I just knew somethin' was gonna go wrong here soon. Everything is going so got-damned good lately, I've been kinda half-waitin' for something to trip it up.
My insurance agent, Julie, is gone from the agency.Hell. I liked her. siiiighhhh.. Oh well. The only odd thing is, I think she's really been gone awhile. I called them a coupla months ago to ask a question for George and the guy who answered was real evasive about when Julie would be available. I wondered then. Today, when the chick who answered said she wasn't there again, I said... "Lem'me ask you something... I am just having the shittiest luck in the world reaching her, or does she not work there anymore?" There was a slight hesitation, then she said, "Well, I don't really think she DOES work here anymore...." "Aw poop. Man, I liked her. She was really nice and very helpful.... kinda like you are, actually. Tell ya what, since she's gone and I need a nice, patient person to help me keep this shit straight, is it okay if I just ask for you from now on?" "Sure, okay..." "Cool. Irene, right?" "Yep..." "Great. I'm "state yer name". Thanks so much. Talk to ya later and have a good day." "Okay, you too..." *click* And, THAT'S how I adopted my new agent. The end.

Funny, when I enlisted in the Navy the officer swearing me in called me the same thing:
"Repeat after me: 'I state your name....'"
"Repeat after me: 'I state your name....'"
