Forgot one other thing about yesterday....

Not surprised I forgot it, what with DefLep giving me aural orgasms and all, but...

I also ordered another CD.
By this lady.

Yes.
I, Ms. Heavy Metal/Classic Rock/Who-hates-fuckin'-(C)RAP-with
every-fiber-of-her-being... I bought an album by Mama Africa.

I actually like this woman.
I grew up listening to one of her albums.
Don't ask me which one.
Fuck if I know.
All I know is it has her in a headdress on the cover and it has a tan background.
As do damned near ALL of her albums, as I, and the clerk-guy at Sam Goody, learned yesterday.

That particular "identifier" din't he'p a damned bit.

So, I ordered "The Essential" CD.

Two songs I remember and love are Pata Pata and the Click Song.
Both of which are on this CD... of course.

So, yes, let's recap briefly...

Def Leppard
Guns-n-Roses
Miriam Makeba

Eclectic much?

5 And, DIDN'T my cell phone just ring...
Yes, it did.
But, since it wasn't a 212 area code, I let it go to voice mail...

Now, to go reverse lookup the number...

7 Yeah, it was a guy from PAWS, the people who are spaying and neutering alla these cats around here.

He was gonna come get a few more cats (the last three, in fact) but, the vet doing this "clinic" doesn't do "very young" cats the way most of them do these days, plus, he said if the one cat who is old enough to be done has leukemia or feline HIV, he'd not be coming back.

Bi-SCUSE me, bitch?

I don't THINK so.
Wrong answer.

Yeah. He said this vet won't return a cat who has either of those ailments.

Well.
I've already had two cats returned who have fHIV, so she can go piss up a rope.
I'll not take the chance she may find some other spurious reason to keep Tommy... (full name: Thomas O'Malley, as in "the alley cat" from "The Aristocats".)
Not this cat, no way.

First off, his mother is here and he's VERY close to her. In fact, she's about the only cat he seeks out to hang with.
Second, he was BORN suspicious of people (much like his namesake) and I've been workin' my ASS off with him, getting him to trust me to pet him and hold him and stuff and if that bitch-vet kept him, I'd feel like I'd screwed him to the WALL, so fark that idea.
Plus, I have the strong suspicion he'd be killed if he did have either of those problems, so... fuck that again.

We'll just wait til there's a clinic run by a less anal-retentive vet who does do "young cats" and who won't be begging to get their butt kicked by trying to keep one of MY kids, thanks.

So, yeah... once again, I wish it HAD been you...
*giggle*

(Ah-hah... just looked in the phone book and found that the area code for where you are isn't 212, anyway. I knew that's the one for NYC, didn't realize Brooklyn and environs had other ones....
NOW I know what to (not hold my breath) look(ing) for...)
