This is so dumb. Even Sr. knows about the dreaded "had-to-be-asked-for apology/affection". This kinda shit just isn't the same when it has to be asked for (or compelled by resolution), as opposed to simply given "because they want to" (i.e. because they actually mean it). Maybe it's just me, but, if I were one of the people toward whom this lip service was directed, I'd be insulted. I'm just sayin'...
