Here's what crickets eat...
Me and my big mouth. I ask one time what to feed the crickets that were inhabiting my comments and suddenly I'm a cricket nutritionist.
I've gotten two comment/emails lately asking me, in rather desperate tones, what to feed crickets. One a little boy had found and wanted to keep for a pet and the other was found outside freezing by some kind soul who just wanted to help it. So, I 'Asked Jeeves' and got the answers. I'm just gonna go on and post it here, so if anyone else finds one, they don't hafta wait a week while I search thru approximately 900 lbs of notes bearing esoteric scrawlings such as: "Acidman inspired blogs", "armpits/smelling them", "men's cologne/me weird", and Velociman's email address all on one piece of paper, looking for my notes on cricket diets again. So here it is: Crickets eat green shit...everything from crops to lawn grass. They also like dry cat food, lettuce, oatmeal and require a piece of orange for moisture because they'll drown in a 'waterbowl'. There is also some stuff called 'gut load' that is sold in pet stores. Apparently, people who raise crickets to feed to other critters fatten 'em up with this stuff.Anyway...
They also like living in sand, with one spot of it kept moist and like to hide in toilet paper tubes. From my own personal knowledge, a cricket was the reason Buddy Holley named his band what he did. There was one allegedly caught on tape chirping along with him.
It's supposed to be good luck to have one in your house.
I think it's rude to kill 'em.
Then again...I don't kill or put bounties on spiders, either.

I see that ya did and 'Thank you', Sweetie. Now, if I only knew what everyone is looking for. Without fail, every search spells it the same: x-fire. I know it brings ya here, but that ain't me. No dash in my name.
Used to be some kid named Stevie Brock. Now it's 'that x-fire show'.
(Ahhh, Jeez...I hope that's not that boring, dry old "Crossfire" where a buncha guys sit around argueing that they're looking for. THIS definitely ain't THAT....Less of course ya catch me on a 'good' night, so pissed I'm argueing with myself...sit I'm not one a those old farts on that show....lol)
Anyway..if I get remotely coherant, Mr. Hightower, I may send you an email, just to say "Hi" and find out what ya was REALLY lookin' fer...kay?
(Especially when the search is, liiiike, 5 pages in.)

Thanks for the info, entered "crickets eat" on Google 'cause I just seen one truckin' around in here, an' it's too cold to throw 'im out... there's dry cat food in here, so I guess it won't starve! Good luck, Huh!? Wasn't for bad luck I'd have none...so thanks a whole bunch. Now I hope the cats don't mess up my luck....
