Ya know...
It was hard enough for me to watch "The Green Mile" in the first place.
I know to the core of my being what John Coffey means when he tells Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) that he doesn't want to be let go after he saves the warden's wife, he wants to die anyway, even though he's not guilty, because he is so tired from all the ugliness in life.
Not two minutes into it, the song "I'm in Heaven" plays on the TV at the old age home where Paul Edgecomb lives and I'm gone. It wasn't in the book, that song, but I know how it figures into the movie and it works and works well. And, it kills me...
So, I'm blubbering at that, then we see John for the first time, just as I'm reading on IMDb that this story is a modern-day version of the story of Jesus. Wow. As many times as I've seen this movie and as much as I just love it, I did not know that. Never occured to me. But now, if possible, I just love John Coffey even more. This movie touches me in places in my heart that I thought had been killed long ago. I'm glad I don't feel like this 24/7. It'd probably kill me. Oooh, there's Mr. Jingles! And, here go the waterworks again... Jeez... lol.What is wrong with me?

I love this movie.... (Thank you for this and all the rest of the books and movies, Steve. "My lifetime" has been a much more entertaining era because of you. Glad I was here for it....) Gotta admit though, there are a few parts I do NOT watch. The stomping of meeces and the spitting of chewed up moon pies and such makes me ill. I don't know who is the bigger waste of sperm here... Percy the Prison Guard or Wild Bill, the one who really killed those girls. Probably Percy and not just because he "kills" Mr. Jingles, but because he's supposed to know better, isn't he? If I was ever fortunate enough to meet Michael Clarke Duncan, I do believe all I'd do is hug him and bawl my head off.
Kinda like I'm doing now. He just "helped" Mr. Jingles.... I need a cuppa coffee...
