grow fast and bring with them much uniquness.

Buford Pusser a great Sheriff. The Rock will have to do a lot to fill the shoes of the Walking Tall legend, but glad to see Dawna Pusser is supporting the movie for sure.

I recently found this amont searches for models of all things and I would agree Sheriff Buford Pusser was a true living legend. On the other hand I wonder if James Magnum Cook is truly worthy of such an honor even though some on his own website have called him that. According to him he would not call himself that, but even among all your post here is one from him prior to anyone else saying anything. Why is he such a mystery and where does he hide from the public if he is such a legend. I kind of would like to know that one???????????????

Well its a damn shame that some people think James Magnum Cook is a legend, because I knew the guy when he lived in Northeast GA. He is nothing more than a sneaky little son of a bitch who worshiped the S.O.B. Pusser like he was a God. Well just like Pusser, Cook spent time in jail but did the Sheriff in Stephens County do anything to him. Hell no! They never mug shot him, fingerprinted him or even charged him for writing bad checks.
You see, just like Pusser the cops who are friends with each other or your friends with the cops protect you.
Now to know he ran for Constable in Kentucky. God help you. This jerk even used a stick himself on four guys one night at a club he was not even protecting and again no charges.

Hello everyone on this very strange and interesting site. I am wondering if this is suppose to be an Urban Legend site or what. If so, why is there not more information about some of the legends and why so far among postings. It seems all weird to me as I found this while researching Buford Pusser earlier today after watching the new Walking Tall movie on DVD. I then went and watched the old ones after seeing the dedication to Pusser whom I am only 24 years old and never even heard of Buford Pusser until a few weeks ago?
Why is there not more about him, if he too is such a legend. I found a lot of old stuff but he seems interesting enough to me to have new stuff or even new movies.
The Rock's version is good but the true story does seem a hell of a lot more intriguing.

Furthermore, those who want to attack me is fine but attacking my friends, family or models is not going to fly with me.
