Banking question (or: don't start with me, bitch)...
Does it matter, AT ALL, when depositing checks in a checking account whether or not the person whose check it is in on the account it's being deposited in?
As long as the check isn't stolen and it's signed by the person whose check it is, does it make a difference whether or not they're on the account? Just wondering... (And, for the record... it hasn't so far and I was told it doesn't before I ever opened the account in the first place BY THE MANAGER of said bank.)(But, some bitch there today decided to try to make an issue of it and now, I wanna know.)
(Before I "make an issue of it".)
(Can ya tell I am in NO MOOD for this shit?)

So person A writes a check to person B and person B endorses it, then person C desposits it in their own account?
It's technically allowed, but makes lots of people suspicious.

ok...
check belongs to person "A"...and signed by person "A"?..right? and person "B" is there to deposit it in person "A"s account?...have i got this right so far?..person "B" is doing a direct deposit to person "A"s account with no cash back?..then no...Person "B" doesn't need to be on the account. For cash back..yes person "B" has to be on the account.

If you are depositing the check and NOT getting any cash back, it shouldn't be a problem.

My parents give checks to my kids (birthdays, etc) and I have the kids endorse them, and I deposit them in MY checking acct (then I give the kids the cash) Never has the bank made an issue of it.
However, the same prick of a bank has given me ENDLESS shit about funds availability as to my husbands PAYROLL CHECK (which is a US MARSHALS govt check!) They subject it to a 3 day hold! (makes me crazy!)
Banks suck.

Mike... thanks for everything.
Imp, Mike explained it all. And, you were close. Person A's check, signed by person A and deposited in person B's account, no cash back.
It's allowed, legal and that woman at the bank can kiss my hiney.
Chablis... right. Been doing this all along and today the woman at the bank hadda be a dipshit. No biggie. Checks are deposited and all will be fine.
(But, if she does it again, I will be speaking to the manager about it...)
Ruth... oh yeah. Know allll about that three day hold shit.
Payroll check here, too.
So stupid of them.
Or paranoid, one.
Thanks, y'all... and yeah, Imp, it was really good to see Bo. Gonna be doing that more often.
*grin*

You're right. The bank teller is wrong. She's probably new or inexperienced. Now she should know so next time you try this and she gives you a hard time, drag her gotdam ass over the counter and give her the ass whoopin' she deserves.
