Let's see if this works...
Here's hopin', Paul. This is supposed to be a trackback to you...
What I did was clicked on 'Customize display of this page' on my post page. Then it gave me a place to paste the trackback code from your site. So, we'll see...Margi, any interpretation of that User Manual from Techy to English you can do would be great. In the meantime, I gotta start a pot coffee and get ready to get Eric up. Two things I am competant at....heh.

Stevie, what browser do you use? Internet Explorer, Netscape, Mozilla?
If you are using IE there is a super easy way to "ping" folks you are linking to.
I would have emailed you this, but you left your comment anonymously....(luckily you have a very distinctive "voice").
When you are looking at the screen that says "entry body" do you see four little buttons on the top right hand side that say "B" "i" "U" and "URL"? If so, hurray! These are "shortcut" buttons that put HTML code into your post for you. So say you are writing and you want to emphasize a word, what you do is use your mouse to highlight that word and then click on the button. "B" makes it bold, "i" puts it in italics. "U" underlines it and "URL" will make it a link! So say you want to link to me. You type Susie, highlight my name, and click URL. A box will come up where you type the address. The http:// is already there, so you would type in pp.mn.nu then click "ok". Just linking to my blog won't ping me though. You have to link to an individual post. So you either type in the address of the post, or copy and paste it to the box. MT will then automaticly "ping" that post.
Clear as mud, right?

Okay...all that makes perfect sense. I do use IE and I do use those little boxes.
Now...where do I find the addresses for individual posts and do I put them in the link making box in addition to or instead of your regular URL?
And, if I do this for or with every link, will it ping, too?
(Ya know...I can remember Pixy tellin' me you (Susie) won't go near your template without a flamethrower, when I first got here...lol. I know exactly how you feel. Does any of this invovle templates...'cause I saw some crap in the MT User Manual that said something about 'inserting' shit in there, which I...just ought not to do. Please say templates are exempt from this exercise in mental gymnastics. Please?)
